Mag offering VIP experience at Classic

The Bassmaster Classic returns to the Louisiana Delta this February to showcase bass fishing’s biggest names and brightest stars, and Louisiana Sportsman wants to give its readers unparalleled VIP access to the weekend’s events.

Fifty of the world’s top anglers will compete for the title of 41st Bassmaster Classic champion Feb. 18-20. The competition will feature daily launches from Bayou Segnette State Park and daily weigh-ins at the New Orleans Arena. The New Orleans Convention Center will play host to the Bassmaster Classic Outdoor Expo.

The 2011 field features six former Classic champs and seven former Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Anglers of the Year, including last year’s winner Kevin VanDam.

Louisiana Sportsman will be giving away two Bassmaster Classic VIP experience packages that are for two people each, and include complimentary passes to the Media Day luncheon on Feb. 17, a backstage tour guided by BASS staff, Bassmaster Classic swag (including shirts, hats and tackle bags), access to anglers for autographs and photos, two complimentary 1-year memberships to BASS (includes subscription to Bassmaster Magazine) and two Livewell seats all three days at the Classic weigh-in show. The drawing for these two packages will be on Feb. 11.

Associate Internet Publisher Andy Crawford says the media-day event in particular is a great time to meet some of the national bass pros.

“It’s an opportunity to listen to interviews about how they’re approaching the Classic and get autographs,” he said. “That’s a big deal for someone who is a bass fisherman or a fan of bass fishing.

“All of the pros who are participating in the Classic will be there.”

In addition to the two VIP experiences, one lucky entrant will receive the grand prize of a fishing trip with Louisiana bass pro Greg Hackney, who will be making his ninth appearance at the Classic this year. The Louisiana Sportsman TV crew will also be on hand to capture all of the action for an upcoming episode of Louisiana Sportsman TV.

“Not only will they be on a boat with Hackney learning how Hackney fishes and really learning some pro techniques, they’ll be on the fishing show as well,” said Crawford. “We’ll be tagging along to shoot some side video and get a story for the website and the magazine as well.”

The drawing for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will be the day after the Classic wraps up on Feb. 21, so you can continue to sign up for this prize throughout the weekend of the event.

The sign-up form for all three giveaways will become available on Jan. 1 through a link on the front page of LouisianaSportsman.com. Anyone wishing to enter must be an active subscriber to Louisiana Sportsman magazine and must be a registered user of the website.

Be sure to also check out all the great features in the special Bassmaster Classic section of the site as soon as it becomes available on Feb. 1.

Also, Louisiana Sportsman magazine will have extended coverage of the event in a special section in the February issue.
