New regulations now in effect for yo yos and trotlines on specified lakes, LDWF says

Black Lake, Clear Lake, Prairie Lake, Caddo Lake, Chicot Lake, D’Arbonne Lake and Lake St. Joseph effected by rule change

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is reminding anglers that revised regulations are now in effect regarding the use of yo yos and trotlines on seven lakes across the state.

The previous rule only prohibited metal objects from being placed to anchor a yo-yo or trigger device, according to a press release.

The new rule prohibits the placement of any artificial object (including metal, cane, PVC tubing or any other material) to a anchor a yo yo or trigger device.

The change only applies to Black Lake, Clear Lake, Prairie Lake, Caddo Lake, Chicot Lake, D’Arbonne Lake and Lake St. Joseph, according to a press release.
