No matter where you fish in the country, sac-a-lait are notoriously finicky fish. They’re challenging to catch and are very sensitive to subtle weather changes.
However, Jeff Bruhl uses a product he thinks gives him an edge to get the elusive fish to strike.
“I really like using the Crappie Nibbles,” Bruhl said. “It gives the jig a little bit of scent and flavor.”
That extra scent can make the fish hold on long enough for Bruhl to hook them.
Crappie Nibbles come in multiple colors, including white, pink and chartreuse.
“If I can match the color of the tail, I’ll do that,” he said. “I don’t think the color of the (Crappie Nibbles) really matters. As long as you have that scent on there, they’ll eat it.”
Crappie Nibbles can be found at www.berkley-fishing.com and sell for $4.29 per jar.
