New To Sportsman Network?

We have a camp in Lafitte. Unfortunately, we haven't been fishing since the Summer. I am taking my dad out on our new boat and would love to break it in with a good trout day.

Anybody want to break the fishing rule and give me a hint where we should start our day or what areas we should stay around??

Thanks in Advance,

Nooch

Dear All,

We just bought a boat that had the Humminbird ONIX10 SI. I am looking for the E CARD, chip, or mapping card for the unit. I was looking to put the Standard Mapping LA ONE, but it is not compatible. I was told by Humminbird to go with either Navionics or Lake Masters.

Are there any others? If not, which of the two, Navionics or Lake Masters, should i go with and why?

FYI, i do not have an IPILOT, so the perk that one links up to the i pilot does not matter. If i get one, i can get a new card, if the other has better mapping.

Thanks,

First, let me say thank you to everyone who has responded. I was taken aback as i did not expect it. With that, I report the following from our trip on Friday, Dec. 11.

We went straight to Plum Point and starting fishing the birds. We kept about 20 out of 100 on the lemon drop Matrix Shad. However, the wind before this weekend's storm arrived to do nothing short of shut the bite down.

We ran to Cloverly and caught 3 bass. We then joined the boat parking lot that Brussels had turned into, to no avail.

We then attempted the Rigolets' east shoreline, but the wind had the water like chocolate milk so we called it a day.

The report was that each day prior to Friday, for about a week, Brussels and the Rigolets were producing limits daily for everyone who went. We were just a day late and dollar short, as it tends to go more times than not.

However, we were able to test out the capabilities of our new, 24 ft Blue Wave Pure Bay w/ the 300 Yamaha, and we were thoroughly impressed.

Thanks again to all for the responses.

Thank you. I did the exact thing about this time last year with a guide buddy. Also went to Cloverly and Brustles. Will try them all. Thanks, again.

Thank you for the response. Personally, I like Garmin. However, the boat came with the unit installed. I am apprehensive to take out the unit and install a new one.

Thanks again.
