Trout Biting in horrible Conditions
Regular customer Petey Kern and crew were back onboard today. The bouys were reading over 30 mph this morning, but my crew could not reschedule. We made the best of it and went see what was up, don't know if you don't go!!! We broke the ice early in the brutal conditions and slowly moved to protected waters. We found a good bite Catching mostly trout with some reds mixed in. A lonely flounder and a bay snapper found their way to the K2 also under the Shrimp Creole Matrix Shad. Everything under a cork. Thanks guys for another great trip despite the hard winds all day. rnrnrnI have a opening tomorrow if anyone is interested in getting in on the great conditions with calm winds tomorrow!! Give me a call. rnrnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.comrnfacebook.com/absolutefishingchartersLLCrnhttps://Instagram.com/capt_marty_lacoste

More Specks in horrible winds
Windy conditions lately but the trout have still been biting. We picked away at the Specks at our first location, then found them piled up at our second stop. Even with the wind howling, we had them coming in almost every cast. Shrimp Creole shrimp and Matrix Shad under a cork is still our number one producer. As the winds increased up to 25 mph our bite in open water died. We moved to a more protected area and started catching again. Great day once again despite the brutal winds, thanks guys for another good day. rnrnCapt Marty LaCosternrn985-856-4477rnrnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Du Trout Bustin in Gail Force Winds
Chuck Bourque and crew was back onboard the Bluewave with me today. Trout was our target species and trout is what we found. The winds were howling so I stayed protected as I could. We picked away at our first stop over a oyster reef with shrimp Creole shrimp under a cork. My second stop was a new area i have never fished before. I started drifting a protected bank in 2-3 ft of water catching some throw backs and keepers. After drifting almost 100 yards we hit the jack pot, as every fish was 14-17 inches. The bite kept going even as the winds increased ridiculously. We drifted until we quit catching them moved on. Two stops later we were picking away at a few more adding to the box before calling it a day. Good times as always, thanks. rnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Windy Mixed Box
Inolect and Saltwater Assault crew were back with us again. After a very enjoyable night at the lodge we departed the dock at day break. Winds were up so we started in a area protected from the wind. Our first five cast produced nice sized specks and we thought it was game on!! Unfortunately the Specks had other plans!! We moved around the area searching and would hit 2-3 fish here and there. We gave it enough time to see if they would turn on before moving on. We found a protected point and slowly started picking away at keeper trout. All fish coming on shrimp Creole shrimp under a cork. We hit several other locations picking up 1-2 fish, then switched to plan B. The bait shrimp went out and the rods started to bend. Puppy drum, bay snapper, a flounder and one fresh water catfish made the box. My crew had a blast reeling in all the fish before heading in for a hot meal back at the lodge. rnrnThanks Capt '2 Hot' Labat for running the second boat. Guys had a great time. rnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Good Day Trout Fishing
Percy Wingate and crew with Oil States jumped onboard with me, trout was the main target. First stop found a quick early bite that faded fast. Second stop same thing, almost every cast as soon as we pulled up then went dead. Stick and move not finding much, then we struck silver. All our fish early came under corks but this last run of fish all came from tight lining the shrimp creole Matrix slowly coming up current. The trout were feeding good, hitting the baits aggressive. Percy added a nice bull red for the grill also while popping a cork over a reef in 3 ft of water. Good times with these guys. rnrnCapt. Family fun Catching
Lonnie Barr had family down at the lodge. With several small kids in the group we slept in late and departed the lodge at 8:30. First stop was soaking shrimp catching a few reds, bay snapper, and puppy drum. Second stop had a handful of specks hitting the K2. Third stop found the trout stacked up pretty good. The corks were going down every cast. My crew wanted to try to catch some bull reds, so we left the trout biting. First cast and we had a nice bull red hooked up. Doubled up on the next cast with a puppy drum and huge bay snapper. By 12:30 everyone wanted to get back to the lodge for lunch. Great time with these guys. Thanks Lonnie for setting it up. rnrnHope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving rnrnCapt. Marty LaCosternrn985-856-4477rnrnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Catching Continues Down in Du
Day two with Ben, Tim Winter and Chip Spurlock was just as good as day one. We had the same exact start as day one. Every cast action then the bite shut down. We moved around the area and had 30 trout before moving on. Stick and move the rest of the day picking away at the fish putting together another great box of fish. We soaked shrimp again for a while picking up five keeper reds and 8 bay snapper. Two great days once again with these guys and I look forward to their return next year, thanks guys. rnrnrnrnCapt. Great Day Catching
Day one with Ben and Tim Winters and Chip Spurlock. This is the fifth year in a row the guys come down to fish in November. Our first stop had keeper specks coming in the boat with some throw backs just about every cast. The bite lasted about 30-40 minutes and it was over like a switch was turned off. The hunt begins! Stick and move the rest of the day picking up 4-10 fish per stop. Fished points, reefs, current lines with every fish hitting either Shrimp Creole Matrix or the Shrimp Creole Shrimp under a cork. We soaked some bait shrimp also catching a bunch of 15 inch reds and some Bay Snapper. We ended the day with a great box of fish. Always a pleasure fishing with these guys. rnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Meat Haul
Day two with Dan Ducote and family was a much nicer weather day!! The guys had so much fun the day before catching bay snapper, we went straight for them in the morning! We tried for trout real quick with no takers, then sent out the bait shrimp. First cast and BAM!! It was on the rest of the morning!! We stuffed the K2 full until the bite played out. We added 6 trout to the mix and called it quits around 11 as the guys arms were tired from reeling in all the fish!! Great two days with these guys as usual, what a meat haul!! Thanks Capt T Miller for lining everything up.

Gail Force Brutal Winds
Day one with Dan Ducote and family onboard. Gail force 30 mph winds were forecasted but the guys were coming no matter what and fishing. Our first couple stops didn't look promising at all, the winds were brutal. We tried to find some protected areas but there was no place to hide from these winds. We found two suicide trout, then switched to plan B soaking shrimp. The jail birds cooperated and we started filling up the K2. The guys loved catching the bay snapper and loved eating them last night even more. Thanks guys for making the day a success. Thanks Capt T Miller for putting the trip together. rnrnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Good Trout Day
The BUMS fishing team were back onboard looking for trout. Our morning started off rather slow picking away at the fish. We covered some water not finding much, then finally hit the mother load! We found the trout stacked up on a point with good moving water. It was every cast fast action tight lining the Shrimp Creole Matrix Shad on a 1/4 oz jig head. Once this bite ended, we moved to a reef and got on another lil run of trout. Good times as usual with these guys. Thanks Capt RD for setting up the trip. rnrnrnCapt. Du Trout
Warren Green and his sons came down from Monroe to fish. We found a slower bite than the last few days. We drifted an area I've been doing good at, only to find 15 keepers. The hunt was on. We drifted over several reefs I haven't fished yet finding another 9 trout, a red and a bay snapper. On the move fishing points adding another 5-6 keepers per stop. Our last stop was another reef in a protected area. First cast produced a 17 inch fish!! Then another.....and another!! We had some real solid fish coming in and then Warren hooked a pig. This fish was tearing up the water, you could see its mouth wide open, big fat and long body. Four feet from the boat she spit the hook. I can only estimate this fish would have gone 5 pounds minimum maybe heavier, we were devastated! We finished the day off soaking crabs for a lil while before calling it a day. rnrnThanks to Capt Labat for taking out Brian Poeschel and wife from Florida. They got on some trout and battled the bulls. rnrnrnCapt. Trout and Bull reds
Skip Sarradet and crew were back onboard the Bluewave with me. First stop found no shrimp, no activity, no fish. We made a move over a flat and found what we we looking for. Shrimp Creole Shrimp under a cork went to work, and the trout responded. Nice 14-17 inch trout coming in from all directions. We grinded them out all morning until the bite quit. We checked several other locations with no luck. We finished the day off soaking crabs catching a few big fish. Great time with these guys as always and I look forward to their return. rnrnrnrnCapt. Great Trout Bite
Barry Naquin and crew were back with us today. Our morning started off slow as a shrimp boat was trolling through the area I planned to start at. We made a move, and found what we were looking for. We had the 14-16 inch specks coming in 2-3 at a time on the shrimp Creole shrimp under a cork. The run lasted a good 30 minutes before the fish moved on. A couple moves and we were on another decent run. One more stop for trout adding another 15 fish, then we turned our focus on the big reds. We dropped out the crabs and in less than two minutes drags were singing with bent poles. All the guys reeled in several fish before we called it quits. Another incredible day on the water. Thanks guys again. rnrnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Great bite despite the 20mph wind
Ned Heymann and crew fished with me, our focus was trout. Despite the 20 mph winds, the trout were happy to eat up our shrimp Creole shrimp under a cork. rnhttp://matrixshad.com/shop/shrimp-creole-tko-shrimp/rnIt wasn't a fast and furious bite, but it was a steady bite of 14-16 inch fish. We added a nice red and a handful of bass to the mix before going soak crabs. The bull reds were hungry also as they ate up every crab we threw out. Insane action as the rods were bent and the reels were singing. Thanks guys for a day. rnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com
