Addison Pichoff, 13, caught her first cobia dropping whole pogies 20 miles south of Empire.
“We launched out of Empire and a mile from the boat launch the trim motor went out. We are die hard and this was not going to stop us. We all said we will worry about this when we get back to the launch because we are fishing today. Water wasn’t ideal and very green. We started dropping whole pogies about 30 foot down and wouldn’t you know my daughter pulled up a beast of a cobia at the fourth rig. We were about 20 miles out south of Empire. More sharks than you could imagine (nephew couldn’t hang after pulling up one big one). All in all always a great day on the water with my daughter and nephew and we always have fun. Cobia was the highlight of the day.”
