Great Day Catching!! 8-21-14
Jay and Trey Hatcher and Misti Borderlon joined me today. Redfish again today was our target. Our first few stops had us with a goose egg. We made a move and found the fish waiting for us. We loaded the K2 to the top again and could barely close the lid. Reds and puppy drum every cast! Good times by all. Jay and Trey went back and forth on catching the largest red!! Thanks again guys for another great day of catching. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Good as it Gets!! 8-20-14
David and Darlene Landry joined me on the Bluewave today. We found a slow bite at our first stop. We picked away at the fish as they came in spurts. Our second stop found the fish stacked as we had them coming in every cast. We filled the K2 to the top as we could hardly close the lid. My crew had the time of their life reeling in all of the reds and puppy drum. They will have sore arms tomorrow!!! Thanks guys for a great day. rnrnCapt. Battling Bronze Backs 8-19-14
John Dongieux had such a good time last month fishing with me, that he was back today. His son Brennan joined us also. Our first stop found a slow incoming tide, then it went slack for hours. With only one fish in the K2 it was past time to move. Our next stop found a couple more fish but slow. Capt Rob was on a hot bite and called me over. Upon pulling up The Chick-Fil-A crew with Capt Rob were smashing the reds. We squeezed in and slowly got in on the action. As the tide started to fall the bite even got better. My crew were reeling in fish every cast. Some bigger reds 27-28 inches moved in and it was hard to put any keepers in the K2. We weeded through the bigger fish and added some puppy drum to the mix. The guys threw in the towel with their arms burning and the K2 full to the top. Another great trip to add to the books with John. rnrnBig thanks to Capt Rob and Capt Travis for running the other two boats with Chick-Fil-Arn rnrnCapt. Smokin Hot Reds 8-18-14
Bubba and Ryan Flournoy were back onboard the big Bluewave today. Ryan was in town from New York and his girlfriend meaghan from Canada joined us. High winds today had us tucked away in a protected area. One stop shop today, at a new Honey Hole we haven't fished yet this year. No sooner than we pulled up the Shimano rod/reels were screaming. It was fish on just about every cast. My crew loved every second of it. Once our 20 reds were iced down in the K2, they caught and released fish until their arms were tired!! It just doesn't get any better than fishing down in Terrebonne Parish. Thanks again guys for such a terrific morning. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Du Reds 8-17-14
We wrapped up day three with our Coca Cola crew today. We only had two boats running with the group today. With the wind blowing again, we only had one option...reds! We found a nice slow incoming tide upon arriving on location (exactly what we needed). The reds did not cooperate, as we made multiple moves only finding a few fish. We threw cracked crab, gold spoons, and Matrix Shad with gold spinners. The guys had a great three days, and are going back to Atlanta loaded down with fillets. Thanks guys and we look forward to your return. rnrnBig thanks to Capt T Miller for running the second boat with Coca Cola and Capt C Venable for taking care of William Beards crew. rnrnrnCapt. Coca Cola Crew & Reds 8-16-14
Day two with our Coco Cola group had us targeting reds again. The tide was ripping this morning which made for a super slow bite. We made a move into the shallow ponds covering a lot of water without a bite. We returned to our original location to find a slower tide and biting fish. The bite was nothing like previous days, but the guys pecked away at the fish. Everyone had a great time and were pleased with the catch!! Fun times with these guys, thanks. rnrnBig thanks to Capt T Miller and Capt C Venable for running the other boats showing the guys a great time. rnrnrnCapt. Busted The Reds 8-15-14
Scott Corley and crew with Coco Cola was back onboard the big Bluewave today. Redfish was the target and the guys were not disappointed. The reds are stacked this time of year and are simple to catch. As soon as we pulled up to the honey hole, it was fish on. The guys rods were bent and drags on the Shimano reels were singing. In no time my crew iced down 15 fat reds. The tide picked up and the bite shut down. We had 17 iced down in the K2 and needed 3 more. We made a short move and put the last three to seal the deal. Good times by all, thanks guys. rnrnBig thanks to Capt Travis Miller and Capt Rob Dupont for running the other two boats and to Capt Josh Ellender for the great team work today. Good team work and communication results in fish for everyone. rnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Bow Fishing Bonanza
Lance Trotti and crew came down to the Reel Inn Dularge to experience our bow fishing. We had two boats running tonight. The night started off slow only seeing a few fish in the stained/murky water. I told my crew we were not going to give up and we kept searching. Finally later in the night the tide started moving and the marsh came alive with reds every where!! We lost count of the reds we saw and shot at. The guys were shooting at pairs of reds multiple times. Incredible action as the crew had a fabulous time on the Gator Tail. Capt C Venable ran the second boat with the same results. It just doesn't get any better. Thanks guys for another great trip for the books. rnrnThanks Capt Chris for showing your crew a great time and putting them on the fish. rnrn rnCapt. Trout and Red Action 8-13-14
It was good having Nathan Knowles back onboard today. Nathan's good friend Al Rangai also joined us. We were greeted with choppy seas and windier conditions than expected this morning. We still found clean water and plenty fish, except they were all small fish. We must have caught close to if not 100 trout, but only 8 made the cut. Double rigged Matrix Shad as always produced all of our fish. After multiple stops we decided Plan B needed to be put into action!! As soon as we arrived to the red fish battle grounds it didn't take long at all for my crew to double up!!! It was fish on, as the rods were bent and reels were screaming. Doesn't take long to ice down a limit of reds when they are hungry!! With the K2 stuffed and the guys arms wore out, we headed back to the lodge to clean fish. Another great day with great company. Thanks again guys. rnrnSpecial thanks to Capt Josh Ellender for the good communication and team work while on the water today. Everyone wins with good team work!!rnrnCapt. Night Time Trout 8-9-14
Toby Rich with Whitliejo Specialty and Camp Greasy Prop were back with us for another night trip. Hot as can be during the day so it's great to beat the heat!! We headed out with a two boat crew and were greeted with beautiful calm seas!! We started catching a few fish before dark and the bait showed up early. The trout were busting shrimp all under the lights, which made it seem it was going to be on!! Well, we picked and picked away all night. We could literally see hundreds of trout on the surface chasing shrimp but we could only get a bite every so often!! The winds picked up and storms started building to our West. We started to get on a decent run, and we could see the lighting getting closer to us. That was a wrap!!! We packed up and got out of dodge, safety first always. Good times by all, and the guys ended up with a nice catch despite the slow bite. Double rigged Matrix and Vortex Shad produced all of our fish. Thanks again Toby for the continued business. rnrnBig thanks to Capt T Miller for running the second boat. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

More Trout and Reds 8-9-14
Mike Stutes and crew jumped onboard with me and Capt T Miller and Ronnie Russo jumped on Capt J Ellender's boat. We headed south for Trout and were greeted with calm seas. Conditions were perfect but the fish would not cooperate. We were getting hit every cast (double rigged Matrix Shad), but it was mostly short strikes and small fish. We put some quality trout in the K2, but no quantity today. We moved around picking away through small fish at most of our stops. With the heat rising, we decided to head to the red fish hole. Upon arrival the bite was slowing down. Many boats had limited out already, but the tide went slack and the bite shut off. We gave it three hours just picking away at the reds, until we almost had a heat stroke!!!! The tide never started moving and the reds never did turn back on like yesterday. Even though it was a slower bite than usual the guys put a good mess of fish together and were pleased. Happy customers is all that counts, thanks again guys. rnrnBig thanks to Capt Travis Miller and Capt Josh Ellender for running the other boats. Great team work guys. rnrnrnCapt. Trout & Red Bashing 8-8-14
Al & Nathan Reaux and Blaise & Josh Champagne were back on the big Bluewave today. We targeted trout early then reds. The gulf was a bit choppy this morning, which made me change my game plan. Our first stop was slow, picking away at 10 fish. Our next few stops were slow also just picking away. We found birds diving on shrimp and started slinging some fish into the K2. Double rigged Matrix Shad in Tiger and Avocado did all the damage. The bite never got hot like the previous days, so at 10:30 we switched gears to redfish. As soon as we arrived at the honey hole it was redfish every cast!! East as it gets as the reds stack up this time of year and are simple to catch. My crew put the limit of reds in the Bluewave in short order, as it was double to quadruple hook ups every cast!! We left the reds biting to return to the lodge. Always enjoy fishing with Al, thanks. rnrnBig thanks to Capt T Miller for putting Robert Utrera and crew on the trout and reds also. rnrnrnCapt. Fast & Furious Trout Bite 8-7-14
Scott Deshotel with Vesco Rentals was back again today. Scott had so much fun last Wednesday crushing the trout he had to come back!! Scott brought Randy & Michael Short with us. Our first stop found a slow bite so we made a move. Game on at our second stop as it was fast and furious. We had the trout jumping into the big BlueWave two at a time every cast on the double rigged Matrix Shad. No live bait needed in Dularge, as Matrix Shad and Vortex Shad fill the box daily!! 9 yr old Michael was even slinging in doubles!! The hot bite lasted about 30 minutes, then in a blink of an eye was over. We were off to a good start!! We gave it time for the tide to switch, but the bite never turned back on. Move time!! Our next two stops were good for us and the K2 was looking full. The guys had to be back by noon so we left the fish biting with 78 nice fish. Good times as always with Scott and crew. Thanks guys for another fantastic day!rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Quick and Easy Trout Limit!! 8-6-14
Gentry Russo and Lacey LeBlanc joined me today in the big Bluewave!! One stop shop as soon as I killed the big Yamaha, it was fish on. We had the specks coming in hot, 3-6 at a time. Double rigged Matrix and Vortex Shad are the only baits needed right now. No need to waste money on that live bait stuff. Avocado and Green Hornet Matrix and the Purple Haze Vortex have been crushing the fish every day in Dularge. Slow retrieve with a little twitch is what they wanted today. We had 56 fish iced down in the K2 at 6:55, it was looking like a 7 am limit, but a shark moved in on us and started scattering the fish. Things slowed to a crawl, I debated moving but stayed patient. 20 minutes went by and they were back. Number 75 hit the K2 at 7:50 am, and we were headed North seeking reds! We made a drift down a bank and found tailing reds. Gentry sight casted one of them and it immediately destroyed the Spartacus Vortex with gold spinner. About 50 more yards and we had another hit the Purple Haze Vortex on a gold spinner. A few more bumps and the bite went dead. We were watching the fish swim by the baits and they wanted nothing to do with them. Crazy how they just quit biting in the blink of an eye!! Good times by my crew and they can\\\'t wait to come back!! Thanks guys for such a incredible day. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Dularge Trout 8-2-14
Nick Mayeux, Kristen Melancon, and Henry Mclemore joined me today. We headed out early to the trout grounds! Nick and Henry were reeling in nice trout on their first cast, it looked like it was going to be on! Well...it was pick pick pick!! We got on a steady run for a short while, but then it was back to picking away at them. There were storms building all over so we were not able to move around. We stuck it out in one location till around 11 when the storms moved North, then moved around checking five other locations. Every stop gave away a few bites, but we never got on the fast and furious bite like Wednesday or Friday. The crew went home happy with plenty enough fillets, good times. Double rigged Avocado Matrix, Lemon Head, and Green Hornet, and Vortex Purple Haze all produced today. rnrnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com
