On Jan. 18, Shireen Blanchard killed this beautiful 180-pound, 9-point with an inside spread of 18 3/4 inches. She and her husband were hunting with their friend, Mark Hardy, at Mark’s camp near Arnaudville, La.
Mark dropped off Shireen at a box stand before daylight. After daylight she discovered there were wasps in her stand and she was stung on her leg. She texted Mark to inform him there were wasps and that she had got out of her stand and that she was sitting on the ground next to a tree. Mark offered to bring her to another stand but she insisted that she was fine sitting on the ground.
At 8:40 her buck of a lifetime walked out at 100 yards and she raised her 7mm-08 freehanded and dropped him with one shot.
