Golden Meadow Report 6-8-13
Onboard Saturday afternoon we had Mark Blount, Pamela Ware and Trish Wren Muller.

We started the evening out fishing in Catfish Lake for some reds and found them biting on the west side of the lake. We had to pick through the just undersize ones to make a limit before the clouds ran us in.

Sunday morning the bad weather told us to wait until another day to finish our our trip so Part 2 to be continued.

Grand Isle Report 6-8-13
Had the pleasure of taking Tish Richard, Gwen(Birthday Girl) and Tina Landry fishing out of Brideside Marina.
Meet the girls at the marina and loaded up with some live shrimp and off to the beaches we headed.

First stop we found some small fish so we decided to move. 2nd stop nothing so off we went and the 3rd stop was the spot.

Had a great time with Gwen the birthday girl and her sisters Tish & Tina. Now she can officially say that she can fish with a spinning reel. Way to go Gwen.

Golden Meadow Report 5-27-13
Onboard today we had the family (Scott, Wade and Trina) down to pass a good time down on the bayou.

We started out in the lake fishing for some reds using some bait shrimp under a popping cork and found them hungry at our first stop. We didn't limit out but was close so we decided to try for some trout.

We finally manged to put 15 keepers in the boat, but had to weed through a bunch of small ones but it didn't matter as fun times were had.

Thanks to my brother inlaws and sister inlaw for a great time on the water.

Onboard we had the Osuna (Enrique, Ingrid, Carolina and Gordie) family down to pass a good time on the bayou.

Started out Saturday evening trying for some reds and found them hungry for some bait shrimp under a cork. Fished for a few hours then watched a great sunset.

Sunday morning up and early we headed back to fish for some more reds and the bite was a little tough but found a few and mananged to put together a nice mess of fish.

Grand Isle Report 5-18-13
Onboard today we had Jimmie, Eddie and James(JT)and we headed to Grand Isle. One stop is all it took to find the trout as they were hungry and biting like crazy.

We were fishing live shrimp under a popping cork and also using tandem rigs with the Matrix shad Lemon Drop. The doggone porpoises moved in and we had a challenge on our hands trying to get them in before they caught our catch.

The bite slowed and the porpoises left and then it picked back up and we managed to put together a nice box of fish.

Loaded up the boat and headed back to Galliano Inn to clean fish.

Great day on the water with some good friends.

Leeville Trip 5-16-13
David Stark with Bent Marine joined me to go scouting for some big trout.

We loaded up with live shrimp from Terry's Live Bait and headed to West Timbalier. We found pretty green water but very few trout. The ones we did catch were real nice though.

Headed to East Timbalier and found green water again but not trout and a bunch of spanish mackerel. Didn't have a charter until Saturday so I knew we were gonna head east to Grand Isle.

Golden Meadow Report 4-21-13
Man what a windy day it was down the bayou.

Onboard we had the pleasure of taking the Hardy's from Opelousas (Harlan & Jeannine). This was their first ever salt water fishing trip and we were able to pass a good time on the water.

We started out fishing the Catfish Lake area using live minnows under a popping cork and the bite started out great but soon slowed, so off we went down Bayou Blue.

After a couple of stops we found the trout again using the Endura shrimip (white/chartruese tail) with their popping cork. Great combination.

It was time to call it a day so back to Galliano Inn fish cleaning station we went.

Golden Meadow Report 3-29-13
Had a great time bringing my daughter Carlie on a scouting trip with Anthony Taylor. We fished Friday evening and Saturday morning.

We headed straight for Catfish Lake and found some real nice specs hungry and willing to bite.
Most of the fish were caught using live cocahoe minnows under a popping cork and ranged from 15 to 19 inches.

The gang from Brookhaven Ms. came down to have some fun on the bayou and we took them on an adventure.
Onboard was Ryan & Brandi Day, Crystal Barrilleaux and Blake Simmons.
We were on a great bite until the winds picked up but still managed to put together a decent box of fish.

With the full moon, this weekend is looking like it will be a great weekend. The big trout are in the lake and it's gonna be fun.

Golden Meadow Report 10-21-12
A few weeks back I meet Rich while I was cleaning fish at the cleaning station at Galliano Inn and he requested some information on us taking him and some of his working buddies fishing. You see Rich, Steve and Sam are down here cleaning up after Hurricane Isaac and we sure thank these guys for all thier hard work. Funny thing I was telling the guys to meet me at the public landing by the ball park and asked if they knew where it was at. Steve said I sure do cause we were the ones who cleaned the landing. A big thank yall for that.

Cherie and I meet them at the landing where Rich and his wife JoAnn are from Michigan, Sam from Arkansas and Steve from Kansas were ready to experience some South Louisiana fishing.

We started off in Catfish Lake as the day before after some trout and found them biting. We had alot of throwbacks but they didn't mind as long as they were catching. After the bite slowed we headed to the ponds again to try our luck at reds. And yes they were biting.

Golden Meadow Report 10-20-12
Cherie and I had the pleasure of taking Greg & Logan Pierce, Reese Keen and Charles Rowell fishing. Logan's dad Greg had scheduled this trip to celebrate his son's 21st birthday which turned out to be a wonderful evening of fishing and a memorable one for father & son.

We got a late start due to a boat trailer bearing failure, but that didn't stop us from going get them.

We started out in Catfish Lake after some trout and only managed a few, so off it was to the ponds to chase some reds and we found them biting.

Dark thirty was fast approaching so off the lake and to the cleaning shed we went. After that the guys were headed to the camp where they cooked up some of their days catch.

Thanks so much guys for having the patience to wait on us while we repaired the boat trailer.

Had the pleasure of taking the Stelly family fishing this past Saturday. Onboard were Donald, Leonard, Greg and Joey. It's not often you get to take 3 generations fishing.

We knew it was gonna be a wet one, but since Leonard had came down from St. Louis they wanted to go fishing anyway.
We started out in Catfish Lake and caught a few trout before the rain hit us and had to move to the ponds to get out of the rough water.

There we mananged to put together a nice box of fish and decided we would call it a day once we started to heard thunder.

9-23-12 Golden Meadow Report
We had the pleasure of taking Gene & Deena Higginbotham fishing this past weekend.

Started out the morning throwing plastics under a cork and mixing it up with tandem rigs and it didn't take long and the trout were coming in. The bite lasted for a little while then played out so we decided to chase some reds.
We found some biting in the ponds fishing them with bait shrimp under a cork and managed to put toghether a nice box of fish.

Can hardly wait until the cool fronts start coming down and cool off the water. This was my first trip since the storm and it looks like our marsh took another beating from Issac, but it looks to be a great fall fishing as the lakes and marsh are loaded with shrimp.
