Mixed Bag In Bad Weather 12-19-14
Ryan Falsetta with Turner Industries joined us today with a eight man crew. We were not sure if the trip was going to happen or not due to the weather forecast. The guys were die hards and we made the decision at 4am to go for it. Things looked promising at our first location. Calm winds, clean water, and a falling tide. We got on a quick run of trout and a big red, then it was pick pick pick. We waited on the tide switch to see if they would turn back on, but they never did. The picking continued until we decided to move North and target bass. It didn't take long for the green trout to make their presence!! Not the fast and furious bite we have been accustomed to, but we managed to add some really nice ones. A couple more keeper reds were added also. Green Hornet and Ultra Violet Matrix Shad were the top producers fished on a 1/4 oz Golden Eye or David's Custom Tackle jig head. A slow steady retrieve with occasional twitch worked best fishing in the current lines. Thanks again guys. rnrnBig thanks to Capt J Ellender for running the second boat. They loaded the boat with trout, Bay Snapper, puppy drum, and reds. A good time by all. rnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Dularge Trout Slam 12-16-14
Jason Pourciau with Sherman Williams and his customer Chris Maggio jumped on the big Bluewave today. Our first few stops found a slow bite. We picked away at some bass, a red and one lonely trout. We made a move finding trout almost every cast, but most were small only adding ten keepers. One more stop and we struck silver. It was non stop action as we had the silver trout hitting the K2 one after another. We easily caught our limit and left them biting!! Green hornet and Shrimp Creole Matrix Shad tight lined or fished two feet under a cork put a hurt on the fish. We fished points with moving current in 3-5 ft of water. Nothing but laughs and jokes today, as it was a pleasure fishing with these guys. We had a great time smashing the fish, thanks again guys. rnrnCapt. Trout & Bass Bite Continue 12-14-14
Will & Jayne Jenkins, Drew Major, and Natalie Gunn jumped onboard the Big Bluewave today. Our first stop found trout, bass, and a lonesome red. We moved around looking for a better bite and found it at our last stop. The bass were stacked up, then we pecked away catching trout. Natalie (from Chicago originally) had never held a fishing pole before today!! Natalie ended up catching 3 bass and 5-6 trout on her first ever fishing trip!! Everyone joined in filling up the K2 Cooler. Green Hornet Matrix Shad rigged on 1/4 oz jig heads slowly retrieved in 3-5 ft depths did the trick. Patience and persistence were key today as we had to grind it out to put a good box together. Thanks guys for another great day. rnrnFew days left open in Dec and January is booking up. Give me a call to get your dates locked in before it's too late. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

More Trout & Bass 12-13-14
Byron Lewis, Josh Easley, and Matt Goodman jumped on the Big Bluewave with me today. Another slow bite today picking away at the specks. We never got on a hot bite as it was one to five here and there. The specks seem to be scattered out even though water temps have been in the upper 50's all week. We moved North to look for the green trout, but ended up only picking away at them today. No limits today, but my crew still had a incredible time putting a good mess of fish together!! Green Hornet Matrix Shad was the bait of choice again today rigged on a 1/4 oz Golden Eye Jig head. Thanks guys as it was a pleasure fishing with you. rnrnCapt. Another Bass & Trout Slam 12-12-14
Jarrod Whitehead, Wade, Tad, and Ray Richard joined me today on the big Bluewave. Our trout bite started off slow again this morning, so we moved North deep in the Marsh and found the green trout stacked up again. Fishing the grass lines with Green Hornet Matrix Shad rigged on 1/4 Golden Eye Jig Head, we busted the bass. We had them coming in every cast at one point. Once we had our fifty bass iced down, we switched back focusing on trout. We added 26 trout on top of our bass and a couple puppy drum and one flounder. The K2 Cooler has been working over time!!! We called it a day before 1 and headed to the dock to clean fish. The guys had never experienced such a incredible bass bite ever before. Another great day down in Terrebonne Parish. Thanks again guys. rnrnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Green/Silver Showdown 12-10-14
Mike Gillen, Brady Fanguy, with Gator Valve & Greg Baudoin, Kyle Domangue with Quality Process Service joined me today. The guys didn't realize the treat they were in for today!! Our initial goal was to catch silver trout, but the bite was slow. We made a move North and found the green trout stacked like sardines!! We had the green trout coming in one after another with an occasional trout, red, and puppy drum. One flounder also ate his last meal!!! Single rigged Green Hornet Matrix Shad and Purple Haze Vortex Shad rigged on a 1/4 oz Golden Eye jig head did all the damage!! Once we had our fifty bass icing down on Arctic Ice, we moved back South to look for silver trout!! We made one drift adding 20 to our existing count. With right at 90 fish taking a ice bath and barely able to close the lid the guys called it a day around 12:30. We headed in to clean fish. A great time was had, as it's always a pleasure fishing with Mike and his crew. Looking forward to many more Mike, thanks again. rnrnBig thanks to Capt J Ellender for running the second boat with Justin Laughlin, they also had a good time. rnrnrnCapt. Windy Day Trout Slam 12-7-14
Jeremy James, Jimmy Rushing, and Kathy Rushing joined me today!! We departed the lodge at daylight and were greeted with strong winds and a rough lake!! Our first stop produced three fish in six cast, things were looking good (then we couldn't buy a bite..LOL). Drifted a ways and had four more bites producing two more fish (time to move). Our next stop struck silver, as the specks were willing and ready to eat!! Matrix Shad Shrimp Creole under a cork went to work on the fish. With 30 fish icing down in the K2 I decided it was time to try tight lining the Shrimp Creole. BAM!!! The trout were hammering them. We started slinging themrnIn 360' around the big Bliewave Power Poled down. Everyone had bent rods and the Shimano reels were working double time!!! rnrnDecember is off to a great start, still a few open dates if your looking for a good time and catching a bunch of fish. Give me a call. rnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Triple Time!! 12-6-14
Day 2 helping out Capt T Miller. After a few hours of sleep, we were back at it again!!!! We found no bite at our first two stops except for about 10,000 gnats. Thank goodness for Swamp-Swatter onboard the big Bluewave. Our third spot looked to be the charm but the bite ended up shutting down. Two more moves and it looked like it was going to be on again. Trout coming in one after another, then the switch turned off. We moved around the rest of the day picking away at the fish. Slow tough day for us, never finding a good bite. We worked over reefs with 3 ft of water throwing Matrix Shad tight lined and under a cork. Under a cork work best except on one of the reefs with a strong current (the fish wanted the bait drifting in the current). With water temps in the 70's, the trout are scattered about. Hopefully the cool weather coming will bunch them back up. rnrnThanks Capt Miller for setting up the trip. rnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Double Time 12-5
After yesterday's morning trip on the Bluewave, I launched the Gator tail for a bow fishing trip with the Stockton family. This was their first time bow fishing. Perfect conditions with no wind and a full moon. We departed the lodge and found high/murky water with a incoming tide. The high murky water makes it very difficult to see the fish. We moved around all night covering a lot of water, seeing mostly reds and gar fish. My crew shot at a bunch of fish despite the tough conditions, but only connected with a few gar fish. All the reds are still safely swimming, thanks guys for a enjoyable night. rnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Had to work for Them 12-5-14
Slower day today as the fish just did not want to cooperate. 95% of our fish today came on Shrimp Creole Matrix Shad two feet under a cork in 5 ft depths. The fish did not want anything to do with our tight lined baits today. Just nuts after having such an incredible day yesterday. We made several moves only picking a few fish up here and there. The slow days sure make you appreciate the good ones, we are so spoiled!!rnrnThanks Capt T Miller for setting up the trip. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Easy Limits 12-4-14
Darryl Hrubes, Bill Selby, and Dale Brown joined me on the Bluewave for a incredible trout slam. Our first stop had 78 trout taking a ice bath. One more stop had our 100 fish limit chillin on Artic Ice. Green Hornet and Shrimp Creole Matrix Shad rigged on 1/4 oz Golden Eye Jig heads tight lined with a slow retrieve in 5 ft depths got them again. Thanks again guys for such a great day. rnrnCapt. Spectacular Catching 12-1-14
Richard Miller and Kristy Nichols joined me for a spectacular day of catching. We departed the lodge at 6am. Upon arriving on location and deploying the Power Pole, it was fish on. Every cast action as the single rigged Shrimp Creole Matrix Shad went to work. The bite was so fast I put my pole down once we reached 25 and I let Richard and Kristy catch the rest. We left the trout biting every cast, as it can't get any easier. Richard had a request for Kristy to catch a red. No problem!! A short move and Kristy caught 4 reds!! Mission accomplished!! I think they got spoiled today, good as it gets!! Thanks again guys for such a splendid day of catching. rnrnCapt. Marty LaCosternrn985-856-4477rnrnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Nunnally Trout Slam 11-30-14
Clay Nunnally and family were back with me again today. Our first couple stops found a slow bite, then Bam!! Every cast action for my crew, as they had the trout flying into the Bluewave. I was unhooking them as fast as I could, so they could get their baits back out!! When the bite slowed right at 55 fish were cooling off in the K2. It took a couple more moves and the action was back on fire. We filled the big K2 up once again on single rigged Matrix Shad in Shrimp Creole and Green Hornet colors on a 1/4 oz Golden Eye Jig heads. None of our fish have been caught under corks the past few days, everything tight lined with a very slow retrieve in 3-5ft depths. Always a pleasure fishing with Clay, thanks again. rnrnBig thanks to Capt A Trahan for running the second boat with Brad Fontenot. They had a blast filling their limits!rnrnThe bite has been off the charts and will continue through February. Give me a call to get on the books!!rnrnCapt. Matrix Shad Smackdown 11-29-14
Dan Randolph, Gavin Randolph, and Ian Ducharme joined me today on the big Bluewave. Uncle Dan brought his two nephews celebrating Ian's birthday. Fast and furious bite had us icing down 50 trout before 7am, then the bite was dead. The youngsters were on fire this morning!! One hour passed without a bite, then BAM!! It was every cast once again and 85 trout were taking a bath in the K2 chilled by Arctic Ice!! We pecked to 90 fish then called it a day! Green Hornet And Shrimp Creole Matrix and the Blazin Hornet Vortex rigged on a 1/4 Golden Eye jig head slowly tight lined did the trick once again. None of that live bait stuff needed down in Dularge, Matrix Shad lures gets the job done daily. Slow retrieve was key in 3-5 ft depths. The boys had the trip of a lifetime, loving every second of it. Thanks Dan for the continued business, I'm glad the boys had such a great time. rnrnBig thanks to Capt A Trahan for taking care of Tom Jeffrey and crew and Capt J Ellender for taking care of Bancroft Mattei. All of our Capts had incredible catch's, the fishing can't get any better. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Du Trout Fishing 11-28
Richard, Luke, & Nick Bosse, and Mike Grob joined me today. We found a fast bite early, but was short lived. Patience and persistence was key for us today, as the big K2 slowly filled up. Green Hornet, Shrimp Creole Matrix, and the Blazin Hornet Vortex slowly tight-lined in 5 ft depths worked best for us today. The guys said today was the most fish they have ever caught, I'll call that success any-day!! rnrnBig thanks to Capt R Dupont for taking care of Jack Whitehead and Capt J Ellender for taking care of Jack Legendre and crew. rnrnCapt.
