Manchac duck hunting

Everything I’ve read about Manchac WMA is that it is ridiculous with people and sky blasting. Everything I’ve read has been from 10+ years ago. Is it still the same? Is it worth giving it a shot? It’s only about 15min from my house and I’d love to try it but I’d hate to only have 50 yards from one person to the next. I also heard that mainly the prairie is packed? I’m just looking for someone that has been there recently and can tell me what I can expect. Thank you

Brotha that's a big yes on that one! Expect the weekends to be the most crowded, and mid way through the season it fills with Coots and not to much else. Also over half of it is 'marked' as limited access but don't expect anyone at all to follow it. There will be people getting in and set up as early as midnight and camping out their spots. There are usually late arrivals throughout the morning also. Oh and the floating mat grass is looking to be bad in it this year. Passed through it just a month ago on a frogging trip and it was pretty thick. Hey hope that helped some, but hey it does vary a little from year to year, well with the exception of the opening weekend. Just be careful and keep a good eye out for near by hunters(which shouldn't be to hard to spot).

What about during teal season? I’m mainly looking into for September because where we usually hunt only has wood ducks and occasionally big ducks so that’s a no go for September.
