Berkley Mantis

The Mantis Shrimp was designed with high-action appendages for increased movement and water displacement to attract more fish, Berkley said.

The company recommends rigging the bait using any technique appropriate for live shrimp.

On our trip with Capt. Ted DeAgano, we used an H&H popping cork and 32-inch leader, which proved to be effective on the scrappy speckled trout we were catching in Lake Anastasia.

The bait held up under intense pressure from the aggressive trout, and is another good performer in the Berkley line of plastics.
