Windy Day Trout Slam 5-20-13
Great having Josh Cowart back on board with me. Josh brought his dad Greg and brother Courtney. No 25 mph winds were going to stop us from loading the boat. It was fish on at our first stop, as Courtney had the hot rod slinging the yellow mouths in every-cast. Once the bite slowed down we moved a few hundred yards and started slamming them again with everyone slinging fish in every-cast. Our bite tapered off again, so off we went. We picked around then moved over to another reef and found the big trout stacked up and hungry again. It didn't take long to finish up as the trout were crushing our double rigs. Live shrimp was the ticket at our first stop but Matrix Shad Green Hornet, Avocado, Shrimp Creole and Endura Shrimp under a cork did their thing in the end!! It was a blast fishing with these guys, thanks again

Windy day Trout 5-19-13
Zach Templet, Nicole Tusa, Thomas Eakin, and Alex Hazlaris joined me today. Windy conditions made for a tougher bite than we have been having all week. Our first stop only produced a hand full of fish so we moved. Second stop found a fast and furious bite almost everycast, but it was mostly undersized fish. It was a stick and move kinda day grinding to find fish. We never got on a good steady bite as we picked away at the fish till around 1 pm. Matrix Shad Lemon Head and Shrimp Creole were the baits of choice for the most part. Our last stop found the trout eating live shrimp under a cork. Good times despite the tougher conditions. Thanks guys and gals for a enjoyable day.

Trout Slam 5-18-13
Good times today having Will, Brandon & Robert Russ, and Stanley Barre back onboard. The bite is good as it gets right now. We had the trout coming in two at a time as soon as we pulled up to our first stop, and the Burn Hacks were flying. Fast and furious action as the trout were eating up our double rigged Shrimp Creole Matrix Shad. The guys stuffed the Yeti full and we left the fish biting. Doesn't get any better as we are on a roll. Thanks again guys for another incredible day. Big thanks also to Capt E Rodrigue for running the second boat with Wayne Forrestor. The crew had a blast catching trout and reds.

Insane Trout Bite 5-17-13
What a incredible day, easy as it gets!!! The trout bite is off the charts as we are filling the boxes and putting smiles on our customers faces day in and day out. I had a big group today with Gaiennie Lumber Co. We had three boats running and all boats crushed the big trout!! Double rigged Matrix Shad and TTF KFM's double rigged and some live shrimp put a major damage on the fish. The box was so full I had to resort to putting the fish in the live well. The guys had the trout coming in every-cast and all I could do was unhook fish. My crew could not believe the fast and furious action and had the time of their lives. Big thanks to everyone that fished with us and to Capt Travis Miller and Capt Chris Venable for showing their crew a good time. 300+ fish brought to the tables today alone. Too many fish this week to count!!!
Give me a call if your ready to load the box.

Trout Busting Continues 5-16-13
I helped out Capt Anthony today with a group from Canada. Today was their first time trout fishing and they had a blast!! We had somewhat of a slower start than usual, but got on them good at our third stop. Everyone had either singles or doubles coming over the gunnels. Matrix Shad and TTF Killer Flats Minnows did there thing like usual. The Endura shrimp under a cork held its own also early this morning. Today we did cheat a bit and had some live shrimp onboard, which the trout had a hard time resisting (we had a live shrimp and plastic double rigged)!!! LOL. Good times and lots of fun with these guys, thanks for putting it together Capt Anthony.

Sick Trout Action! 5-14-13
What a difference a day makes. After having 25 mph winds yesterday and 2-3ft seas in Sister Lake, I had to cancel my trip with Bill Reeds crew and reschedule.
Today was the day we all dream about....Perfect conditions, slick calm seas, no wind, cool temps, and trout biting every-cast! Drew, Jed, & Brian Carlin, and Kevin Ingram joined me for another magnificent day of smashing the trout. Today was Drew and Jed's second trip with me and second time they catch 125 fish. Brian came all the way from California to partake in the sick trout action. We pulled out of The Reel Inn Lodge just after daybreak, as the guys enjoyed their stay at the Lodge. Our first stop had the yellow mouths jumping into the Big Bluewave every-cast as we iced down 80 fish by 7:30am. Our bite slacked off so we made a move. We picked away bringing the count up to 94 then found the mother-load at our final stop, finishing it off. No need to waste money on that live bait stuff as Matrix Shad continue to dominate Dularge....Shrimp Creole, Tiger, and Avocado all produced today. TTF Killer Flats Minnows in Geaux Gleaux put a good hurt on the fish also this morning. Great group of guys to fish with as we had a blast slimming down the boat. I look forward to fishing with these guys again.
Very limited on dates, so if your looking to get in on this incredible action you need to call ASAP.

Fish Biting in Worst Conditions 5-11-13
BISSO Marine does Dularge again!! Ed Beattie President of Five Star Expeditions, Worldwide Outfitters and his son Ryan was our special guest with BISSO Marine the past couple days. The guys made it into The Reel Inn Lodge Thursday and Chef Rickie Daigle has been cooking amazing meals for everyone!! With the worst conditions presented to us the past two days the pressure was on. We knew we had to produce for the guys, and we did!! Yesterday the rain quit at 12pm and we headed out after filling up on rabbit stew! It took us a couple stops but we found the trout hungry and had them coming over the gunnels one after another. The trout were in a frenzy after the bad weather passed and could not resist our Matrix Shad. Unfortunately the skies turned black on us and we had to run and leave the trout biting almost everycast. We woke up to the same horrible conditions today. The rain quit at 8am and the Bluewave was rolling. We found the bite slow this morning just picking away at the trout, reds and a few flounder. We made a move to catch some reds and the crew had reds and puppy drum coming in one after another on bait shrimp. After filling up the box half way we took off in search of more trout. It only took two stops and we had 2-3 pound Hogs flying over the gunnels!! We ended up with a mixed box of trout, reds, flounder, and puppy drum. What a trip!! Worst conditions possible and we still had over 100 fish hit the cleaning table. Mission accomplished. Good times as always with a great group of guys. Big thanks to Capt Chris Venable for helping me with the second boat. Capt Chris also smashed the fish and everyone had a incredible time. Looking forward to fishing with the guys again for the Houma Oilmans!! Thanks again.

Incredible Trout Bite 5-4-13
After chef Shawn Whitney cooked up some incredible steaks last night we all hurt ourselves on his desert. After a long day everyone retreated to bed. After breakfast we loaded up all four boats and were off! Josh & Mike Gillen, and Justin & Donovan Guidry fished with me today. What a incredible time we had on the big Bluewave!! These guys were so much fun to fish with. The guys joked, ribbed each other, and trash talked all day....what a good time we had!! Easy as it gets today as the trout bite is off the charts!!! We found the fish stacked at our second stop and it was all she wrote. My crew were slinging in big fat LAWGS all morning with big fish going 4.29 pounds. Josh and Donavon caught the biggest trout of their lives on my boat today... What a great feeling!!! Matrix Shad Shrimp Creole, Avocado, and Green Hornet worked over the trout on single and double rigs. Super slow retrieve with a random twitch was the ticket. I want to thank these guys for such a magnificent time together. Looking forward to their return.
We wrapped up a three day three boat charter with our INOLECT customers. Huge thanks to Capt Travis miller, Chris Venable, and Olden Rodrigue who all worked real hard putting great catches of trout together. Another 200 trout hit our tables today. From what I heard today most boats struggled as it was a slow bite. Big thanks to Lonnie Barr for putting everything together. Looking forward to doing it all over with these guys in June.

Trout, Reds, Flounder, drum 5-3-13
Day 2 with my INOLECT Customers was another success, despite the 30mph winds. Good times last night at The Lodge. After chef Shawn filled everyone up with boiled crabs and all the fixins, the soft comfortable beds made for a superb nights sleep. We loaded all three boats up after breakfast and off we went. We entered into Lake Mechant and were greeted with stiff North winds and a good 2 ft chop. All three boats covered all the protected areas in the lake with no success, not another boat seen all day. We retreated deep into the marsh where we started slinging in hefty trout, reds, flounder, and a lost puppy drum. Single and double rigged Matrix Shad did the damage like they always do everyday. Fun times with plenty Burn Hacks yelled out!! Big thanks to Capt Travis Miller and Capt Chris Venable for their hard work in the tough conditions today. All out customers had a great time reeling in all the fish. Chef Shawn is doing his thing again tonight as he is preparing some nice thick steaks for us. rnrnGive me a call if your ready for some fish catching fun!!!rnrnCapt. Dularge On Fire!! 5-2-13
INOLECT Group came into the Reel Inn Lodge yesterday and Chef Shawn Whitney cooked up a great meal for the guys. Good food, company, and DJ Mike Lambert had the tunes rolling!! Everyone went to bed feeling good!! We had three boats running today and all three boats crushed the trout!! Over 225 trout and a mixture of reds and flounder caught today. Over 500 trout have hit our tables since Monday. Double rigged Matrix Shad in Shrimp Creole, Tiger, Avocado, and Green Hornet has produced all week. The Geaux Glow TTF KFMS also produced today. Big fat trout up to 3 pounds today. The Lake Mechant/Sister Lake areas are still producing big numbers as the fish are feeding heavy on shrimp. Most of our fish today were spitting up shrimp all over the deck. Good times had by all customers. Chef Shawn had a big pot of gumbo and potato salad waiting for us on our return. Boiled crabs on the menu tonight. All is good Down in Dularge at The Reel Inn Lodge. Thanks to Capt Travis Miller and Capt Chris Venable for running the two other boats. Full boxes and happy customers!!!
If your ready to get into the action, give me a call. We have the finest lodging in Dularge, and the friendliest fish catching Capt's in Dularge.

Smokin Hot Trout Action 5-1-13
Day two with the Baker Hughes guys was a huge success. We did not leave the Reel Inn lodge until 7 o'clock but the late start did not matter. We picked around at the trout until around 10 o'clock, then I decided to hit the ole honey hole.....big payoff !!! It was fish on, as we had trout up to 4 pounds hitting the Yeti. Double rigged Matrix Shad in Shrimp Creole and Tiger ripped the big trout up. Good as it gets as everyone in the boat was slinging in big fat trout one after another. The guys will be heading back to Texas with a ton of fillets!! Thanks guys for two great days.
The bite is on folks. Call now as we are very limited on dates left open.

Good Time Catching Trout 4-30-13
Capt Travis Miller and I had a quit trip today with a crew from Baker Hugh's. We pulled out of the camp right before 7 am. Our first stop was a scratch but our second stop found pretty water and solid trout. First cast produced a double on the Matrix Shad Shrimp Creole and Green Hornet. Then it was just singles. Nice fat fish up to 19 inches. The fish wanted the bait twitched today and would hit it on the fall. Good times with these guys and we made it in just before the sky fell. Thanks Capt Chris for putting the trip together.

Big Trout Extravaganza 4-29-13
I had David Thibodaux with Elmar Services back on board to slam the trout today. David brought his customers Steffan Primeaux, and Kevin Broussard. Steffan fished with me last year around this time also slamming the trout so expectations were high!! Our first stop had a slow bite and we only boxed 15 fish. We made a second move hitting a quick bite putting only five fish in the the Yeti. With only 20 fish in the Yeti, the pressure was on!! LOL. No problem, I decided to run to one of my old honey holes that usually always produces this time of year and it was game on!!! Third and last stop we hit a silver slab mine of big fat yellow mouths. We had 2-3 pound fish flying over the gunnels one after another. The Yeti filled up quick and when the smoke cleared the box would not close!! Just doesn't get any better, we left the big girls biting to head back to the Lodge. My crew had a blast as always!! Double rigged Matrix Shad in Green Hornet and Shrimp Creole was the ticket today as the big trout ate them up. Thanks guys for another incredible day down in Dularge.

Trout Bashing! 4-27-13
Day 2 with BISSO Marine had us busting up the trout big time. After another incredible meal prepared by Chef Rickie Daigle, everyone went to bed full!! After breakfast we loaded the boats and headed out with the full moon. Our first few stops had us pecking away at the trout. We found what we were looking for at our fourth stop. We struck silver and everyone in the boat was slinging nice fish up to 18 inches in the boat. With the box almost full and the bite slowing down we went scout a few more spots catching fish at every stop except one. Trout master Lee smoked the trout at our final stop as he had the magic touch going on. We wrapped things up and were back at the lodge a little after 12. Chef Rickie was waiting on us with another incredible meal. What a magnificent two days of fishing and relaxing with this great group of guys at The Reel Inn Lodge. All of our fish today were caught on Matrix Shad in Avocado and Shrimp Creole colors. Big thanks to Roy Buchler and Eric Hellbach with BISSO Marine for setting everything up. Special thanks to Capt Travis Miller for running the second boat and to Capt Kevin Labat for running the third boat with Mark Lipari and his son.

Dularge Trout Bite 4-26-13
BISSO Marine crew made it in to the Reel Inn Lodge last night. Chef Rickie Daigle worked his magic again cooking
Pork tenderloin with sauteed apples, rolls,
Shrimp, lobster, and bacon pasta,
Apple wood smoked bacon wrapped duck tenders with a blackberry reduction,
Almond crusted chicken tenders with a honey dijon sauce,
Mandarin orange, toasted walnuts, spinach, and feta cheese with a blood orange vinaigrette,
Strawberry shortcake, and
Assorted dessert tray. Wow is all I can say, and everyone slept like a dream!! We pulled out of the Lodge right before daybreak and found the shrimp jumping out the water with the trout in hot pursuit. The bite was somewhat slower than expected so we made a move. We found a point with moving water and started reeling in specks, reds, and flounder. Once the bite slowed we were on the move again. Our next stop found trout up to three pounds. All fish caught tightlining double rigged Avocado Matrix Shad. Big thanks to Capt Travis Miller for helping out with the second boat today. Great time with our customers today and a great lunch prepared by Chef Rickie on our return to the Lodge.
