Chloe Easterling, 15, harvested her first turkey in Washington Parish. The gobbler weighed 19 pounds, had a 12-inch beard and 1 1/2-inch spurs.
Hunter Thomas was the caller. Her dad, David Easterling, was sitting with them. They heard the bird on the roost, called him in to about 25 yards and Chloe smoked him. They didn’t realize just how big he was until David posted it on Facebook and friends started texting and calling about it. Has definitely gotten a lot of attention now.
