Great day fishing with a friend
My good friend and hunting buddy David Rathe joined me yesterday afternoon for a quick scout. We fished on the edges of the sound and scraped up a great box of fish. The Wind was blowing pretty good so the water was pretty dirty. I think those fish really wanted to be there because they didn't seem to mind. The action was not fast and furious but more than steady and the fish were really pretty. I think the bite in the sound is about to go off! Campos has live shrimp

Shell Beach Spot Tails
Another great trip with Brian and his friend Bernie from Indiana. The wind was blowing but the water was super high which is perfect conditions to get into the duckponds and catch some beautiful shell Beach spot tails. Both of the guys were great at fishing and started putting fish in the boat immediately at the first stop. Bait was everywhere in the marsh and it's looking like it's going to be a great spring bite.

Trophies not Groceries
Today was a spectacular day fishing with Rich Boehm and his crew. The weather is getting warmer and the pogies are starting to show up out in the sound. As I was driving out this morning I came upon a huge school of redfish busting on pogies and knew from the get-go that today was going to be a great day. My crew had never experienced anything like this. We played with them for about two hours until their arms hurt and they decided to call it quits. After that we loaded the boat with Sheephead and took it to the house. The whole crew called it the experience of a lifetime and new that without the pictures their friends back home would never believe what an incredible day they had. If you've never caught bull Reds until you screamed uncle now is the time to get out and get in on the action. I have a gentleman looking to split a boat on Sunday if anyone is interested.

Trophy Reds
Paul Breaud and his wife Angie joined me for a day of trophy Redfishing out in Breton Sound. Paul fishes with me for a week every October with his Father, Norbit, and his son, Corbin. This was his wife's first time on the boat with me. Angie caught the first fish of the day and the biggest fish of the day. We all had a blast from start to finish and it was great meeting another member of the Breaud family. If you like the idea of catching true trophy size redfish this is the time of year to do it. I still have dates available this spring and I'm already booking for the summer.

A fun day of fishing
Joe Jenks rolled into town from Minnesota for some fishing and football. He brought his 2 nieces Nina and Jackie with him. The day was great putting 15 reds plus some drum and heads in the boat. Lots of fun and a little sh!+ talking made for a fun experience for everyone. Joe plans on bringing some of his ice fishing buddies down next year. I'll see you then Joe!

another great day on the water
We put a hurting on the fish in the marsh this morning with Scott Speer and his son Eric. My crew was from Dallas Texas and fish a lot of salt water out of Galveston. They decided to take a ride to Shell Beach Louisiana and see what we got going on. Scott and Eric were great fisherman and together we boxed 74 trout, 2 reds, and 2 heads. Campos live shrimp was the ticket about 3 ft under a popping cork.

Another great day red fishing!
Andrew Artigue and his father Joe join me for another day of hot redfishing in Shell Beach. We fished in Hopedale again and were not disappointed. The redfish were pretty cooperative and we even caught a few on the gold spoons. Our final total was 15 Reds, 1 nice flounder and a nice mixed box of trout, heads, and drum.

Redfish fun
We whacked the redfish in Hopedale today. Tommy Wagner join me with his parents Mr. Charlie and Ms. Terry for a super hot red fish bite this morning. Mr. Charlie and Ms. Terry are from Texas and are true fisherman but have never fished out of Shell Beach. We fished one pond and made several stops. The bite was so good that I decided to join in on the action to bring a few filets home with me. We ended the day with 20 redfish plus a few trout and drum.\r\nSpecial thank you to Susan Danielson for the referral.

Honeymoon trip
Fun day on the water with newlyweds, Ryan and Paige Frye. This trip was part of their honeymoon and man it was a blast. The wind was pretty stiff so we stayed in Bay Eloi for most of the day. We put a great box of fish together with a total of 50 specks, 2 reds, and 2 heads.rnrnJakamo South is a New Orleans fishing charter operating out of Shell Beach,LArnAll fish were caught on Campo’s live shrimp!!!

like father, like sons
Paul Saltaformagio joined me with his father Paul Sr. and his brother Mike. It was a one stop shop for us today. The fish were hitting pretty well, but more importantly, my guys brought their A-game for sure. I'm thinking we may have missed 10 fish total all morning. Paul Sr. had the hot hand, whacking one fish after another. Mike and Paul stayed hot on his heels until we finished them up. We ended the day with 75 trout and another trip booked next week.rnrnJakamo South is a New Orleans fishing charter operating out of Shell Beach,LArnAll fish were caught on Campo’s live shrimp!!!

another great day on the water
Good day fishing with Charlie Garretson and his good friend and local sheriff Alex Hodge. They drove down the evening before from Hattiesburg and stayed at Capt. Frank's camp in Shell Beach. I picked them up for 5:00 and we headed out. The wind was blowing out of the west at 15 so we were stuck fishing lees in Eloi. They made us work for them but my guys wouldn't give up. We fished hard and finally got to the number we needed. We ended the day with 50 specks and some happy anglers.rnrnJakamo South is a New Orleans fishing charter operating out of Shell Beach,LArnAll fish were caught on Campo’s live shrimp!!!

2 days of specks and reds
A good couple of days with Reggie Hayes and his father Pat. The father and son duo come down from Indiana(Pat) and New York(Reggie) for 4 days of hardcore fishing in Louisiana. They spent the first two days fishing in Venice, La catching tuna and grouper. They spent the last two days fishing trout and reds with me in Shell Beach, la. Day one the guys were pretty worn out from their previous two days so we went out into the Sound looking to catch some trout early and take it to the house. After a couple of stops and just a handful of trout and 1 jack crevelle, I got a call on the radio from Capt. Jonathan (Reel Excitement Charters) that he was on a ferocious bite and to get there quick. So we slide on in as Jonathan finished up and the specks started hitting the deck. We made quick work of it and took it to the house. The next day we woke up to some fairly high winds. We decided to stay close in Bay Eloi and fish some lee shorelines before we went looking for reds. We put a few in the  box before we went to the Biloxi marsh to catch our reds. Our total for each day was:rnDay 1- 75 specks and 1 redrnDay 2- 32 specks and 10 redsrnrnThese guys are hardcore and fished incredibly well and I can't wait to get them on the boat again next year.rnrnJakamo South is a New Orleans fishing charter operating out of Shell Beach,LArnAll fish were caught on Campo’s live shrimp!!!

Summer Heat
The summer heat is here and the trout love it. Had a great day with AJ Madison, his wife Tracy, and their 2 sons Abdul and Ahmad. We made one stop in the Sound and slowly started pecking away at some good sized trout. There was no tide movement and those Campo's live shrimp were doing the trick so I didn't want to leave. Capt. Brandon (Reel Shot Guide Service) was on the other side of the rig and really started to put some fish in the boat. He hollered at me to squeeze on in and before you knew it we were on the fish too. Ms. Tracy was the angler of the day catching the only bull red and some of the prettiest trout in the box. The bite slowed to nothing, the water never moved, and the temperature kept rising. We called it a day with 71 specks, 1 bull red, and 4 sheepshead. AJ and his family had a blast and will be returning this fall when the temps. are much more reasonable. Special thanks to Capt. Brandon for letting me slide in on great bite.rnrnJakamo South is a New Orleans fishing charter operating out of Shell Beach,LArnAll fish were caught on Campo’s live shrimp!!!

A talented young fisherman
Fun day fishing with Buster Anderson, James, and Buster's grandson Eliot. We had a successful day bouncing around in Bay Eloi. Big Eliot (10 yrs old) was by far one of the most talented young fisherman that I have fished with. This kid was casting on the money, sticking the fish, and flipping em in the boat like a natural. I'm telling you guys he's going to be a great fisherman. Any way we ended the day with 88 trout and 1 red. I can't wait to get them back on the boat.Jakamo South is a New Orleans fishing charter operating out of Shell Beach,LArnAll fish were caught on Campo’s live shrimp!!!

Windy day
Well the wind really picked up today. I picked up Harold Anderson, his son Trevor, and his father Wendell from Breton Sound marina for 5:00am. The wind was blowing 15 on our side of the SSW so our options were limited concerning trout fishing. We fished around the MRGO and a couple lee shorelines in Eloi. We caught a few trout but the keepers were few and far between. We decided to change the game plan and go look for a few reds. We went to the Biloxi Marsh, and at the second stop hit a decent lick. We bounced around the same pond and picked away to top off the box. We ended the day with1 Bull Red (that we released) 15 reds, 3 heads, and 8 trout.rnrnJakamo South is a New Orleans fishing charter operating out of Shell Beach,LArnAll fish were caught on Campo’s live shrimp!!!
