Can anybody tell me why the fishing in lafourche parish is bad and declinings so rapidly?? Is it because technically you only have one legal area to fish without trespassing which is PAC. And it is sinking at a alarming rate, i wonder why our gov is not trying to protect that area but areas like delta farms get levees built on it (private land) areas like little lake gets rock along edges(to protect LOOP-private land ) port fourchon gets land built in port and sand pumped on west side of jetties( to protect oilfield central port fourchon private land) help me see the common denominator......it will get done if money power and greed is involved with our taxdollares go figure! Back to the fishing or should i say the trespassing because if you not in a wide open lake or on a management area the chances are you are trespassing. So my thoughts are me and you dont have many places to run our boats into to get in on some fish without breaking the law...how sad this state has become with greed!

Also its pretty sad that all of the people with so called leases can stop you from fishing in certain areas, which they certainly can, they own the fish to i guess. Also it gets really old seeing all the guide reports on these post showing how they 'smoke' the fish day in and day out!!! Its hard to belive a fishery can sustain itself with coastal land lost and fishing pressure day in an out. Which in my opinion fishing is not nearly as good as it once was but of course our biologist will say it is kinda like there are more ducks now than ever.....thats is the biggest line of crap i ever heard. Getting back to 'breasting' ducks, all of the tv shows and now la sportsman is promoting this wastefulness.maybe im just old school and was thought to do it the right way. If you take a life of game then utilize everything on that animal, i understand everybody wont eat the heart and gizzards like we do but really just ' breasting' is wasting all the back meat and legs which in my opinion is the best part of a duck. I know many may not agree but i just needed to vent a little!!! Lol, good luck and stay safe

Its a long time i been reading the reports but its my first time posting bc i just had to after seeing a article promoting wasting precious game.I have been a duck hunter since i was 5 and now im 40 and no longer hunt bc of the way hunting is now, first of all everyone is a duck hunter now due to the lack of effort people have to put in when duck hunting these days, most people have pro-drives with pop up blinds which takes no effort what so ever to hunt, you can find you a nice pond to hunt and low an behold some idiot comes into your spot and proceeds to pop up ther blind and hunt 20 ft from you. Not only that, after they hunt they go ride around every square inch of the little bit of marsh that we have left which in turns scares every sitting duck that is trying to rest up after getting shot at all morning! And 'breasting ducks' is such a waste and should not be allowed,if you to lazy to clean game the right way then you shouldnt be allowed to hunt! Breasting is like cutting off the backstrap of a deer and throwing the rest away, which people probably do that to!its sad that it has come to this unethical behavior! Let me know what real hunters think about this post! Thanks

Again...i am not saying everyone with a pro-drive with a pop up blind is lazy, i am talkin bout the one that set up 20ft from you 10 minutes before shooting time and proceed to shoot at duck 100 yard in the air which in turn wings them and they are unable to retrieve them. For every one duck they kill they have shot and wounded 5 other ones which are lost and become coon bait. I understand with our coastal land loss that you almost need a boat to hunt in these days, the small pirogue potholes are few and far between these days. I had a mudboat at one time which was used to get close to the ponds that were being hunted, not to ride around every inch of duck habitat.

No i dont cut the rib meat out, i usually bite it out when i cook the ribs. I also kill only one deer a year, which is usually enough meat for my family for the year, the ribs are really good if you properly know how to prepare and cook them.

I know it cant be inforced, it is just my opinion, it just seems we have got away from our heritage and go into a 'sport of bragging'
