Finished up 2 good days of fishing with Joseph Lambert and his customers. They enjoyed their 2 night stay at the Lakehouse ! The crew caught in excess of 80 reds and a few trout. Everyone had a good time catching fish. Big thanks to Capts Brady Giroir and Andy Bean for taking good care of the customers and putting them on the fish .
Rodney Stratton and the boys came in to the Lakehouse for 3 days of catching bull redfish. They were here 2-3 years ago and they were ready to battle the bulls once again. As everyone knows we have no shortage of bull reds as they can be caught every day of the week. This trip was no exception as the big reds were on fire and waiting for them. Needless to say they had another great adventure on the DU!
Bill Bowlin and crew traveled down to the DU to catch reds and they got what they came for. They even got lucky and caught some trout too. I took them out the first day and Capt Alden fished with them the 2nd day. They enjoyed their 3 night stay at the Lakehouse and I look forward to their return to the DU. This was their first trip to Dularge and they liked the area and of course were excited about the big numbers of fish we catch on a daily basis.
The redfish bite slowed down for us on a couple days last week. Craig Fusson and crew caught a mess of fish the first day and Shannon Lemoine and crew fished with Capt Brady and I catching a nice mess but no limits. Both groups had a good time catching reds and a few puppy drum as the reds were hard to figure out. Every now and then the fish throw us a curve ball but thatâs what keeps us humble and we never take the fishing for granted as itâs usually always a different day from the next down here on the bayou.
The redfish cooperated for John Beyers , Karl Morris and Mike Beavers from the Shreveport area. John fished with me last year and wanted some more of our great south Louisiana fishing. We fished 2 days and the crew enjoyed their 2 night stay at the Lakehouse. We caught fish anywhere between 16-30 inches as the guys had a great time doing the DU!
It was another great redfish slam for Capt Ricky Brondum and his 4 person crew as they had no problem catching their 25 fish limit. The reds were eating up on a falling tide as the girls had a great day on the water. Nice when it works out that way.
Tim Downing was down on the DU from Indiana with his daughter Lea and friend John. They were looking to fish 3 days but the weather only allowed 2 days. After fishing with me for over 10 years in a row this was the first trip they didnât limit out as we found slow action on both days. The tide just didnât move either day and the fish were hard to find. The weather was not the greatest but I donât think it affected the bite as much as no tide movement. Always a pleasure fishing with this crew.
It was good to fish again with Henry McClemore and his friends Dale Vidrine & James Robert. Henry and the guys wanted to catch reds as we got an early start from the Lakehouse. We had to make a few moves as our first 3-4 stops only produced 1 lonely redfish. After our 5th stop we hit the reds hard. The guys found themselves hooked up about every other cast. We had to cull through some 27 inch plus fish at first but the crew kept at it until we filled our 20 fish limit of slot reds. Henry and the guys had a blast and are already planning another trip to the DU!
Will & Haley Blanton enjoyed their trip to the DU. Willâs dad had bought him a gift certificate and they decided to cash it in on some Dularge bronzebacks. Capt Alden Bonvallain was available to take the couple out as I already had plans with the family. Capt Alden said the couple actually got tired of catching fish . The reds ate up big time and Will and Haley had a blast catching fish. Easy limits for sure!
Chris Robinson and his son Steven wanted to catch a mess of redfish since Steven was in town visiting from Texas. We got an early start from the Lakehouse and found the reds stacked up at first stop . We had a slow incoming tide and the fish were hungry! We caught about 25 reds keeping our 15 fish limit in less than 2 hours. We finished up early and the storms never got us wet for a change. Another good day on the DU!
Easy limits of redfish for Capt Ricky Brondum and his 2 person crew. The trout were non existent so they whacked the reds on the way back. Always a good Plan B On The DU!
Day 4 with Ron Rhodes and crew was the easiest day yet. Capt Brady and I found the reds stacked on one bank and it didnât take but till 9:00 am to ice down 40 reds between both boats. Lots of slot reds and were surprised to see so many sharks in brackish water. Nearly 200 redfish caught with Rons crew over the 4 days. They coming back in October!!!
Fished with a great group of guys as Charlie Pearce rolled in with a 16 man crew. Big thanks to Capts Alden , Elton, Brady and Andy for their help with the guys. Redfish were on the agenda for this 2 day trip. No problem filling the boxes for any of the captains as we all headed in different directions to find fish. Looking forward to their return trip to the DU!
Day 3 with Ron Rhodes was another action packed adventure on the DU. Capts Brady and Andy helped me out with the Texas crew. It was another good redfish bite as we stayed on the inside waters. Leonard Adkins kept the crew well fed for the entire weekend as he worked his magic in the kitchen.
Capt Alden was back at it for Day 2 with Corbin Ladner and his family. It was another good day. They wanted to try for some trout so they went offshore. The trout were not biting good , only a handful of keepers so they switched to plan B for reds. It was a good move by Capt A as they caught 12 trout and 19 reds before the rain Chased them back to the lodge.
Got a call from long time customer Corbin Ladner who wanted to fish with his family a couple days. I was booked already so I hooked him up with Capt Alden Bonvallain to fish with him both days. They enjoyed their 2 night stay at the Lakehouse 2 and went home loaded down with fillets. Day 1 was action packed as they whacked the reds catching 25 fish by early morning. Plenty of fast paced action and the crew had a blast on the DU!
Another great day on Dularge with Ron Rhodes and his crew. The guys wanted to start off looking for trout so we headed straight to the Picketts . We found a slow bite only catching about 15 trout so we headed to Coon Island finding only about 20 more trout. Capt Brady stayed put picking at the reef and ended up with a good box of trout. Afterwards we headed north to bust up the reds as we found them hungry. Could not have had a better day to fish with slick calm seas !!
I hooked up Capt Alden with Ryan McLin and crew for some trout/redfish Action On The DU! They hit the gulf early & tried for some trout but no luck ....only a few. They headed north in the big Blackjack and started to catch reds and found some nice ones. They caught a nice box but no full limits. Caught a shark and a few drum too.
Day 1 with Mr Ron Rhodes and his Texas crew was about catching redfish. Capt Brady had 1/2 of the crew and I had Ron and his boys. We beat up the water pretty hard as the bite was slow at first. Gotta keep moving as you know we gonna find them reds ...and we did! The guys had a blast catching fish as it was a great first day on the DU!
Capt Andy Bean had a blast today with these guys!! They were on a really good bite early with the slot reds and decided they had enough to clean. They left the slot reds biting! Went try for bulls and was not disappointed. Caught and released 20+ to be caught for another day. Thanks to mr James Fairchild and his crew for an awesome time. Canât wait till next time!!!!
