About Us

Cajun Fishing and Hunting Charters - Specializing in coastal fishing for speckled trout, redfish and seasonal duck hunting/fishing combos in Southeast Louisiana.
Now offering Night time bow fishing and fresh water guided fishing trips.

Welcome to Sportsman's Paradise. I am located in Houma and fish out of the Cocodrie and Dularge areas. Houma is about 50 miles west of New Orleans.  I offer inshore fishing for redfish, speckled trout, flounder, sheep head and black drum.  Freshwater fishing for largemouth bass, sacalait(crappie to you yankee types.) bream, and catfish.  We also have night-time bow fishing trips where we target redfish, black drum, sheep head and alligator gar.

My duck hunting and fishing combo trips are very popular. I call them a BLAST AND CAST.  Spend a morning in the duck blind shooting at a wide variety of ducks from gadwall, widgeon, green winged, blue winged teal, pintail, and our native mottled ducks to divers such as redheads, canvasbacks and bluebills; followed with an afternoon of catching trophy redfish and speckled trout.

All trips are all inclusive, fuel, tackle, rods and reels and bow fishing equipment included.Half day or full day trips. Please let me know if you have any special requests so I can make your trip world class. Louisiana fishing is always good, but I will do everything that I can to make it great!!

Check out my website for more information.

Windy day redfish
Great two days fishing with the Fedoreks . Third trip with me , all the way from Pennsylvania to their favorite destination inrnLouisiana .. these guys kept me laughing all day .rnWe found steady action but had to keep moving ... running and gunning . The gator tail came in handy . Run down the bank looking for reds . When we saw large groups of fish just let it calm down for 15 minutes and make a pass.. They would be settled down and ready to eat our gold spoons and fresh shrimp under a cork. Look for the snot grass, and you will find the clear water and lots of hungry redfish..great times . 11 year old Gracie showed us all how it was done . She was on the front deck right next to me, never even taking a break .rnCapt Anthony rnwww.cajunfishingandhuntingcharters.comrn985-870-5909

The other white meat!!
We have had so much fun this week catching monster sheephead, bull reds and drum. Fresh shrimp on a 1/4 oz jighead , simple but so effective . Just fish any wellhead from Fourchon to Dularge and you will see them on every piling.rnYou just need a nice calm day. No tide, no worries they are always biting . Yesterday we had 50 sheephead that filled uprna wheel barrow .. some hammas!! rnSpool up with 50-65 spider wire and crank them up quick because they will break you off with wimpy tackle. Please call me for a great day on the water. We can put you on any fish you want to catch ..Redfish , trout, sheephead , bass and sacalait..rnCapt. Anthony Kyzarrnwww.cajunfishingandhuntingcharters.comrn985-870-5909

Bass Fishing

Cocodrie / DuLarge in South Central Louisiana

Bass and Sacalait Throwdown
What a day in the marsh south of Houma .. Loaded uprnwith Capt. Chris Venable and James Calliouet..We wanted Sacalait but made a stop for bass and found them stacked rnrnup!!!! Beautiful fish .. eating up a spinnerbait. They were on the bank in a foot of water on beds.. You could seernrnthem chasing perch off the bed. Throw in there and hold on tight. Booyah 1/4 oz spinnerbaits in golden shiner and chartreuse and white . We also caught some good fish on a Zoom 10' red bug lizard on a 1/8 oz weight. Look for clear water in dead end canals . We had over 50 bass in about 4 hours of fishing and the best 5 fish stringer was pushing 20lbs.rnrnWe even got about 20 Sacalait as a bonus !!!rnrnThis front will slow things down again but look for them to turn on again on the next warming trend . Call me for a great freshwater or saltwater experience ..rnrnCapt Anthonyrnrnwww.cajunfishingandhuntingcharters.comrnrn985-870-5909

Freshwater Fishing

Sacalait Smackdown
Yesterday I had Marc Dix and his buddy Robert from Harvey. They are avid Sacalait fishermen and saw my reports on Sacalait. We were one of two die hards leaving Bayou Black Marina in 20 mph north winds and drizzling rain . When we hit the ICW and saw the white caps I thought we were going to struggle a bit .. rnOur first stop confirmed that . Not a bite .rnStop two we caught a bass and one Sacalait ..a little sign of life ...then stop three we found clear water and it was a little protected from the howling winds.. It just had the right look, corks should be going under .. then we caught a nice big female about three feet off the bank ..then another and another .. Triple hook ups ..high fives.. rnWe would make a drift with the power pole set to drag in the grass and slow us down . Just throw them on the floor I told the guys ... 38 fish the first pass .. 50 the next and so it went.rnIt took four hours but the final count was 150 nice Sacalait with 20 bass and some nice perch as well.rnBlack and chartreuse was the color they wanted and it seemed like the brighter the chartreuse the better .. curly tails , tube jigs on a 1/32 oz jighead .. The fish were in all stages of the spawn . Pre spawn , spawning and post spawn. You wanted to cast an inch from the bank and work the bait back out at least 5' from the bank .. rnThe big females were under floating debris which I found funny with no sun out .. but I think they were staging there getting ready to move up and spawn ... This cold front will slow things down a little .. if we had a three or four day period of 70-80 degree weather all these fish would go to the bank and spawn out . The fish that have allready moved up will be biting , but the next wave of fish will be moving up on the next warming trend ..If you guys want to get in on the action give me a call.rnCapt Anthony rnwww.cajunfishingandhuntingcharters.comrn985-870-5909

Freshwater Fishing

Cocodrie / DuLarge in South Central Louisiana

Sacalait Time Again...
Spring Time is coming...My favorite time for freshwater action.. Sacalait and bass are getting ready for the spawn as the weather warms up. They are allready starting to bite well in the marshes south of Houma. Right now they are staging on the grass edges, on laydowns or on the bases of cypress trees. Look for clear water to turn on first. Then as it warms up in the marsh look for clean banks without any grass or floating debris. The sacalait move onto these key stretches to spawn. It can be frustrating as you may have to fish the whole canal just to find them stacked up on a 20 foot stretch. Use a small cork and a 1/32oz jighead, we have been doing great on a black and chartruese curly tail. Just start at 18' and vary it until you find the right depth.rnrnThe afternoons will be better as the sun heats the water up a few degrees all day...rnrnI will be running fresh water trips for sacalait and bass this spring out of Bayou Black. Give me a shout if you want to get in on the action..rnrnIt will be $500 for a half day trip for up to three anglers.rnrnCapt. Anthonyrnrnwww.cajunfishingandhuntingcharters.comrnrn985-870-5909rnSome of these pictures are from last year....

Blasting and Casting
This duck season has been so busy that we have not been posting too many reports. We have been very fortunate to have a bunch of ducks this season on our property. More divers than puddle ducks but everyone is having a great time and getting a lot of shooting. rnrnWe have had hunters from all over the US and most have been on guided hunting and fishing trips all over the world. Shot mallards in Arkansas, sea ducks in Maine, geese in Canada.. Doctors , lawyers and just good ole evey day hard working folk that have saved money all year to come on a Louisiana hunting and fishing adventure. It just makes my day as a guide when they tell us that this is the best trip they have ever been on. Granted we killed limits of scaup with a few redheads and other ducks to fill our stringers....and loads of coots. We have made sure these guys just had a great time. We had three man groups shooting a case of shells in a morning hunt...rn We have been capping off great hunts with awesome fishing trips... tearing up the redfish, sheephead and drum with a few trout. Then breaking out the boiling pot and boiling seafood for the guys for an end to a great day. Then having them want to put my crawfish dip on sandwiches and any other edible item..Man thats good stuff. I had a group from Canada tell me that my shrimp boil was the best meal of their life.rnrnShout out to Capt. Josh Ellender, Capt. Olden Rodrigue, Capt. Chris Venable, Capt. Rob Chauvin and Capt. Austin Lacour for helping me take great care of everyone we have had the last few weeks..rnrnWe still have some days open for duck hunting or a blast and cast. Go check out my website and please give us a shout for a great day on the water. Bring the wives and kids..nice comfortable blinds . Just wear knee bootsrnCapt. Friendly guides that love to show you a great day on the water!!!We have blinds for up to 25 hunters, so no group is too large or too small.rnrnThe redfish and trout have been stacked up in the deep canals on cold days when the water is low and just move back into the bays and ponds as soon as it warms up. We are catching the reds on fresh shrimp under a cork..The trout have been hitting plastics under a cork when it is warm and just dragged on the bottom on the cold days.rnrn(5) or more hunters call for special pricing..rnrnCheck out my website for more info.rnrnwww.cajunfishingandhuntingcharters.comrnrn985-870-5909

The week of Redfish!!
This week was all about the redfish..Everyone came from out of state and they all wanted a taste of our world famous redfishing.rnWith all the fronts the water was dirtier than normal. So each day we stopped a shrimper and loaded up on fresh caught 40/50 count shrimp and off we went. Cajun thunder corks with a fresh shrimp on a 4/0 kahle hook. Kept it simple and loaded the boat with nice redfish..Everyone went home happy.rnBooking Blast and Cast Trips in the Houma area. Shallow Water Redfish
The weather has been hot and the fishing is on fire!!! We are seeing large schools of redfish in the shallows north of Cocodrie. Just wait for a calm day and find clear water. The schools are so big that you can see them from 500 yards away.rnTie on a 1/2oz gold johnson silver minnow spoon and tip it with a piece of shrimp..just kidding.rnI use a small pink or chartreuse curly tail to add a little color and it also makes the spoon a little more accurate to cast. It won't glide off of target quite as bad.. You can get close to the fish but it is nice to have a good 7' rod and quality reel that will really make a long cast when you spot a school that is far away.rnTry the areas of Wonder Lake, Lake Robinson and Madison Bay, they all have large schools of fish right now.rnI have a few days open during the week, so give me a call.rnCapt. Redfish Slam-A-Rama
I had Jamie Ferrington and his two sons todayrnOn the Gator Tail.. We were running to where the reds werernStacked last week and came across a massive schoolrnOf redfish.. Hundreds of fish tailing in a foot of water or lessrnI literally stopped the motor and had 50 fish within 20' of the boat. It was fish on every cast .. It took about 30 minutes to putrnNumber 20 in the cooler..Gold spoons, spinnerbaitsrnAnd zoom flukes all thrown on braid ..Jamie must of thought I was crazy , the way 'the guide' got so excited seeing that many fish.. What a feeling , casting into such big schools of redfish.rnWe are going get them in the fly-rod tomm.rnThat is going to be awesome!!rnCapt. Slinging Arrows in the Marsh
Spent a fun Saturday night in the marsh with Chris James and crew. Dirty water made the fish hard to see in our first location. Made a little move and started seeing some nice redfish, drum, sheephead and a ton of alligator garfish.rnThe guys hit some and missed some but it was fun and big smiles by all. A good first trip for the new dual Gator Tail rig. It is rigged and ready so please call me if you want to get in on some bowfishing. I promise to show you a great time on the water.rnCapt. Seeing Red!!
We had a really great week catching redfish. I ran trips from Falgout Canal in Dularge and Sharky's landing by Lake Boudreaux and found the redfish stacked up in both areas. We all had 1/2 oz Johnson gold spoons tied on and that was all we needed. Mostly sight casting to tailing and fish pushing. Nice schools of up to 30 fish with their tails out of the water in a foot of water and some smaller schools as well. Just look for clear water and large grass beds. The big schools are not on the bank, they have been out in the open on the edges of submerged grassbeds. They were really easy to spot when it was calm, sometimes we had 4-5 schools visible at one time.rnGet you a small step ladder for the front deck and it is amazing at how much better you can see these fish.rnCapt.
