early season kitty cat

busted this one in the early bow season at 5 yards while hunting on the ground... I wasn't sure what it was exactly walking through the needle grass on side of me... right before it popped out I went to full draw.. it stuck its head out onside of the palmetto bush and pinned its ears back when it saw me... i didn't know what to expect but i did know one thing... it didn't flench and wouldn't take that one more step i needed... getting the better of me i let it fly through the thin/half dead palmetto hitting the cat in the chest and exiting the rear end of the cat... he ran 60 yards before he let out a growling hiss that ensured me it was over... and my heart ran for another 160 yards before i could get up off the ground to go start tracking.... exciting stuff man... Bowtech Allegiance #70 Easton Axis 340's muzzy 100grn 4bld.... this is my second kill with this bow and hopefully there will be many more to follow..

Not Here
Marshwalker maybe you should think about the other types of people that look at this web site. I try to teach my kids ethical hunting and I eat what I kill. A lot of people are also fond of cats. If you have a cat problem where you are at and you have decided to thin the herd so to speak, I personally could care less. I don't think you need to brag about it on here however.

WTF?
He killed a legal animal. WTF is your problem? Are you a PETA spy? Do you apologize to the animals you kill? This is a hunting and fishing site, where we post reports and pictures of what we kill. Yeah, KILL, not "take" or "harvest". You Politically Correct attitude is a big part in the "pussification of America".

I've had it with apologists. BTW, I have 2 cats at home, a Bobcat is not a house cat. Just like a deer is not a dog.

coyote
I just killed a coyote Tuesday while deer hunting, is that like killing a dog? I might start feeling sad.

You're Right
I thought it was a house cat cajunhopper. I do not have a problem with predator hunting at all. I don't like killing for no reason and I know a lot young people look at the site that are new to hunting and I don't want to get the wrong message sent out. Sorry if I jumped the gun a little there marshwalker.

no problem
No problem man... It is a bobcat... he was 34" nose to tail and 32lbs. I kind of dwarf the cat because i'm 300lbs... ha.. but is a bobcat..and we do have to many of them in that area... i don't shoot house cats and dogs....but coyotes and bobcats don't care much for my arrows.

lafitte
Yup... killed it off the intercoastal.. there seems to be more and more of them in the area we bow hunt over there... a buddy of mine shot one two years ago 43" nose to butt and 39lbs. it was an extremely huge bobcat... well the biggest i have ever seen atleast... this one was a little smaller but still a big cat...

that's awesome that you have them where you hunt. like i said i was under the impression that there were none in that area. i lived in lafitte for 20 years and never heard of anyone killing a bobcat there. congrats on the kill.

sorry
LOL, I didn't realize you thought it was a house cat. sorry to sound so harsh. I can't imagine anyone killing a domestic cat and posting it on here. You could be tracked down by the animal po-po and get on TV.
