Land Trust for Louisiana to host public meeting on Baton Rouge conservation efforts

Meeting scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 14 at 9 a.m. in Room 212 of the LSU AgCenter

The Land Trust for Louisiana, a nonprofit organization that works with community partners to create a healthy and sustainable natural environment, will hold a public meeting on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 9 a.m. in Room 212 of the LSU AgCenter.

The group’s mission is to conserve and protect the state’s valuable natural areas, agricultural and rural lands and green spaces in urban environments for current and future generations.

Topics to be discussed include conservation easements, land donations, land acquisitions, federal funding sources, state funding sources and endowments.

Guest speakers will include representatives from The Conservation Fund, Trust for Public Land, the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, the LSU Ag Center, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the Louisiana Natural Heritage Program and Natural Resources Conservation Services.

After the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to ask panel representatives questions during a scheduled question-and-answer session.
