Karis Whitehead, 8, of Jennings killed her first turkey in Rapides Parish on April 10. She was hunting with her dad, Jared, on leased land. After many close encounters with birds earlier in the season, she was finally able to seal the deal. He came in gobbling and strutting the whole way and KK shot him at 10 yards!
