Shot a 10 point evening of 11/14. Lots of blood for a good while then none. If anyone can put me in contact with a blood trailing dog I would greatly appreciate it. This is my biggest deer by far. Please help if you can. 985-969-0281. David.

I'll gladly pay for a good blood trailing dog.
Thanks

My son killed his first deer on Oct. 3. He used a scorpyd ventilator extreme crossbow with rage extreme broadhead. The bolt was equipped with orange lumenock which made finding it very easy. It was an evening hunt and we saw 5 deer. It is an 8 point. He was pretty pumped up. He has killed a bigger deer at age 7 than I have killed in my life. To top it off he did it with a crossbow a at 40 yards. Take a look at the entry wound from that rage extreme. The blades broke off exiting the ribs on the other side. Buck ran about 30 yards.

I started this project last year. Put it on the back burner for a while and then got to bainstorming again. I pulled it out from the back of the shop and began tinkering again. I am happy with the finished product. It is pretty cheap to build, most of the materials were just laying around.

I have it set for a 2 second run time which yeilds 3/4 of pound of ricebran. Once the deer find it I can increase the time if need be. It is a 12 volt gear driven system. It holds 100 lbs of rice bran.

Can anyone recall the bacteria or whatever it was that caused the infections from the people getting pricked by a shrimp. I remember reading about it on here a while back. I want to give a safety moment on it as people will begin fishing more with the warmer weather around the corner. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Can anyone tell me where I can find the rut forecast for this upcoming season. I am trying to make early plans for Area 2. If not when does it come out?

Thanks,

I was wondering how large of a plot I need and when to plant for dove season. I have been seeing quite a few and would like to give it a try this coming season. Also any suggestions on what to plant. Thanks, David J.

I am in need of an obituary from Jan. 25 or 26 Times Picayune. My Grandpa passed while I was offshore. I did get to spend 2.5 hours with him the night before he passed thanks to the Lord blessing us with fog in Venice. I could not fly out Wednesday or Thursday so I able to visit him him Thursday night and he passed Friday around 13:00. If anyone can help me with an Obituary I would greatly appreciate it. I was told that the 25th had a misprint and the 26th is correct. I would rather the 26th but will take what I can get. He was a Veteran and a true American hero. He has touched many lives and will be missed forever and never forgotten. I live in Folsom and would be willing to meet somewhere to pick it up or if one would like to mail me the clipping from the paper that would also be very much appreciated. His name is John Brown. aka "Coach" He is from Algiers. If someone needs my address just send me a message. Thanks in advance.

My dad said he was working under his carport and heard something going clack, clack clack, clack. When he turned around he saw a huge doe and when she saw him she bolted across the rest of his concrete and across the yard staight through an electric fence which is to keep the horses in their pasture. He took these pics and sent them to me to show how big her tracks were. He said she was bigger than the shetland pony he has.

I am in the market for a Meat grinder and a Vacuum Sealer. I would like to hear from fellow sportsman. What brand and size grinder do ya'll have? Does your grinder satisfy your needs and would you change anything if you could. Also the same on vacuum sealers. I am leaning towards the Cabela's #22 grinder with 1hp. And I am looking at the Cabela's commercial CG-15 Vacuum Sealer or the Vacuum Sealer Pro 2100.

I just wanted to wish everybody goodluck on the opening day of bow season. I will be working for the first two weeks of October. I can't wait to get out in the woods and sling some arrows. Good luck to all and be safe.

I made a small food plot today and had a little help from my daughter "Emma" and nephew "Snake". They smiled the whole time while we disced up the ground. Trying to get them started early.

I am currently in the market for a new bow in the $400 - $500 dollar range. I am looking at the Daimond "The Rock" and the Martin "Cheetah". I would like to make my purchase from Cabela's simply because I have $350 in gift certificates. I was wondering if anyone had any input or experience with either of these bows or any other in this range that can be purchased at Cabela's. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

David

I have a 4wd. 35 hp. tractor with front end loader and all implements required to build food plots including a 400lb capacity spreader. If anyone needs a plot made send me an email or call me 985 969 0281. I am at work until July 30 but will be home for two weeks. My tractor is in Hammond, LA. I would rather not travel more than about an hour from there but I will consider it.

(Sorry for any misunderstanding but the tractor is not fore sale. I will do the work.)

Thanks,

David

We went and tracked him with Blake Werner and his dog Jones. The blood stopped and Jones tracked for about another 800 yards into bordering lease. I believe the deer will live to see another day. I'm sure hoping so anyway. Thanks for y'alls help.

You may want to try Bilt Rite in Brookhaven, MS. My father in law bought one from them and they build it to his specs. He said they had the best price around. I know he enjoyed the experience.

A comment titled: .22 Mag in response to a report titled: 17 hmr or the 22 mag

I have hunted and killed many pigs with a .22mag. I use the CCI hollow point and shoot them right behind the ear or just above the center line of the neck. I have not had one take a step after being shot. I know there are many people that swear by the .17mag. I owned my .22mag before the .17mag was available and I would not trade it for one now. If you do a little research and look up the balistics of the two, you will find that the .22mag is superior. The only thing the .17 does is fly faster, but at half the weight. The .22mag will absolutey hit harder with more kinetic energy.

If any of you have some spare time, You should really read 'Term Limits' by Vince Flynn. It is an excellent book. It is fiction, but I can see it happening if things continue to go the way they are. I can promise that ya'll will enjoy this book. It is one that can't be put down. In fact all of Vince Flynn's books are this way. Check it out. I'll be waiting to hear back from ya'll.

A comment titled: Plug in response to a report titled: Explain the plug in gun law

If I remember correctly, the plug must remain in the shotgun for all hunting. The only exception is the special goose season. I am not sure if this season is even exists any more. It does not make sense to me. You can hunt with a 30 round magazine in an AR-15, but only 3 rounds in a shotgun.

A comment titled: Bran Feeder in response to a report titled: Revised Rice Bran Feeder

It may not be for sale in the big stores, but I will get with a few buddies to try it out. Keep it close until it has proven itself to me as well as my friends. Once I see that it will not disapoint I will make them available to other hunters. I still need to streamline the building of the unit. It was all trial and error with the first one. So far it is working well, but I already see small things that I can do to improve on it.

I am currently running this one. I am taking notes and seeing how it performs for the season. I would like to build some and sell them, however I want it to be foolproof and built to last. I have a few ideas to better my design. I will definitley post results of this feeder and updates as they come.

A comment titled: bran in response to a report titled: Revised Rice Bran Feeder

There is a garden auger bit on the bottom of the drive shaft. It has about a quarter of an inch clearance all the way around. The bran will stop itself. I did get the idea for the paddles from the powder keg which my friend has. The problem with the powder keg is it has to run for several minutes rather than seconds to disperse any substantial amount of bran. Mine dispenses 3/4 lb in 2 seconds. I checked it yesterday and something started eating the bran. I set my camera up yesterday as well. I will be at work for 2 weeks so I should have some pics when I return home.

A comment titled: Bran Feeder in response to a report titled: Revised Rice Bran Feeder

The gear box and motor can be had for around $30. Any drum with a lid will work for the hopper. The only other real costs are a timer (around $20) and a 12 volt battery. I will be addind a solar panel soon, although the battery will probably last a year only running 2 seconds a day. I used a 12 volt power wheels battery. It has an 8 amp/hr rating.
