Trout 'CATCHING DAY' in Dularge 7-31
Scotty Muller and Gainnie Lumber crew were back with us today running three boats. Our first stop found the 'RedTide', bull reds busting all around the boat and everyone hooked up!! Once the Bull reds were boated, pictures taken, and fish released safely we moved over to the trout. Our double rigged Matrix Shad went to work and it was all she wrote!! Specks and white trout every single cast. There was no waiting on a bite fishing today, as it was all 'Catching'. A slow steady retrieve worked best. I'm almost positive over 300 fish hit the deck of the big Bluewave today keeping roughly 150 fish between specks and some whites. Over 800 fish hit our dock today between the six boats of our team members. rnrnrnBig thanks to Capt T Miller, and C Venable for running the other boats with Gainnie Lumber putting the customers on a incredible bite. rnrnBig thanks also to Capt T Lovell for running day three with Coach Rodney Guin. Special guest Quarter Back Dak Prescott with Mississippi State was onboard. Another incredible day to say the least!!!!!rnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Thursday Big Trout Bashing 7-30
Day two with Rodney Guin, Shane Sims, John Stafford, and Bob Brotherton was even better than day one!! It was 'Fish on' at daylight as soon as I stopped the boat. The big trout were eating up our double rigged Matrix Shad lures like crazy. The fish were suspended in about 5-6 ft depths and would hit the baits just slowly drifting in the current. We had 50 logs taking a ice bath in the K2 at 6:45am when the smoke cleared. They came in spurts and around 9 am with the K2 stuffed with 74 hefty fish it was pretty much over. We moved around fishing till 11:30 only catching 6 more fish. We pointed the Bluewave North and came in to clean fish. Two incredible days with these guys busting up some real solid fish. No throw backs, and not one fish needing to be measured. Most all of our fish, except a few went 17-22 inches. No full limit today either (80 fish), but the quality of our fish couldn't be beat! Thanks guys for two spectacular days of 'catching'. rnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Every-Cast Action!! 7-29
Rodney Guin, Shane Sims, John Stafford, and Bob Brotherton were on the Bluewave today. Our morning started off slowly just picking away. After moving around checking a few locations, we hit the mother load of big trout. Two at a time, every-cast on our double rigged Matrix Shad. Incredible action with trout coming in up to 22 inches. The guys had a blast reeling in all the fish. The sharks are really bad this year, as they ate several of our trout (and we hooked a minimum of 6-7). Once the smoked cleared, the K2 was stuffed with quality trout. A couple more moves picking away at a few more before heading in. No full limits today, but the quality of fish we caught made up for it! Thanks guys for a great day. rnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Worked for them today 7-28
Day two with Rand Kilgore and crew from North Louisiana. The guys are enjoying their three night stay at the Reel Inn. We departed at day break and found a slow bite. We picked away at the trout moving around. The bite was nothing like yesterdays fast and furious bite. Double rigged Matrix Shad with a super slow receive on bottom worked best today. The fish were finicky and had lock jaw most of the day. We grinded and worked hard to put a good mess of fish into the K2. We headed to one of our bull red holes and soaked a few crabs before coming in. The guys hooked five bull reds and two bull drum before calling it a day. Thanks guys for two great days and I look forward to our November trip. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Fast & Furious Trout Slam 7-27
Rand Kilgore and crew from North Louisiana joined me today on the big Bluewave. We were greeted with slick calm conditions and pretty water to the East. Every-cast, fast and furious action, as the trout ate up our double rigged Matrix Shad like they were going out of style. We went out thinking the worst due to all the West winds, but were amazed at what we found!!!! Incredible morning as we had the trout jumping over the gunnels 5-10 at a time. The fish were on the surface in a feeding frenzy and would hit the baits as soon they hit the water. A medium steady retrieve worked best. We left the fish biting every-cast once our limit was iced down into the big K2. It was one of those days you won't forget!! Thanks guys for another fabulous day to add to the books. Looking forward to many more with you guys!rnrnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Afternoon Reds and Bass 7-23
Day three with Rick Delcoure and Terry McCabe from Seattle and crew had us staying in the marsh. We had planned to fish at night, but due to the conditions decided to stay in calmer waters. It didn't take long to break the ice with a green trout starting us off. Green Hornet Matrix Shad went to work and the reds and bass started to cooperate for us. We picked away all afternoon to make up a decent box. We never got on them stacked up as we constantly had to keep moving. The guys had a great time on their three days and made plenty memories here in South Louisiana. Thanks guys for a great time, and I look forward to your return!!rnrnrnrnCapt. Beating the Heat 7-22
Day two with Rick Delcoure and Terry McCabe from Seattle and crew had us beating the heat!! Rougher seas and dirtier water had me wondering how things would go. We actually started slinging specks up to three pounds in the big Bluewave before it even got dark!! We picked away slowly most of the night and the specks finally started to bite after midnight. The bluefish are the worse I've ever seen them, as they are destroying the plastics. We called it a night around 2am with a box of solid trout. Double and single rigged Matrix Shad in any color worked for us. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Continued Easy Trout Limits 7-21
It was great to have Rick Delcoure and wife back on board the big Bluewave today. Their friends Terry McCabe and wife also joined us. It was non stop catching again today, as the big girl trout ate up our double rigged Matrix Shad like crazy. Singles and doubles flying over the gunnels non stop. Our trout went 17-20 inches today, with not a single throw back or fish needing to be measured. The Duce rods have been working flawless slinging in double two pounders!!! We let the baits drift and the fish would hammer them. It's so nice to catch on soft plastics (Matrix Shad) daily and not have to fool with live bait!! We left the fish biting every cast with the K2 stuffed, as it would barely close. Good times by all, and a great pleasure fishing with this group. Looking forward to doing it again real soon!!! Another Fast and Furious Trout Slam 7-20
Jon & Andrew Delahoussaye, and Phil & Alex Guilbeau jumped onboard the big Bluewave today. We headed for the trout grounds and found them stacked up. They could not resist our double rigged Matrix Shad, and ate them up like there was no tomorrow!!! All of our guides are catching on Matrix Shad lures everyday. There is truly no need for live bait, unless that's just your style of fishing. Most of the fish today hit the lures as soon as they hit the water, and some hit them as they were drifting. Numerous doubles as the fish were in a big feeding frenzy. Good and easy as it gets today and my crew had a blast experiencing this bite. We stuffed the K2 to the top and headed into the lodge to clean fish. Just a lil drizzle today as we stayed dry pretty much all morning. Thanks guys for such a splendid day and I look forward to seeing you again. rnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Wet, Windy Trout Slam 7-19
David Thomas, Michael Stutes, and Dan Randolph were back with me today. We were greeted with black skies this morning, but were able to scoot around the storms. Dave hooked into a big Bullred at our first stop. A short move later had us picking away at some school and keeper trout. The sky fell on us but didn't slow us down. We kept grinding away and two stops later struck silver. We had solid specks 16-19 inches coming in 1-2 at a time on double rigged Matrix Shad as soon as the baits would hit the water. The fish were in a frenzy!!!! Things slowed and we drifted a short ways and got back on them. The K2 filled up nicely and the guys loved 'Catching' instead of 'Fishing'! LOL. Thanks again guys for another great day and the continued business. Much appreciated. rnrnrnBig thanks to Capt J Ellender for running the second boat with Al Adams crew. They had a blast catching their limit. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Two day report 7-17, 7-18
Bisso Marine came into the lodge Thursday evening and Chef Rick had a fabulous meal prepared. Friday morning day 1 we stayed in the Marsh and fished reds, then soaked crabs and caught bull reds. My crew loved the bull reds as they were on everycast!! They reeled in the big brutes till their arms were tired. We made it back to the lodge for a great meal prepared by chef Rick. rnrnDay 2 with Bisso Marine had us trout fishing. We slept in late and headed out around 7:30. We picked away at the trout waiting for the tide to switch. Singles and some doubles were coming in on Matrix Shad, then the sky turned black. Winds went from dead calm to 20+ mph, it was time to head North. Chef Rick had lunch prepared on our arrival. Good times and another successful weekend with Bisso Marine. Thanks so much guys for the continued business. rnrnBig thanks to Capt T Miller and Capt T Lovell for running the other boats this weekend. Everyone had a great time. rnrnrnCapt. Beat The Heat Trout Slam 7-16
Aaron Stanfield, Chad Viator, Jake Neuville, and Josh 'Ace' Hebert were back with me for another Beat The Heat Trout Slam!! We had a great night with rather calm conditions, and the trout responded. The guys put a hurt on the specks and filled up the K2. Double and single rigged Matrix Shad Lures worked over the trout like always. Sure was nice with the cooler temps at night versus the daytime heat!! Thanks guys for the continued business and I'm already looking forward to our next trip!!rnrnOver 20 years experience night fishing, come check us out and beat the heat!!!rnrnCapt. Reds and Bass Day 7-15
Day two with John Dongieux and family found us in the marsh fishing for reds and bass. We had two bass and a red in the K2 within our first two cast!!! I knew it was going to be a good morning!! We fished single rigged Green Hornet Matrix Shad with a slow steady retrieve. The K2 continued to fill up as we moved around, and everyone caught their share. A great two days with these guys and they headed home with a full ice chest of fillets. Thank you for the continued business and I look forward to our next trip. rnrnrnCapt. Trout and Red Tide 7-14
John Dongieux and family were back on the big Bluewave today. We headed out to fish for trout this morning again in the West winds. We had some nice solid trout coming over the gunnels early, but they never got into a frenzy. My customers got to experience the 'Red Tide' as we were surrounded by bull reds. They had never seen redfish like that before and loved it. They will hit a bare jig head when there in a frenzy like that. After fighting bull reds it was back focusing on trout. Stick and move was kinda the name of the game today, just picking away at the trout. All fish today were caught on double rigged Matrix Shad. No limits today, but we ended up with a solid catch of quality fish. Thanks guys to the continued business. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Solid Trout Day 7-13
Summer, Jordan, & Jamie Perkins and Tommy Murphy joined me today. With the conditions presented this morning (west winds for two days pushing some dirty water over) I decided to buy some 'insurance' to be safe. We picked up some croakers and then headed to the honey hole. We started catching trout on double rigged Matrix Shad like we do every day at our first stop. The bite was much slower than Sunday's bite, as we just picked away. Once the bite slowed to a crawl, we threw croakers with no luck. Our second location only found two trout on plastics and zero on croakers. Third stop produced around ten fish on plastics and zero on croakers. Things were looking grim with only about 30 fish in the K2. I decided to roll the dice and run and check a ole honey hole!!! The decision paid off big time!! The croakers actually ended up paying off today, as the 'Big girls' came out to eat them!!! The action went from slow to fast, as we finally got the trout going in a frenzy. The guys couldn't believe the size of the trout as everyone went 17-20 inches. It was great to finally see the K2 full to the top after struggling all morning and the excitement in my crews face was even better!!!! Great time fishing with these guys and I look forward to their return. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com
