Saturday on the Du
It's been a while to post since the big storm and all the devastation. We had to cancel numerous trips, then helped in the rescues of flood victims. Then helped a fellow Capt gut his house. Prayers go out to everyone affected. rnrnJeremy & Sherri Hunt, and Seth joined me Sat. We started the day off targeting slot reds with not much luck, then switched gears to Bulls. The Bulls were stacked up and waiting for our cracked crab. Single, double, triple hook ups equaled big smiles and lots of drag pulling. Our crews had a blast reeling in all the fish. rnrnBig thanks to Capt Labat for running the second boat with my group and Capt Chauvin for taking care of another group out of Cocodrie putting them on a good mess of trout. Good work guys. rnrnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Tuesday Trout Slam 8-2
Art Costly and Texas/La crew were back onboard with me today. The guys wanted trout this time, and trout is what they got!! First stop to the last stop we had 16-20 inch trout jumping into the Bluewave. They can't get enough of the double rigged Matrix Shad lures. The trout have been hitting them so hard they almost pull the pole out your hands!! Great time with you guys once again and I look forward to your return. rnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Monday Trout SLAM!!
Matt Gillen and his 8 yr old son Lucas joined me today on the Bluewave for a good ole fashion trout slam. As soon as we pulled up and deployed the Motorguide Xi5, the big trout were crushing our double rigged Matrix Shad lures. Singles and doubles every cast, when things slowed we made a short move. Again, first cast a double and fish after fish hit the K2 Cooler. Lil Lucas was getting a bit sea sick, so we took a ride for him to feel better. Our next stop had the big girls coming in again until #74 hit the box. We had to make one last quick stop to put #75 on ice before heading North to beat the heat and clean fish. A fabulous day to say the least. Thanks again many memories made today for Lucas and dad!!rnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Friday & Saturday on the Du
Inolect crew arrived Thursday night at the lodge and Chef Shawn P LLC boiled some of the biggest best boiled crabs I've ever eaten. We slept in and loaded up on crabs Friday morning. One stop shop and my crew were reeling in Bull reds one after another with several drum mixed in. By 9:30 they had all they wanted and we headed back to the lodge. Chef Shawn had fried ribs and red beans for lunch. Saturday morning we had a early start as we targeted trout. We started putting fish in the boat right away at our first stop. The bite didn't last long so we made a move. We found a few more fish until a rude boater with no etiquette motored and anchored right on top of us, not another fish after to be had...thanks. Our next stop found more fish. We picked away on our double rigged Matrix Shad, as the fish were scattered and not schooled up. Every move found a few fish until the tide quit. When the heat cranked up and fish quit biting, we headed North to the lodge. Thanks guys for two great days. rnrnBig thanks to Capt T Miller and C Venable for running the other two boats both days. rnrnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Tues, Wed, Thurs Du Report
Day two on Tuesday with Jerry Brunson had us staying on the inside due to weather. We loaded up on crabs and hit the holes. We put four fish in the boat quickly, then the bite went dead. Move after move after move found no fish. Storms all around us and on us all day. We fished almost every hole and in the marsh with spoons with no luck. Last stop where we started and bent pole and drag screaming. Skies turned black once again, and we were headed in. rnrnMichael Blumber and crew from Texas joined us on Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday we could not get out for trout so we loaded up with crabs. Our first stop found the Bull reds stacked up and peeling drag almost every cast. My guys had never caught or seen so many big Bulls in their lives. Their arms got tired after each fighting several fish!! Everyone had big smiles and there was plenty smack talking with the other boat!! We moved into the marsh to fish for slots, but only found one before we were chased in by storms. Day two the forecast looked much better. Low chance of rain and winds. My guys really wanted to fish for trout, so I pointed the Bluewave South. The seas were not terrible, but the water was somewhat stained. Our first stop found solid 17-20 inch trout coming over the gunnels pretty steady with a few doubles. We thought we had found the mother load. After 20-30 minutes the bite shut down. We made a move and got right back on the trout. Another 20-30 minutes and they quit biting. The tide went slack, and the double rigged Matrix Shad with Crappie Trout Trailers were barely moving. We moved and moved waiting on the tide to move, but it never did. We picked 1-2 fish up here and there, but never got on another good bite. We stuck it out and worked hard, putting a decent box together for the conditions. Thanks guys for a great two days. rnrnBig thanks to Capt T Miller for running the second boat the first day and Capt K Labat running the second boat today. rnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Monday Trout Slam
Jerry Brunson and crew were back with me this morning. After a great night at the lodge, we woke up to rain all across the radar. We pushed back our depart time and went back to bed for a while! With storms all down South, trout fishing looked like it was out the question. We ran to the pass and started soaking crabs. Had a couple hook ups and landed a nice red. I kept looking at the radar, and I saw a chance to take. South bound the big Bluewave went!! Our first stop was a bust, not a bite. Made a move to a location I've never fished before and hooked a double on my first cast! Game on and fish on just about every cast! The big 17-21 inch trout were crushing our double rigged Matrix Shad and Crappie Trout Trailers. A few also hit the Mega trailers. They were in a frenzy and everyone in the boat had bent rods. When things slowed down we made another move and got right back on them. What a blast my crew had slinging these nice trout in one after another! Storms were building, so I decided it was time to pack up and roll. The K2 was slap full anyways and it had gotten extremely hot once the seas had slicked out with zero wind. Another fun memorable experience with this group. Thanks again guys!rnrnCapt. Dularge Week Report!
Tuesday Jason Zeringue and crew were back. It was too windy to go offshore so we fished for reds with crab and gold spoons. The fish didn't cooperate for us as we only caught a handful of fish all day. rnrnWednesday Lance Trotti and Grady Verret and their wife's were back onboard. It was Lance's birthday and we were looking for trout. We found calm seas and beautiful water, but the trout had lock jaw. Stop after stop after stop with no bites or a few fish. We covered a easy 100 miles of water catching 15 fish. Tough day but we still had fun! rnrnFriday more repeat customers, and the Gulf was slick! We found a fast and furious trout bite on double rigged Matrix Shad and on Topwater using Matrix Mullets. The trout were busting shrimp all around the boat as the action was insane. We also added a 27 inch Triple Tail that hit a Ultra Violet Matrix Shad, what a nice bonus. The K2 Cooler was full by 8:30 and my crew were ready for the AC at the lodge!! Thanks Capt T Miller for running the second boat. rnrnSaturday I had my same crew. We were hoping for a repeat, but the Gulf had a chop and there were multiple storms around. At day break the trout started busting shrimp and they could not resist the Matrix Mullets. They were hammering the top water like crazy and hitting the double rigged Matrix well too with a fast retrieve. We had a good early run, then the wind kicked up from a approaching storm and the bite shut down. With a nice mess in the Cooler, my guys were satisfied and ready for the AC! Thanks again Capt T Miller for running the second boat. Thanks also to Capt's J Ellender, T Lovell, and K Labat for taking care of the Gaiennie Lumber crew, Capt A Lacour for taking care of Brett Perricone and wife, and Capt C Breaux for putting Stacey Ducote and family on a awesome bow fishing trip. Everyone had a great time. rnrnSunday I had Paul Eastin and crew back onboard with me looking for trout. Again we had a chop this morning. Our first stop not a single bite, time to move. Second stop found one lonely trout willing to eat a Ultra Violet Matrix Shad. Couple more stops without a bite. Was looking to be like a repeat of Wednesday!! Storms were popping up all around us and the seas picking up then calming down! We stayed patient and kept moving. Finally!!! BAM a big trout hit the deck, then another, then double LAWGS! 5-6 hit the deck quick, everyone had big smiles. We moved another 15 yards or so and again one after another we put about 12 more in real quick. They were hitting Double rigged Matrix and The Mega Trailers by Crappie Psychic. We thought we had finally found the mother load, then nothing! We moved around picking off about another 7 fish, before the bite went non existent. Pointed the Bluewave North and came into soak crabs before calling it a day. Big thanks to Capt's T Miller, R Dupont, and K Labat for running the other boats. rnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.comrnfacebook.com/absolutefishingchartersLLCrnhttps://Instagram.com/capt_marty_lacoste

Lawg Fest Down Dularge 7-17-16
Andrew Messenger with HOSS Fillet Knifes and his crew joined me today. Again, trout was our target! We found almost a slick calm Gulf this morning and the Bluewave rolled South with ease. Once the Motorguide Xi5 was deployed, our double rigged Matrix Shad went to work!! The big trout 18-20 inches were waiting for us and responded to crushing our lures like there was no tomorrow. We got on a good run and everyone on the boat was slinging the big trout into the boat 1-2 at a time. Storms were all around us, and we dodged some and sat some out. We had to leave trout biting to dodge a storm, then went back and got back on them. One more move and run, then we headed North to the dock. The day could not have gone much better, as my crew experienced catching some of the biggest trout of their lives. Thanks again guys for such a memorable trip. rnrnCapt. Good as it gets in Dularge 7-15-16
Gaiennie Lumber crew were back with us again today. They experienced yet another trout slam. Our first couple stops found a slow bite, but our third and final stop found the motherload of Big specks! We had 18-20 inch specks coming in two at a time on double rigged Matrix Shad (no live bait needed again today). The fish were hungry and in a frenzy and everyone had bent rods!! The fish just wanted the baits drifting slowly in the current and they would smash them. We slimed and bloodied the Bluewave up quickly. Good as it gets today, and my crew all had big smiles!! Thanks Scotty Muller for the continued business. rnrnBig thanks to Capt T Miller and Capt C Venable for running the other two boats. All crews had a magnificent time. rnrnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.comrnfacebook.com/absolutefishingchartersLLCrnhttps://Instagram.com/capt_marty_lacoste

Dularge Trout Slam 7-14-16
Boyd Hoyt and crew were back onboard the Bluewave with me this morning. Trout was on the agenda, and we accomplished the mission. As soon as I stopped the boat and deployed the Motorguide Xi5, it was fish on. The trout were in a frenzy hitting our double rigged Matrix Shad lures as soon as they hit the water (no live bait needed). Everyone in the boat was slinging fish over the gunnels as fast as they could!! Once the bite slowed a lil we moved around steady adding fish to the count. Eventually the bite ended and wernmade a move. Again at our next location it was fish on from the first to the last cast. We left them biting every cast to run in to beat a huge storm with black skies and lighting. Incredible day and group of guys to fish with, we had a blast. Thanks again guys for a memorable day. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.comrnfacebook.com/absolutefishingchartersLLCrnhttps://Instagram.com/capt_marty_lacoste

More Happy Customers 7-13-16
James Burns crew from North La jumped on the Bluewave this morning. Armed with double rigged Matrix Shad and Matrix Mullet top water plugs, we pointed the bow South. Our first location was a bit slow just picking away. We made a few moves finding a even slower bite. We stayed patient in hopes of the fish to turn on but they never did, time to move again. We spotted a triple tail underneath a 5 gallon bucket lid, but nothing we threw triggered a bite. On we went in search of fish. Our next stop we hit the mother load!! Fish were coming over the gunnels from every direction. Double rigged Matrix Shad were irresistible and the trout were crushing them. Shrimp started jumping for their lives and several solid doubles started coming in and a few crushed the Matrix Mullet Mojito. The K2 Cooler filled up and my crew were all smiles!! Thanks again guys for another day in paradise!!rnrnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

All about the kids 7-12-16
Joey Amorello and boys were back on the Bluewave today with me. Our first stop had fish coming in every cast on the double rigged Matrix Shad. Plenty white trout this morning with not many specks. We could have sank the boat with whites', so we decided to make a move. We found one speck at our next four stops, so we decided to return to the first stop so the boys could at least catch fish. Joey's son reeled in his first and largest bull red of his life, which was incredible. A memory which will last forever as Joey kept it to get mounted! We decided to make a move to target keeper reds soaking cracked crab. At our first stop it didn't take long for the drags to start screaming and the boys to have fun battling the fish. The bite was slower than expected so we made a move to try and catch the green trout. Only a few bit and only one caught. We did everything possible for the boys to load up the K2. The heat started to kick up so we decided to take it to the dock. rnrnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Dularge Fri/Sat report
Friday we made a afternoon trip in the marsh targeting bass and reds. The trip was a complete success as we smoked them on Green Hornet Matrix Shad and brush hogs. Everyone had a blast. rnrnSaturday morning trout was the target. We found birds diving at our first stop and had nice trout hitting our double rigged Matrix consistent. We were putting a good mess of fish together until the switch turned off in the blink of an eye. Crazy how that works. We made a few more moves, and found the fish again at our last stop. Double rigs and on top water with the Matrix Mullet both produced trout. With the box almost full and the heat kicking up, my crew decided to take it to the dock. I picked up some live croakers thinking it would help, but yet again not one single fish on live bait all day.rnrnrnBig thanks to Capt T Miller for running the second boat on Friday and Saturday, Capt K Labat, Capt A Lacour, and Capt A Trahan for taking care of MMR on Saturday. All of the customers had a excellent time, job well done guys. rnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Dularge Tues/Wed reports
Ben Ratcliff and family were back onboard with me Tuesday. We knew with the high winds it was going to be tough. Trout was our target again, so we headed South. We loaded up on live shrimp again as a back up. We found fishable water, but more murky than the previous day. The fish for the most part had lock jaw. We made multiple moves only catching a few fish. By 10 we decided to head North and hit points to try and catch whatever would bite. Lil 11 yr old Lee ended up catching his first redfish and trout which made the day. Thanks to my crew for not giving up!!\r\n\r\nWednesday Beau Boudreaux and his dad were back with me for a afternoon trip. Our bite started off slow, but once the tide switched it was like a switch was turned on!! Bass and reds started biting like crazy. Green Hornet Matrix Shad put a hurt on them. We had a blast reeling in all the fish, as it was fast and furious! The Reds were stacked thick, and we had to leave them biting! Thanks again guys we are 2 for 2 now!!\r\n\r\nCapt Marty LaCoste\r\n985-856-4477\r\nwww.absolutefishingcharters.com\r\nfacebook.com/absolutefishingchartersLLC\r\nhttps://Instagram.com/capt_marty_lacoste

4th of July Windy Trout
Happy Fourth of July everyone!!\r\n\r\n After a well needed two days off over the weekend spending time with family and friends at the lodge, it was back to business today. Sid Carroll, Leon Monceret and crew joined me today. With the winds up and blowing this morning, we weren\'t sure if we were going to be able to trout fish. We all decided trout it was and we pointed the Bluewave South! The waves were not as bad as I thought. With the tough conditions facing us, we loaded up on live shrimp. The bite started out very slow. We moved around and stated catching, but it was 5-6 throwbacks per keeper. Steady action with undersized fish so we kept on the move. Our final stop paid off with mostly all keepers and some throwbacks mixed in. Plenty action to keep us busy and being patient and persistent put a good mess of fish together in tough conditions. Thanks again guys. \r\n\r\n\r\nCapt. Marty LaCoste\r\n985-856-4477\r\nwww.absolutefishingcharters.com
