Kelsea Watts and Brandt Bernath after a Toledo Bend trip

Kelsea Watts and Brandt Bernath with some beautiful fish caught on Feb. 27 at Toledo Bend.

“Feb. 27 started out as a slow day at Toledo Bend with a strong wind ahead of a small cold front. We left Palo Gaucho and headed to Six mile to get out of the wind. We started sac-a-lait fishing and caught 20 off of a point behind grass. Once the sac-a-lait bite turned off we headed to a canal a half a mile away and almost every cast had a bass hit the bait. From there we caught a 4.2-pound bass and a few other 2 pounders. We left Six mile around noon and headed to Palo Gaucho again to a small canal past the bridge and missed three fish, from there we started to sac-a-lait fish and caught another 15 right off the bank. Started to get close to dark when I had a gut feeling to go back to the first canal in Palo Gaucho and where I caught a 5-pound female on a down tree in the middle of the canal.”
