Trout and Bull reds 7-22-14
Day 2 with ESI had us waiting for a storm to pass before we could head out. We had three boats trout fishing and one boat that targeted reds. We were greeted with choppy seas and stained water. Second cast had a nice trout breaking the ice in the K2, then not another bite. We started moving around and found a slow bite. We had quality trout coming on our double rigged avocado Matrix Shad and purple haze Vortex Shad. A slow retrieve with a twitch was key. When our bite shut down, we were on the move again. We rode up on a school of bull reds busting on pogies, and the guys hooked up quickly. We played with the bulls for a while then called it a day. Good times by all, thanks Robert. rnrnBig thanks to Capt's T Miller, C Venable, and R Dupont for taking care of the other customers. The crew had a incredible time and can't wait to come back. Special thanks to Chef Rickie, everyone raved about every meal. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Double Time Reds & Trout 7-21-14
ESI arrived at The Reel Inn Dularge Sunday night and were treated to a boiled seafood dinner prepared by Chef Rickie Daigle. After breakfast we had four boats head out in search of the bronze backs. All boats found a slower than usual bite, but still managed a box mixed with reds, puppy drum, bass, and a few lost trout. We made it back for a weigh in of a five fish red stringer, cleaned fish, ate lunch, rested up.....then we departed around 2pm on round two!!! Round two had us in search of the yellow mouths. No one was disappointed, as they were stacked up and waiting for us. All four boats got on the fish and crushed them. The fish were in a feeding frenzy feeding on shrimp and we had them jumping into the Bluewave everycast. We used the new Vortex Shad double rigged in BlazinHornet, Purplehaze, and Shrimpcocktail. The new baits are bad and the fish love them. Thanks guys for a incredible day. rnrnBig thanks to Capt's T Miller, C Venable, and R Dupont for working hard to put the customers on the fish. Job well done guys. rnrnAlso thanks to Capt O Rodrigue for taking care of part of the crew on a bow fishing trip. We have it all Down in Dularge and can accommodate all your needs. rnrnrnCapt. Mixed Rainy Box 7-20-14
After cancelling all of our boats the last two days due to weather, we thought today's forecast looked better. Lance Trotti and family were back with me today on the Big Bluewave. We were delayed at the lodge due to storms. Once things cleared out we were on our way. Our first stop found a few reds and puppy drum. Our second stop had us reeling in a few bass. The tide was almost at a stand still and had the fish not feeding. We moved around not finding much then the sky fell on us. We took shelter then ran back to the lodge to clean fish. Thanks guys and Happy Birthday Lance!rnrnBig thanks to Capt's T Miller and R Dupont for running the other two boats with Sonny Lovells crew. rnrnrnCapt. Yellow Mouth Fever 7-17-14
Allen Moore with Wells Fargo Financial brought in a group to Reel Inn Dularge Wednesday evening. Chef Shawn P cooked them up a great dinner, and everyone went to bed happy. We departed just before daybreak and found the big yellow mouths waiting on us!!! It was every cast on the double rigged Matrix Shad, as everyone was slinging in the big trout 18-21 inches 1-2 at a time. Avocado, Green Hornet, and Lemon Head seemed to work best today. The fish were on the surface in a feeding frenzy. They would hit the baits immediately or after drifting a short distance. The K2 was filling up nicely, then all of a sudden it happened. In the blink of an eye it was over, they went cold turkey on us. We started moving around only pecking away at them the rest of the morning. We called it a day around noon to head in and clean fish. Thanks guys for a great trip and I look forward to the next trip. rnrnBig thanks to Capt Rob DuPont for running the second boat with the other half of the crew. rnrnrnCapt. Dularge Bass Slam 7-15-14
Day two with John Dongieux, his wife, and my son joined us. The Gulf was full of storms this morning, so plan B it was. Our first stop had us at the redfish hole, but no reds willing to bite. Straight to the Bass hole the Bluewave went!! As soon as the Power Pole was deployed it was 'Bass On'!!! Five bass hit the K2 and another 5 -10 were lucky to see another day. We moved less than ten yards and were up to 15 bass. This kept up and we had our 40 bass limit iced down with no problem. 4 redfish decided to jump into the K2 also. Brush hogs were the bait of choice today for the bass. We tried a couple other locations for reds, then it started to drizzle. My crew said 'let's hit the dock', no problem. We made it back to the dock, and cleaned fish. Thanks for two great days of fishing, and I look forward to your return. rnrnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Fast And Furious Trout Bite 7-14-14
John Dongieux and his wife joined me today from Mississippi. We were greeted with calm seas and clean water. With only five fish iced down in the K2, a storm kicked up. We had to make a decision on where to run! Turns out we made the right call. Seas kicked up and got ugly but we skirted around the storm. After arriving at our location, John caught a trout. It was game on afterwards!!! The fish went into a frenzy and we started catching them two at a time every cast. Double rigged Matrix Shad in every color we threw worked. Some of the fish hit as soon as the baits hit the water, while others hit within seconds of drifting. When the dust settled at 8:50 the K2 was stuffed. We left the fish biting to look for reds. Arriving at the red honey hole, the conditions were perfect. We had two reds jump into the K2 on back to back cast, we thought it was on. Not so, as that was all to be had. Got a call from Capt Anthony Kyzar (thanks) saying he was on a hot bite. We ran over to him, but missed the bite. We tried one more area then called it quits. Today\'s trout bite was probably the best bite I\'ve seen this summer!! Thanks again John. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Back on the Silver 7-13-14
Erik Burns and his sons joined me today. The morning started out a lil windy with choppy seas and a ripping current. We got set up and started chipping away at the trout. Double rigged avocado and green hornet Matrix Shad worked their magic as they do everyday in Dularge. With the current so strong we used 3/8 ounce jig heads to get the baits down to the fish. Letting the baits drift with a twitch worked best to produce strikes. With 20 fish iced down in the K2 it was time to move. Our next location found the winds and seas calming down and shrimp jumping. We got on a good run catching fish just about everycast. The boys loved it and kept saying how they had never caught so many fish ever before. Thanks guys for a great day. rnrnBig thanks to Capt A Julien for running the second boat and putting his crew on reds, puppy drum and flounder. OrnrnCapt. Fourchon / Grand Isle in Southeast Louisiana

Day 2 Fourchon Oilmans
Day 2 of the Fourchon Oilmans and my guys were pumped up to catch a bunch of fish on top waters. We headed out to a area we caught the most yesterday, but found only a shark to bite. Our next ten stops all produced goose eggs, things weren't looking good. We kept moving and finally dirtied up the K2 with a fish!! A few more joined in around the same area. After combing the area it was time to move. Clean water, tide moving, bait everywhere, but no fish wanting anything to do with our baits. Seven more stops and only one more fish on a top water. At 12:45 we accepted the fact that the fish won, and headed North to the camp. Toughest day I've had in quite some time. Huge thanks to Bisso Marine for the continued business. rnrnBig thanks to Capts T Miller, R Dupont, A Julien, A Kyzar for helping out with Bisso, everyone had a great day. Also big thanks to Chef Rickie Daigle for all the exceptional meals. Everyone enjoyed every meal, great job. rnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

2014 Fourchon Oilmans Day 1
Day 1 with Bisso Marine at the Fourchon Oilmans went well, all five boats caught fish. We fished reefs, surf, and structure today. My crew mainly wanted to target bigger fish on top water. We did use some Live shrimp under a cork when it got slow. Matrix Shad double rigged produced some fish also at one structure. The guys caught some real nice trout and it was exciting watching the fish blow up on the baits. Chef Rick had us a great hot lunch prepared on our return back at camp. rnrnBig thanks to Capts T Miller, R Dupont, A Julien, A Kyzar for helping out with Bisso, everyone had a great day. rnrnThanks also to Capt T Brunet for taking care of Richard Wrights crew down in Dularge. Beat The Heat Trout Slam
I had the Camp Greasy Prop/Whitley Jo Specialty crew back onboard the Big Bluewave for one of their annual night trips. Blake Foley, Chad Viator, Josh 'Ace' Hebert, and Aaron Stanfield got to experience the best trout trip if their lives!! We had the ice broken before the sun went down!! Double rigged Matrix Shad in Shrimp Creole and green hornet worked best, with a steady retrieve. Solid trout up to 20 inches. Good times with plenty laughs, the guys were a blast to fish with. Sure felt good to load the K2 while beating the heat. Big thanks to Toby Rich for the continued business. rnrnGive me a call if you would like to beat the heat, over 20 yrs running night trips. rnrnrnCapt. Du Trout Busting 7-9-14
Logan Fowler was back onboard with his buddies Logan Breaux and Victor Allain. Storms had the gulf covered this morning so we had to stay inside and wait for a while. Once the radar cleared we were off to the trout grounds. A little chop to the seas but nothing like it has been. The Bluewave sliced the waves like butter!! Our first and second stop found a slow bite. Our third stop struck silver!! The spotted sea trout could not resist our double rigged Matrix Shad and were jumping into the K2. Today's fish bit real finicky. You had to let the baits sit and drift and give it a twitch, no twitch = no bite. Avocado Matrix worked best today and we found the fish would only hit baits that were on a chartreuse colored jig head. A handful of fish hit the plain lead jigs but their preference was chartreuse (them fish are something!!). Good times by all and we slimed and bloodied up the Bluewave big time. Plenty sharks out today eating our fish also. Thanks again guys for a great day. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Dularge Trout 7-8-14
After a well needed vacation with family it was time to get back to business!!!! Danny (Black Cloud!!) Lirette was back on the big Bluewave again today with his good friend Jerry Roth. We were greeted with wind, choppy seas, stained water, and storms building all around us (I refused to let the weather beat us!!). We got on location and hunkered down!! Keeping a close eye on the storms while we picked away on a slow bite. The sky started clearing up, winds calmed and the water started looking better. The bite picked up as we got on a good run. As soon as I hooked up on a solid double, we thought it was on!!! The Black Cloud had finally moved away from us!! LOL. The bite never turned on hot but persistence was key. We kept throwing our double rigged Matrix Shad (avocado, green hornet, Tiger) and kept chipping away at them. The K2 was looking good with 15-17 inch fish. The guys threw in the towel around 11:30, and we headed in to clean fish. Always a pleasure fishing with Danny and his crew. Thank you for the continued business. rnrnrnCapt. Grind It Out Trout Day 7-1-14
Dan Brooks and crew joined me today. We were greeted with 17-20 mph winds and rough seas this morning. Dead set on trout the Bluewave headed South cutting the 2-3ft seas like butter. We found stained water but got on a short run and started to dirty up the K2. Tiger Matrix and Green Hornet double rigged work best. The bite was short lived and had us on the move. Our next few stops produced goose eggs. My guys were determined to find more trout and so was I!! Our next location found more silver slabs willing to take a ice bath. We combed the area over and over until satisfied no more would bite. One more stop found 7 more to add to the box before my crew threw in the towel. Grind it out type day for sure, but persistence paid off with a mess of fish. Between our four boats we covered every location possible in the Du for trout. No one got on a incredible bite anywhere today. We really need the winds to calm and water to clean back up for things to get right. Good luck out there!!!rnrnrnCapt. Dularge Reds 6-30-14
Ben & Tim winter were back onboard today and Chris Millen also joined us. We decided to stick with the reds today knowing the water would not have cleared up over night. We made the right decision, according to the reports I heard out of Dularge. Our bite started slow with no tide movement. Once the tide started moving the fish started to bite. Our first few reds came on Tiger and Green Hornet Matrix Shad with gold spinners. With the bite slow we switched to fresh bait shrimp under a cork. We made a few moves checking a couple other locations finding no tide and only one more fish that was sight casted right next to the boat. The guys had a good time reeling in the bronze backs and can't wait to return again!!! Thanks guys, enjoyed it as always. rnrnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

More Eater Reds and Bulls 6-28-14
Day 2 with our Dallas crew has us repeating what we did yesterday. We hit the marsh early and got on the reds first thing. The bite was practically over after the first hour of daylight. Tiger Matrix Shad on a gold spinner and shrimp under a cork produced all of our fish. Reds, drum, bay snapper, couple lost trout hit the K2. We switched gears to cracked crab on the bottom since the crew loved battling them the day before. Big thanks to Capt T Miller and Capt L Barr for running the two other boats showing everyone a great time. The two day trip was a complete success despite the tough conditions. rnrnBig thanks to Capt A Julien for taking care of Mike Adams crew. The guys ended the day catching puppy drum every cast. They loved it and said their arms were sore from all of the 'catching' they did. rnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com
