User input sought for proposed major hunting-season changes

The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission currently is considering hunting regulations for 2010-12. While most proposals are pretty standard, there are several that reflect a major shift.

They include altering two of the state’s deer-hunting areas to provide hunting into February and establishing “limited access areas” within four wildlife management areas.

Public-input meetings have been held, but LouisianaSportsman.com wanted to provide users with another avenue through which to their voices can be heard. Therefore, we have compiled all of the major changes on this site.

Input is being sought through about March 31, as commissioners must make their final recommendations during their April 1 meeting.

We encourage each of our users to look over the proposals and provide written comments below each of the considered changes. Wildlife and Fisheries Commission members will receive regular emails updating them on the public input so they can make educated decisions.

NOTE: Please list your real name and city of residence in responses, as this is needed for any input to be considered valid. Anonymous input will not be considered.

We also encourage users to include contact information (email address and/or phone number) so commissioners can follow up with any questions, if necessary; however, this is not required.
