Be careful if you launch out of Myrtle Grove. The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff Office is handing out tickets for creating a ripple in the water. I thought that was a job for the Wildlife and Fisheries. What gives? It sure caught us by surprise. I thought it was a free weekend for not having a fishing license. It is going to cost us more than a fishing license.

Well our court date came up and we went to go before the judge. Plaquemine Parish Courthouse is in a small temporary building by the ferry. It was packed. We had to be there for 9:30 am and by 10:30 am the judge still hadn't shown up. When the clerk came in and said they were going by alpha order, we looked at each other amd said we are R, we left and went upstairs to pay the ticket. It was $143.00 and left no mark on my husbands licences. Glad that is over. I heard noone was able to get out of the ticket.

They can have that canal. They have already sold the right side corner lots for $145,000. It will just become worse. I told my husband that he could have been using a paddle and he would have received a ticket. They say us coming. And by the way, we were at idle speed with no wake and the boat in front didn't get a ticket!

We didn't realize we were causing a wake. We have launch out of Myrtle Grove a lot and never had a problem. The last thing we would want to do is to cause anyone or their property any harm. We always slow down to a snails pace when we come to a camp, more so when we come back in to the launch. What got us more so was that we were behind another boat and they didn't get a ticket. They used the back down ramp. Now can someone tell me where to pay the ticket?
