Its about time!!
After scratching and clawing all through april to fill up the boxes in the lake May has been producing a much easier situation. Constant catches of 30-75 trout have been common at DockSide. Check out Capt. Kris video here as he came in with 71 today and Kristi and I making a good catch Sunday Morning. Things are getting easy and hopefully the weather stays tolerable unlike it has so far this spring.

Had the pleasure of jumping in the boat with Capt. Bubby Wednesday morning and had a ball. Very glad we ignored the weather man unlike everyone else because it was the only day we had the lake to our selves and the fish were acting like it too. Tide was falling just right and we fished the back side of trestle and fished against the current opposite of the norm and popped 27 good ones in no time. 'Big Trout on the Moons'
Well our favorite moon cycle is now here and gone. We struggled the week prior to the full moon due to cold fronts and rain but did fairly well on the back side of the moon the days following april's big moon. This weekend Kristi and I made a few nice catches, saturday afternoon was best where we landed 17 solid trout all 20plus inches. We also had a decent day monday mid day when my uncle and i snuck out for a couple hours. Not Fast and Furious but Picking off some Nice Ones
After watching Capt. Eric and Capt. Bubby come in with some nice catches using live DockSide Shrimp around noon, Tyler and I had to take a ride after we ate lunch and see what we could do with plastics. When we pulled up to the track the bite wasn't on fire but good enough to keep our attention. It was just at tide change and we were doing decent so I figured well when it goes to come in we should tag um' Wrong!
Its been crazy lately we have made some good catches this month with an incoming tide but had several times where bite died on incoming like the dirty fresh river water comes in more with it Who Knows what it is but several times we have struggled with incoming which is usually money for trestle in spring. Extremely weird spring but we catching some fish. Today's catch 9 trout one solid flounder and one big red all on Matrix Shad.

High Winds, Dirty Water but Still fish coming into DockSide Tables
High winds dirty water but fish still biting out of DockSide
Capt. Kris and his Client went out today and made a nice catch, Capt. Bubby and his crew too, as they were finishing up with cleaning their fish, Capt. Eric came in with a big catch of trout, reds and drum as he cleaned fish for over an hour. All captains were using live shrimp and made good catches in some really tuff conditions. I made a drift this am with plastics near them but had no luck with plastic so back to DockSide I went but I talked Capt. Kris to take another ride with me to check sunset bite after we closed Dockside and he was glad he did. Plastic bite has been a little off this week so it was nice to see a decent bite this afternoon. We were struggling when we got out there as we have been all week, one here and there and then a little light switch turned right at sunset as the tide started falling right at dark and the fish reacted to it. Capt. Kris and I picked off twenty nice trout up to 4 lbs and had a nice afternoon. Come see us down at DockSide as we have a decent amount of shrimp for rest of week but not sure about weekend yet. If forced to pitch plastic just stay with it and if you really wanna make it easy on yourself just call one of these guides and make sure you catch some fish.

After fishing last several days on florida panhandle I came home to see Capt. Kris has been catching well including today where we shot a clip from his catch this am with live shrimp. Kris and I went back out in the afternoon with plastics but only had 12 including huge red in pic.

Kristi and I managed a few nice ones on plastic over the weekend but anglers who had live shrimp did the most damage. On the way in one day our Suzuki failed on us and its looking like a possible blown lower unit so may he back to the reno like sunday afternoon but its a little sketchy in 15-20mph winds.
We seen a lot of nice fish come in with anglers using live shrimp back to dockside and the few moments Kristi and I were out there with plastics we managed a few good ones on the Lemon Head and Tiger Bait from www.MatrixShad.com Come see us this week, looks like another front on thursday but hopefully another nice weekend. We are getting a few live shrimp in everyday but have to be there early on weekends as its not a lot right now. We tried shrimping close to DockSide this week with little success so we will continue shipping them in from down south for next several weeks.

After constant battles to catch 10-20 fish for last 3 weeks in the Lake Tuesday was finally an easy day. Captains Kris, Steve and I ran two boats out in the lake and found pay dirt in the afternoon with a nice incoming tide. We finally found the big girls stacked up this spring. With all the rain, flooded pearl river and constant NW winds the DockSide crew and Drake decided to pack some Matrix Shads and head to 'Sweet Water Marina' to chase some big reds. Awesome time, we hung out at Sweet Water Lodge and really enjoyed our experience as always. We boated 9 big reds all day to go along with 6 nice trout. Most the reds came from the Reggio area.
