Good Day
Wow what a wonderful day in Delacroix today. All the charter boat captains basically limited out. Some customers limited out. Then there were the ones who had close to their limit. Overall it was some awesome fishing today. Our shrimp situation is scarce again the tanks approximately have 2500 shrimp. Good news is jack spoke with Mr. Lionel and if you launch at Sweetwater he has no problem selling our customers shrimp. Captain Jack made a mistake thinking if you launched with us he wouldn’t sell our customers shrimp. Mr. Lionel and little Lionel personally told Jack that they will sell our customers shrimp although they launched at Sweetwater. Some more good news is that we have a room available tonight there was a late cancellation. If you call tonight you will get a deal for 159, which is TONIGHT only. If you have time and want to catch some beautiful fish, the tides are looking good and the weather is supposed to be great according to the weather guy. If you have time come on down and get it in on the action because it’s hot right now. Hoping to see you this Memorial Day weekend. We also have a few charters left this month for Jack and there are also other charter captains that we can get to go out as well. Lodging is available throughout these summer months, but they are booking fast. Call and reserve your room today. 504 342 2368

Just for fun
Yesterday Captain Jack fished on the outside and caught 57 trout. They decided to come on the inside and fish for reds. They ended up catching 20 reds. The fishing outside is good if the weather permits. Today Captain Jack fished with Larry, his brother in law and son. Today wasn’t a day for fish hunting they pretty much went out to play around. They came back to the dock with 12 reds, 12 trout, 2 drum, and 1 sheep head. Today was a quick easy day. Be sure to call the lodge ahead of time for the availability on shrimp. The shrimp situation should be getting better being that the shrimp are coming from the west bank now. Also the brown shrimp season opened on the inside so that means he will not have to go as far. Sorry for the inconvenience; shrimping is a very tough business. Jack has two days available for charters the 28th and 30th. Get your spot while it’s still available. All the weekends in June are booked, so therefore the days during the week are available. We still have the Sweetwater special for 18$; a boat launch, bag if ice, and dead bait. Remember we are the second marina. Give us a call to book charters/lodging 504 342 2368. Don’t forget to call ahead of time for shrimp.

The weather has been outstanding this past week. Fishing has been countless. Jack has been doing charters these past 3 weeks. Things are starting to pick up around here fast. Today’s fishing was really good. Some captains went on the outside to fish for trout in Iron Bank and Stone Island. Also reports that there are still trout around in little lake. The reds are all over grand lake. Over all the fishing was good. Some did excellent. Some even had a tough day like Captain Jack. Jack caught 10 reds, 2 flounder, 3 trout, 5 drum, and 50 throw back reds. Come on down to Sweetwater the weather is great in Delacroix and so is the fishing. People were coming back as fast as they were launching with their boxes of fish. Jack has the 28 and 30 of this month available for a trip if you’re looking to go out and get on the fish. There are still availabilities on the rooms. Give us a call. Oh and be sure to call ahead of time before you come for the convenience of shrimp. See ya soon! 504 342 2368. Remember we have the Sweetwater special; a bag of ice, dead bait, and a boat launch for 18 bucks.

We had a couple captains go out today. One captain mentioned that it was pretty tough. He ended up coming back with a mixed box. Consisted of some trout, red, and drum. There was also a group who came back with reds and drum. They said it wasn’t the best day but the fishing was consistent. All the customers were happy who did go out on charters. They all came back with smiles on their face. Fishing is getting tough on the inside. If you want to get on the trout you may want to look like running on the outside. As far as the reds and drums there about ten minutes from the dock. Ask about our Sweetwater special; dead bait, ice, and a launch for 18 bucks. If you’re coming down tomorrow be sure to call ahead for shrimp to see the availability. Or you may want to get them before you come down. Sorry for the inconvenience at the moment. The fishing has been steady. Everybody is catching fish. Some anglers bringing in mixed boxes. Then there are the ones who are going after the reds and coming back with just what they wanted. Jack has the 28th and 30th available if anyone would like to book a charter. Rooms are booked for the weekend. There are plenty days in June available for a trip. Don’t miss out. Give us a call 504 342 2368. Don’t forget to call before you come for the shrimp.

Reports from Monday-thursday
The weather is finally looking up for Delacroix. Bright skies and calm winds. Captain Jack fished with Mr. Gary from Paradise Louisiana on Tuesday. They ran to the outside and caught 67 beautiful trout. Jack had a charter yesterday as well and ran to the same spot. The outcome was 20 trout. They fished the same time and same method. There were boats surrounding them as they fished so they decided to come and in get on some redfish. Jack had a charter today too. They stayed on the inside and caught 17 reds and 25 drum. The fishing has been pretty consistent, not fantastic, but there is some action going on. Some come on down to Sweetwater and join in on some fun. Don’t forget we have the Sweetwater special; dead bait, boat launch, and ice for 18 bucks. Also we have live shrimp. That’s what the fish prefer. Better get down this way before all these captains catch all the fish. There are plenty days of charters open in June. Call us and we will get you set up. Jack has trips all through this week and next week. Reports will be posted. Remember we are the second launch; we have live shrimp and the Sweetwater Special. You can’t beat the staff and our new launch is just awesome. Call us today to book a trip and/or lodging. 504 342 2368

Bad start good ending
Today’s start to the day wasn’t too fond. We had Heavy rain and lots of lightning. What I can say is that Once the weather cleared up that’s when the boats started to trickle in. The anglers today came back with nice messes of fish; reds and trout. 25 trout per boat at the most in the short amount of time they did get to fish. All fish are being caught on live bait. The reds and trout prefer the live shrimp instead of fresh. The reds are everywhere right now. So come on down to Sweetwater if you want to know where to go get the reds and trout. Captain Jack will be around in the morning to put you right in the spot. He will be glad to show you on the map. The weather should be cleared up for tomorrow so bring mom out for some Mother’s day fun on the water. There are plenty of live shrimp in the tanks and that’s what the fish want. I kid you not you will do better with the live shrimp. Sweetwater special is 18$ which includes a boat launch, 20lb bag of ice, and a bag of dead bait. Charters and lodging are booking up fast as summer months are coming. Call today for availabilities and get in on the action. 504 342 2368. We are looking forward to seeing you and I’m sure you are anxious to test out the new launch anyway.

Yucky weather
Yesterday people did really well fishing out of Sweetwater. Some had limits of trouts some reds and some just had a mix of fish. Today Jack fished with Jim Ponti and his buddy Joe from Texas. They caught a limit of reds in an hour and a half So they decided to go trout fishing. They actually ended up getting hit by bad weather. Overall total today was 15 reds, 2 trout, and 3 drums. If this weather holds out get on down to Sweetwater and join in on the action. You do not wanna miss out. Jack is pretty much booked through this month only a few days are open maybe you can get put in somewhere. Give us a call to book a charter and/or lodging. Spots are filling up fast. Summer will be here shortly and the fishing will be intense. Also we still have the Sweetwater special for 18 bucks which includes a boat launch, a bag of dead bait, and a 20lb bag of ice. Oh and Mother’s day is coming up as well maybe you can take mom out to catch some fish. Oh and we have live shrimp. All fish have been caught on live shrimp. Remember we are the second boat launch. 504 342 2368

Yucky weather
The days are getting prettier but seem like the winds getting stronger. Jack fished yesterday afternoon with Jacque, his wife, sister, and mom. They wanted to just have a little fun. So they went and caught 3 reds and 25 drum. Jack fished this morning with Bill Dillon and his crew today. They ended up with 21 trout 9 reds and 5 flounders. Fishing has been tough the last few days due to the crazy winter weather in May, but still seems to mange to put some in the box. Fishing should get better every day from this point on. Jack has charters all week so we will be posting reports daily. Captain Chris informed Jack that he went on the outside today and caught 40- nice trout and some reds. We have plenty live shrimp available. There are still spots in the books open for charters and lodging. Give us a call. We are booking up mighty fast. Don’t forget the Sweetwater special is now 18$: includes a boat launch, bag of ice, and dead bait. Remember we are the second boat launch.

Captain Jack - Sweetwater Marina
Todays fishing wasn’t bad – but not great either. Captain Jack had charters this morning and this afternoon. They headed out to American Bay and this morning caught 25 trout and 9 reds. This afternoon was a little better with 29 trout and 7 reds. Capt Jack has charter’s booked all week, so he will be keeping everyone up to date on fishing conditions and where the fish are biting. Weather is looking up for the next couple of days, the water is getting better every day, the tanks are full of live shrimp and we have a great new launch. We still have a couple of rooms and charters available for the weekend, so if Mom likes to fish bring her down to Sweetwater (504-342-2368) for a great Mother’s Day weekend. Sweetwater special is still on. $18.00 for a bag of dead shrimp, 20lb bag of ice and a launch. Remember, we are the second launch.

Fishing
Southeast Louisiana
Sweetwater Marina, Delacroix
What a beautiful day today down in Delacroix at Sweetwater. 20 mph predicted NW winds turned out to be light winds. As a result some fishermen had really great trips. One boat had the limit of trout, a couple others had around 35 trout. Most anglers who gave it a shot today had about 5 reds average each boat and a handful of trout. Can’t say for sure about the weather tomorrow, but as I am writing this report there is absolutely no wind. We have plenty beautiful live shrimp and Captain Jack will be here to put you in the areas where they were catching today. So don’t miss out on this beautiful fishing weather. Remember, we still have the Sweetwater Special - $18.00 – bag of shrimp, 20lb bag of ice and a GREAT NEW LAUNCH. We have lodging still available for the summer months and charters, but things are booking up fast, so don’t wait too long. Hope to see you soon.

tough
Today Captain Jack fished with Brad Miller, his dad (Brad), and a friend. Conditions were quite tough as they ended the day with about 40 trout. Believe it or not fishing for Jack was tough as well, but they fished until about 3oclock. Tried hard all day long and also ended up with a couple of reds. Couple of the captains who went out limited out on reds and had decent numbers of trout. Some of our great customers had limits of trout. We spoke with our shrimper and he is having issues right now. Be sure to call on availability of shrimp before coming. We are hoping he will come fill the tanks tonight. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause. Charters and lodging are available. Come down to Sweetwater; Jack will be around in the am to give out some tips.

Updte
I know it has been windy, but the fishing is just great in Delacroix. We have beautiful Sweetwater shrimp, probably about 5 or 6 thousand in the tank. The conditions are rough, but great. The Holy Mackerel went out and caught a bunch of fish. If you want to get on the action, Jack has no trips this week he is working around the marina so he will be around to give you great tips. The boat launch is fantastic. Not a single truck has problems backing down or pulling out. Remember we are the second marina.

an updte
Crazy start to the day, but it turned out to be breathtaking. Not quite sure about the winds tomorrow, anchorman said they weren’t going to be too strong. Who knows, its Delacroix your talking about. Believe it or not this afternoon there is no wind. Hopefully tomorrow is going to be great day with no little wind. We all know there is fish to be caught and fried. For the ones looking for something to do come on down to Sweetwater and get on some of these big pretty trout that are on the inside. This week the guides that were out showed up to the dock with numbers of fish as well as our customers. Some customers even came back with limits. The boat launch is working out better than expected, its top notch for those who do not know. We have plenty live bait so if you get the opportunity; come on down and enjoy it why we still have it. Plenty plenty trout on the insides close to Delacroix. Get down here so you can get to whacking and packing.

Weekend Report
Wow! What an awesome stretch of weather. The mornings are mild, the days are bright and cool and the afternoons are back at the dock showing off your catch! The fishing has been great. Saturday Captain Jack had 2 boats go out, they stayed on the outside. They came back to the dock showing off their number of fish. Everyone was pleased and enjoyed their time. 4 boats went out Sunday, including Captain Jack; he fished with Mr. Earl Dufrene, whom is the guy with the concrete truck down here helping with the launch. They stayed on the inside and came back to the dock showing off their awesome catch. All fish were caught on live shrimp and Matrix Shad. Come and get you some! I’m sure everyone is anxious to know about the status of the boat launch and we are praying for it to be completed by this weekend. If it’s not one thing it’s another. Our launch may be closed, but the shop surely isn’t. So if you need shrimp, minnows, Matrix, and a pointer on the fish etc. come down to Sweetwater and GET YOU SOME. Charters and lodging are available. 504-342-2368
