Like father, like daughter

Lexi Normand hunted this 9-point for about a month before killing it on Jan. 6, 2022 on private property in Avoyelles Parish. The same property her dad killed his big buck. It measured 16 3/4-inches wide, had 21 3/4-inch main beams and a 5 1/4-inch base.

“I killed the buck on private property in Avoyelles Parish. The buck scored 151”, weighed 215 pounds, 16-3/4 Wide, 21-3/4 main Beams, 5-1/4 base. I watched this deer on camera for about a month, where he only showed up around 12-2 a.m. consistently before he slipped up on Jan. 6. I got in my stand around 2:15 and waited on him until at exactly 4:59 p.m. He creeped out into the shooting lane following a doe. The doe had stopped to eat in the feed and he did just the same. I knew without a doubt it was him and got my 7 mm mag ready and set up. I had to act quickly because he would only stay about 5 minutes on camera before he would roll out. I watched him in my scope as he was facing towards me. As soon as he turned, I made my shot and he fell right there in the feed at 150 yards. As I walked up on him, I quickly realized how big he actually was. The pictures on camera did not do him justice.”
