Russell Sage and Ouachita WMAs to be consolidated, LDWF says

Combined size will be just under 35,000 acres, name will remain Russell Sage

The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission this month, citing more efficient use of resources and the elimination of duplication of services for two adjacent properties, approved consolidation of Russell Sage and Ouachita Wildlife Management Areas.

Ouachita WMA is composed of 13,332 acres in Ouachita Parish, while Russell Sage WMA sits on 21,514 acres in Ouachita, Morehouse and Richland parishes.

According to a release from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the consolidated property will be just shy of 35,000 acres and will retain the Russell Sage name.
