Donnie Ortego harvested this West Feliciana Parish giant the opening day of rifle season on Nov. 20 at 5:15 in the evening. This main frame 8-point scored 143 inches, and tipped the scale at 215 pounds. It’s his biggest buck to date and the mount will be proudly displayed at his home in Port Barre for many years to come.
Good friends are as hard to find as a good deer hunting spot. Donnie Ortego was lucky to find both when he met Mr. Charles Monson. Monson invited Donnie to hunt his property.
