Pearl River W.M.A. entrance from Hwy. 11 reopened

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Wildlife Division has reopened the U.S. Hwy. 11 gate that provides vehicle access to the Pearl River Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in St. Tammany Parish.

On March 30, LDWF closed the U.S. Hwy. 11 gate due to high water. Since the floodwaters have receded, LDWF and Department of Transportation and Development staff completed road and bridge inspections determining that the roadway received minimal damage.

People accessing the Pearl River WMA via U.S. Hwy. 11 are reminded there is a speed limit of 20 m.p.h. and all bridges have a 3 ton weight limit until further notice. For more information, contact the LDWF Region 7 office at 225-765-2360.
