Leeville Trout for weekend
This weekend started out looking windy. Got up Saturday morning to no wind and the gnats were really bad. But when the gnats bite the fish bite. Left out to lake Jesse nothing, to a few more places nothing. Then made a big move to the west side first spot caught a few. Then moved again just a few. by 12:00 we only had 4 to 6 keepers. made another move to the end of a canal and got on them down in a deep hole. Caught my limit and called it a day at 2:00. It started out slow but remember just don't quit. We had to wait for tide to turn but them found fish.
The fishing got even better the latter the day got. With a good Top water bite right at dark for others.

Leeville Specks
We caught a lot of speckle trout this weekend. Everywhere we went Saturday till about 10:00 am we found trout we had them hitting live minnows under a cork are on the bottom. They also were hitting matrix shad lemon drop and tiger bait. The only problem we had was them being big enough to keep. We caught over a 100 fish Saturday morning but could only keep 35 trout. My family had a lot of fun. We also caught our first shark of the year about a 3' sand shark. He bit a live minnow. Don't know if this is a good thing. The water is starting to warm up so the bite is just going to keep getting better and the fish will keep moving to their summertime spots.
If you would like to catch some trout like this please call or email Spot On Fishing Adventures. I would love to take you. We are booking trip for the upcoming year so reserve your Spot On.

Beautiful Calm Day
Saturday was another clam day heading out. This is why I love what I do. Whose office is more beautiful than this?
I had Mr. Carl with me this day and he and I had a wonderful time. We headed out on a calm morning for the outer islands in Timbalier Bay (Brush Island to be exact) made on small stop on the way for a few fish and then ended up there. We sat there and fished plastic, just jigging it up and letting them hit it on the fall and caught all the law lets us keep. Then back at the dock for 10:00. The fish were not as big as the day before but just as fun and as many. He went home with bags of fish and a smile.
The other boat left out later and got on a late bite that day and landed 50 trout with the smallest at 19”. They were still back and cleaned up for 12:00.
I still have some openings on the upcoming weekends in May if you would like to go fishing.
Just call to book your fishing trip.

Leeville Trout are good
I had a great day on the water last Friday. I was by myself and when out into Timbalier Bay to the southern islands. The water was like glass and clear as can be. I caught a nice limit of trout with one over 5 lbs., 7 over 4 lbs., 11 over 3 lbs., and the rest over 2 lbs. We have been catching big trout on most days this year. There is a lot of trout all around the islands in the bay right now you just have to get out there and get them.

I still have some openings on the upcoming weekends in May if you would like to go fishing.
Just call to book your fishing trip.

Great Weekends are fishy
Last weekend was a great weekend on the water the couple I had put 53 in boat Saterday and 57 in the boat and Sunday. They did all this before it got hot and wanted to be back in the shade. Sorry no pictures could not get them off the phone. All the fish were caught within a 1/4' on casete island. Nothing like not having to move all over.

Headed back on this weekend for a few more days of fun. Looks like it can be another great weekend. If you see me there come say hey.
Hope to see you on the water.

Nothing Like your Frist
This weekend I had a family fishing with me that never fished before in our marsh. The look on their face when we entered the marsh and bays was great. They have never seen anything like that. After telling them about how there was land here and there it really open there eyes to how fast it was eroding. They said they have heard about how fast it was going but now they have seen. Maybe they can help us now; it only takes one person at a time to help.

After spending the first few hours teaching them to cast the rod and to fish they started to do well. They manage to put a box of trout together with a few reds. Then it got hot and was ready to go. This is some of the reason I started charter fishing, there is nothing like introducing someone to fishing in our marsh and bays. They are hooked now because they said they will be back soon.

How we did in Leeville Rodeo
The Leeville fishing rodeo for Boys Hope Grills Hope of Baton Rouge was a success. There was a good number of contest, prizes was great and a lot of them. They even gave great door prizes and a lot of them. Some weighted in some really nice fish. The winning red fish was over 7 lbs and caught in the marsh and the winning speck was over 6 lbs caught on the beach at Fourchon.

I had about 2 hours between my duties and took the kids to go get some fish to weight in. We when to sunken island in Lake Raccourci Phlo Bruce and caught 30 trout with 5 being at 2 lbs. left to get reds. Got in marsh and pick up 4 reds around 5 lbs with two 15” flounder mixed in. we had their fish to weight in every category. They both weighted their fish in the Cajun Slam. We toke 1st and 3rd in the kids division. Not too bad for having just a few hours and still had plenty time to cook for fisherman. It was a really good time and looks like it will happen again.
