Trout Finally Showing Up 9-29-14
Patrick Spell and crew from Shreveport were back onboard the big Bluewave today. Foggy morning had us waiting to be able to see before we could depart. Our first stop found a slow red bite, second stop we got on a good run, (Cracked crab 1 oz Carolina rig). When the tide switched the bite shut down. We switched gears to trout, and put a good lick on them. Double rigged Matrix and Vortex Shad had the trout coming in every cast. 60/40 keeper to throw back ratio. Sure is nice to see the trout finally showing up, and it was nice not having to fight 20-30 mph winds for a change. Thanks guys for a incredible day. rnrnTrout are showing up so you'd better get your trips on the books before it's too late!!!rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Good Times Down Dularge 9-26-14
Inolect guys made it into the lodge last night. Chef Shawn P cooked up some white beans and rice and fried shrimp. Food and drinks were flowing and everyone enjoyed the evening. We departed the lodge and arrived at the red hole after sunrise. The reds were hungry for our cracked crab Carolina rigged. Everyone had a great time. We made it back to the lodge before noon to eat Chef Shawn P's Gumbo and Tator salad!!! rnrnBig thanks to Capt Miller, Capt DuPont, Capt Venable, and Capt Barr for running the other boats. rnrnCapt. Reds on the Du 9-25-14
Gary McNeil with Prime Controls joined us today, with a crew of two boats running. With the high winds, we knew we had to stick to the reds. We hit the deep holes in Rice Bayou and Buck skin bayou, dropping cracked crabs on the bottom Carolina rigged. We had a short window with the tide but timed them just right. The guys had a blast reeling in the reds and a few 'Big Nasty' drum line pullers!!! Despite the 25-30 mph winds the guys put a good box of fish together and had a great time. We also caught a few reds on bait shrimp under a cork. Thanks guys for a great day. rnrnBig thanks to Capt Miller for running the second boat. rnrnrnCapt. Dularge Fishing
KBR Construction crew joined us for a day of fishing. The guys came from all over the United States to join us. My customers were dumbfounded upon witnessing the worst fishing etiquette from another boater they have ever seen in their life at our first stop. Needless to say we didn't stay there long before moving. Our second location found a few fish, and the guys loved how the fish fought. Since the guys had a bet on biggest redfish, we went over to Grand Pass to see if we could hook a bull red. Unfortunately only the bull drum wanted to play. No problem as the guys caught their biggest fish of their lives and had a blast. After the guys had enough of the big fish we went look for some more keepers. We found a few more reds before calling it a day. Cracked crab on the bottom and bait shrimp under a cork was the ticket. Even though we didn't load the box full, the guys said it was the best trip of their lives. That's all that counts to me!!! Thanks again guys. rnrnBig thanks to Capt Miller for running the second boat and putting them on the reds. rnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Windy Day Reds 9-20-14
I had a big group today with DLSD Homes. The guys enjoyed their night at The Reel Inn and were up for the challenge today. We knew the wind was going to make conditions tough. We hunkered down and let the crabs do the work. 1 oz weights Carolina rigged with cracked crab is what the fish wanted. No fast and furious bite for anyone today, but all our boats put fish in the box. Customers had a good time and mission accomplished!! Thanks guys for another great day on the waterrnrnBig thanks to Capt T Miller, R Dupont, and C Venable for running the other boats. rnrnCapt. Bow Fishing Blast
Good times bow fishing Monday night and Wednesday night. High murky water made it tough to see the fish, as we never found clear water. No problem though, we still managed to hit some fish. Lots of laughs and good times were had and many arrows were released. Reds and Garfish were the main fish shot. Thanks guys for two great nights on the bayou. rnrnWe are booking 2-3 man bow fishing trips, and can accommodate larger groups also. rnrnCapt. September Redfishing!!! 9-14-14
Good customer John Doucet put together a trip for Scott Harris, Glaston Lager, Richard Doucet. The guys arrived at The Reel Inn last night and loved the lodge. It was a redfish bonanza today. When the switch turned on it was every cast!! The Shimano rod/reels got a workout. Today's reds all averaged 23-26 inches. No fish over 27 inches today. Cracked crab was the bait of choice. Everyone loved battling the reds. Fun times by all as it doesn't get much better!! Thanks again guys for another exceptional day. rnrnrnCapt. Redfish Slam 9-11-14
Day 2 with Warren Higgins, Donnie Adams, and Benny Judice was even faster than day 1. The tide wasn't rolling as hard first things this morning, which made for a earlier bite. The reds were hungry eating up our fresh crabs. By 8:30 it was all over, as the K2 was stuffed. The guys had to get on the road back to Houston but not before we gave the trout a good 30 minutes to see of they would bite. We found a falling tide and dirtier water today and only a couple keepers. 'To the dock' Warren hollered!!! No problem as the guys are heading back to Houston with two coolers full of fillets. A great two days with the guys and I look forward to their return. rnrnGive me a call to get your trip on the books!! rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Red and Trout Slam 9-10-14
Warren Higgins from Texas was back again today with me. His buddies Donnie Adams, and Benny Judice also joined us. No problem catching our limit of reds by 9 this morning. Since it was so early we went top off the box with trout. No need to head straight in when it's so early and the trout are biting too!! We spent an hour and hit two schools of trout and then called it a day. Good as it gets. Reds on cracked crab, trout on double rigged Matrix and Vortex Shad. Thanks again for a splendid day. rnrnWe still have a few openings left in Sept if your wanting to get in on this incredible action. Don't wait!!rnrnrnCapt. Reds & Specks (Best of Both!!) 9-8-14
Robert and Vickie Buchanan joined me today on the Big Bluewave. We picked away at the reds until the tide switched. Once it started falling it was all over!! The K2 filled up quick and it was easy limits. Cracked crab, 1 oz Carolina rigged, 20 ft hole. I've been wanting to see what the trout were doing, so after limiting out on reds it was trout time!! Two stops and we found a productive bite. We got on a good run of nice trout, then some smaller trout moved in. We weeded through the smaller trout and topped off the K2 with a nice mess of trout. Double rigged Matrix and Vortex Shad did the trick like always!!! Incredible day for my crew and their already talking about making their next trip down. Thanks guys for a magnificent day!!rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Easy Red Fish Limits 9-6-14
After a well needed break, it was back to business today!! Patrick & Andrea Ludwig were back onboard with me today!! Andrea's parents (David & Suzanne) were in town from Texas celebrating her dads birthday today. We departed the Lodge at day break and arrived on location after a 10 minute boat ride!! We found a slow bite, and picked away at the fish. Once the tide switched, the reds went nuts!!! It was fish on almost every cast as I was running around baiting, netting, and unhooking fish. Multiple doubles and a triple hook up kept me busy!!! Cracked crab on 1 oz Carolina rigs in 20 ft of water did the trick. Easy as it gets today and my crew experienced their best red fishing trip of their lives they said. Pretty awesome. Thanks again guys for such a fantastic day!!rnrnCapt. Day 2 Battling Reds 8-31-14
Day 2 with our Marine Corps group. Guys came from Pennsylvania, Virginia, Texas, Missouri, Tennessee, Michigan, and Louisiana. The crew had a big crab and shrimp boil at the camp last night and watched the LSU game!! We departed the lodge in the dark and arrived on location to find a slow falling tide and a super slow bite. Patience and persistence were key today. We had boats all over the Du and there wasn't much 'catching' going on. Cracked crab on a 1 Oz Carolina rig was the ticket. The guys enjoyed their stay at the lodge and two days of battling the bronze backs. Great time and good memories. rnrnBig thanks to Capt's R Dupont, A Trahan, and T Brunet for running the other boats. rnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Marines Battle The Du 8-30-14
United States Marine Corps battles Dularge reds!! Jody Foret put together a trip with a group of Marines that served together In Desert Shield/Storm. The 1/8 Comm guys arrived at the Reel Inn last night. We departed the lodge and found a slow bite at our first stop. Made a couple moves only picking at the fish. The weather moved in on us and conditions got ugly quick, so we headed back to the lodge. Despite the weather all the guys put together a good mess of fish. Good time was had by all. rnrnBig thanks to Capt R Dupont, and A Trahan for running the two other boats putting their crews on the fish. rnrnThanks also to Capt T Brunet for taking care of Billy Gray's crew. rnrnrnCapt. Exceptional Red Fishing 8-29-14
Team 'Dat Sauce' was onboard with me today!! Johnny Lancon, Shannon Bruni, Jerry Cook, and Garrett Cook. Reds were on the menu and man did this crew bust them up!! Cracked crab Carolina rigged in a 20 ft hole had the reds coming into the Bluewave every cast. The new line up of Shimano Rod/reels worked over the reds perfectly. Good times with a fantastic crew. Looking forward to their return in November. Thanks again for a incredible trip.rnrnBig thanks to Capt Rob DuPont for running the second boat with the other half of the crew. rnrnrn Capt. Day 2 with Bent poles 8-27-14
Day 2 with my Sparrows crew was another success. Adam Wood, Blake Chiasson, Edward Olivier, and Jack Guidry had another incredible trip today loading the boat. Cracked crab on 1 oz Carolina rigs, fished in a 15 foot hole. (Check yesterday's report for coordinates and move 200 yards North). Bent Shimano rod and reels held in right hand did the trick!! No bananas were onboard today. Awesome guys to fish with, lots of fun and laughs. I look forward to their return on future trips!rnrnrnCapt.
