Looking for bass

Reply

Finally got a day off this Friday and I'm looking for some bass. I have been really busy so I have no idea what the bass fishing has been like lately. I'm in the Baton Rouge area and will travel 2 hours in any direction. My normal places would be Tickfaw river, Bayou Pigeon, Delacroix (Lake Lery), Bayou Black (Gibson) or Lake Okhissa (Mississippi).

Does anyone have any updates on these locations? I'm also always up for new area's I just want to catch fish. Any information would be appreciated. Location, lure, structure type etc.... Thanks

Re: Looking for bass
Over the last couple weekends I've gone the bass have been biting really well in the Orange grove, bluebird areas and launch out of bobs marina bayou black. They are usually still biting when I decide to head back home. Chartreuse spinnerbaits work pretty well. Hope this helps!

Went to Ohkissa Saturday. Caught three small fish, three different lures. There was some schooling action but they were very weary. Looking for somewhere else to go next weekend.

Thanks for the replies. Went to Tickfaw and caught about 15 bass. Only 7 were keepers between 12'-15'. Had 1 catfish that hit a ribbit frog. Good weather, clean water, fun day.
