Weathered The Storms 6-26-15
I had Gaiennie Lumber crew back today (three boats running), and Ray Savoy. All of our original plans went out the window this morning due to storms and the wind. Trout was our plan, as we have been catching easy limits every single day this week. Unfortunately we can't control the weather. We adapt and adjust to conditions and changed the game plan at day break. We had boats bass fishing, bull red fishing, and puppy drum fishing. We all spread out to see what was working. It didn't take us long and we had several bull reds, a puppy drum, and bull drum hooked up. When the bite went cold we moved out into the lake on some diving birds. Shrimp were jumping and trout were attacking our Matrix Shad. Unfortunately, most all the trout were 9-11 inches. The every cast bite was fun, but barely any keeper trout to speak of. We moved onto soaking more crabs and shrimp with not much luck, then the sky fell on us. Our customers threw in the towel and we were dock bound. Always a pleasure fishing with Gaiennie Lumber, thanks guys for the continued business. rnrnBig thanks to Capt T Miller, Capt C Venable and Capt L Barr for running the other boats. rnrnrnCapt. Incredible Trout Bite Continues 6-25-15
Ross Dies, Randy Elder, and Jolly Claxton from Shreveport joined me today on the Big Bluewave. We had the trout jumping into the boat every cast again this morning 4-8 at a time. Double rigged Matrix Shad gets the job done every day, don't waste your time and money on live bait!! The trout have been eating the Matrix up like there is no tomorrow (and there is no tomorrow for the 100 we caught!!! LOL). Easy as it gets again today, as the bite has been off the charts. The guys had a blast reeling in trout 14-21 inches. Took us a little longer today as a storm kicked up and slowed the bite down for a while. Once things calmed back down, the bite was back on. We were back cleaning fish at 10:00. The cloud cover and drizzle actually felt good!!! Thanks guys and I look forward to your return. rnrnCapt. Easy As It Gets!! 6-24-15
Kenneth Shannon, Kevin Bishop, and Blake LaComb fished with me today. More of the same as the guys smashed the trout. Double rigged Matrix Shad is putting a hurt on the specks daily, as they can't get enough of them. No need to waste your money on live bait, just make sure you have some Matrix and Vortex Shad in your tackle box. As soon as we pulled up the specks were coming over the gunnels of the Bluewave. The action was fast and furious and #100 hit the K2 Cooler at 8am. The trout bite is as good as it gets right now. The only thing that will slow things down is wind and rough seas. Thanks guys for the repeat business. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Trout Bite Off the Charts 6-23-15
Day 2 with Dennis Lorio and crew was even better than day 1. We had the big girls coming over the gunnels 5-10 at a time on double rigged Matrix Shad. As soon as I stopped and deployed the Power Pole, it was fish on. No need to waste money on live bait when you have Matrix Shad in the boat. Easy as it gets today, as the conditions and fishing were perfect. These guys kept their streak of limiting out with me every trip going today, as # 125 hit the K2 at 8:30am!!!! No secrets to catching them today, as they would hit the Matrix as soon as they hit the water. I was able to call Capt Rob and Capt Travis over to finish their limits off also. Good communication with a good team benefits all of our customers. 400 trout hit the tables today between our four boats, as everyone limited out. The trout bite is on fire and I don't see it slowing down as long as the weather stays good. Great time with these guys as always, thanks for the continued business. rnrnrnCapt. Fast N Furious Trout 6-22-25
Dennis Lorio and crew were back onboard the big Bluewave today. Another exceptional fast and furious every-cast action day for them!! These guys have fished with me going on three years now and have limited out on every trip!! The trout were in a frenzy eating up our double rigged Matrix Shad. Color really didn't matter today as the fish ate up our baits as fast as they hit the water. Sick crazy action, and my crew loved every second of it. No live bait needed Down in Dularge, Matrix Shad get the job done day in and out. We were back cleaning fish by 10:00 to beat the heat, it just doesn't get any better. Thanks again guys for the continued business, always a pleasure fishing with you. rnrnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Day 2 with Inolect 6-20-15
Day 2 with Inolect had us departing at day break again. We had trout coming in the boat at our first stop on double rigged Matrix Shad. The bite didn't last long, so we made a short move. We switched to live shrimp under a cork and slowly started filling up the K2 Cooler. Our next few stops we were back throwing Double rigged Matrix Shad. Our last stop found us on another decent run with a couple doubles coming over the Gunnel of the Bluewave. With the heat cranking up and the bite shutting down, we pointed the BW North!! Big thanks to Lonnie Barr with Inolect and Chris Comeaux with MMR for the continued business. rnrnSpecial thanks to Capt T Miller, Capt C Venable, Capt G Ellender, Capt K Labat, and Capt A Lacour for running the other five boats making the trips a success. rnrnrnCapt. Grind it Kinda Day! 6-19-15
My customers with Inolect made it into the Reel Inn Thursday night. Chef Shawn P LLC had a great meal prepared for everyone. We woke up early and departed for daybreak. At our first stop, we had trout coming in on the first cast! Double rigged Matrix Shad in Tiger Bait colors worked best for us. The bite was fast for only 15-20 minutes, then it shut down on us. The rest of the morning was stick and move! We grinded it out till about 11am, then pointed the Bluewave North. Chef Shawn had a incredible meal prepared on our arrival. Good times!!rnrnBig thanks to Capt T Miller, Capt C Venable, Capt R Dupont, and Capt T Lovell for running the other boats. Everyone had a great time. rnrnrnCapt. Great Day Bustin Them Trout 6-18-15
After rescheduling the last four days due to winds, it was time to get back out!! Allison Hebert was back onboard the Big Bluewave today with her husband Bert, Tamara Lafont, and Crystal Risinger. Our first stop found the fish in a frenzy!! It was every cast fast n furious action on the double rigged Matrix Shad lures. Doubles and singles were coming over the Gunnel with trout up to 20 inches. Big smiles on everyone's faces!! When the bite slowed down we started moving around picking away at the fish. We finished the day with a great catch and was the best trout trip my customers have ever experienced. Always a pleasure to hear those words!! Thanks guys for another great day on the water. rnrnBig thanks to Capt J Ellender for running the second boat with Sean Genovese. The guys also had a incredible trip busting up the trout. rnrnrnCapt. Windy Reds 6-13-15
We finished up day four with Claude Sims and crew from Texas. Another day of 30 mph winds made it tough. I wanted to get Carson on a Bull Red, but none were to be had. We shifted gears into the shallows and begun throwing Matrix Shad lures. It didn't take long and Carson was fighting a nice 25 inch red. We worked over the marsh catching 7 reds and a bass, the bite was slow. Stick and move.... Decided to try a point with some bait shrimp and we sorta struck gold!! LOL. We had the Rat reds coming in one after another. Claude even hooked two reds on one cast while throwing a doubled rigged shrimp!! The guys had planned to only catch and release on this day, so it was really all about the 'Catching' anyways!! They did end up keeping two nicer reds for the grill. Tough grinding day with all the wind but the guys still had a good time. We rescheduled our trout trips till the end of the week. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon! Thanks Claude for four great days of fishing, look forward to your return. rnrnBig thanks to Capt Josh Ellender for running the second boat. rnrnrnCapt. Big Fish on Day 3 6-12-15
Day 3 with Claude and Carson Sims had us soaking crabs. 30 mph winds blowing so your options are limited. Big fish on the menu and big fish the guys got (and loved every minute of it). The guys loved the pull of the big fish and we kept a few of the smaller ones to eat. The guys are getting to experience every aspect of fishing we have to offer down here. rnrnrnBig thanks to Capt T Lovell for running the second boat with Brian Grizzle and his son. rnrnrnCapt. Fun Times working on Bucket List
Day two with Claude and Carson Sims from Texas started out with some real bad storms and lighting strikes all around us at the lodge. We held tight and waited for the weather to pass. With the wind up, we decided to head North to catch bass and Reds. In no time the green trout were hitting the K2! Carson has always wanted to know what it would be like to fight a alligator!! Lol, well he found out today. About a 4ft alligator decided to hit his worm he was throwing, and this got knocked off his bucket list!! I kept looking at the winds and storms around and noticed everything looked calm. The guys wanted to try to catch some more trout, so the Bluewave was pointed Southbound!! Pleasant surprise as the seas were pretty calm. It didn't take long for our double rigged Matrix Shad to start producing trout!!! Silver started going on top of the green in the K2!! Carson also really wanted to catch a shark, no problem. The Sharks have been very bad while trout fishing. It didn't take long and Carson was hooked up with a 4ft Bull shark. After about a 45 min fight he got his shark and another bucket list wish!! We got some good picture and the shark was released. Not one drop of rain all day after all that horrible weather. Thanks again for another memorable day!rnrnrnThanks Capt RD Dupont for running the second boat. rnrnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

SICK Every-Cast Action 6-10-15
Claude Sims from Texas was back onboard the big Bluewave with me today. Perfect forecast had us heading out to the trout grounds at day break! It's always a wonderful thing when you can hit the Gulf and are cruising at a easy 45mph in slick calm seas (You just know it's going to be a good day). At daybreak the trout were smacking shrimp 360 degrees around the boat. Double rigged Matrix Shad in all colors went to work!! Solid trout averaging 16-19 inches were hitting the deck of the Bluewave!! The K2 Cooler also went to work as the yellow mouths took a ice bath one by one! Once the bite slowed down, we made a short move. In no time, the bite just went ballistic!! The trout frenzy started up and all hell broke loose!! We had the fish Coming in 3-6 at a time. I called Capt Rob over and we commenced to put on a trout bashing clinic like no other!! A 4-5 foot shark decided to ruin the party and bust things up. No problem, we stayed patient and the bite was back on. It was retarded as the fish were hitting any color Matrix Shad we threw in the water!! #75 hit the deck around 9:30am, and we left them biting every cast!! Another incredible trip in the books. Thanks Claude Sims for putting the trip together. rnrnrnBig thanks to Capt 'RD' Dupont for running the second boat and putting the crew on a good limit. rnrnCapt. 6-9-15. Had to work for Them
Day two with Scott Purdy and crew from Tennessee. I had the pleasure of having the 'Legend' fish on my Bluewave this day!! Our first stop found the birds diving on shrimp, and the trout hitting the deck!! Plenty undersized fish and keepers mixed together, every-cast action though. Capt Rob called over the radio about a hot bite he was on. Tough call as we were on a every-cast bite also, just not all keepers. I made the decision to move, and it turned out to be the wrong call. The old saying goes 'Never leave biting fish to find fish'! Well, we never got on a good bite the rest of the day. It was stick, move, grind until we got ran in by the weather. Thankfully the guys had a good fun experience. 330 fillets headed back to Tennessee on a slower than normal trip!! Thanks Scott for putting the trips together. rnrnBig thanks to Capt 'T' Miller for running the second boat!rn rnrnCapt. Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com

Grinded Hard Today 6-8-15
Scott Purdy from Memphis joined us today with a six man crew. Capt T Miller ran the second boat with the other half the crew. I decided to change things up today and fish another area.....wrong move. The fish didn't cooperate. We grinded away all day, but ended up putting together a good mess of fish considering how slow it was. I even broke down and had some of that 'live bait' stuff in the boat, never caught so many hard heads in my life. No wonder why we never fish live bait, what a nightmare!! Matrix Shad accounted for most of our fish today as always. My guys had a great time and are looking forward to day two tomorrow. rnrnThanks Capt Miller for showing your crew a good time and putting them on a good mess of fish. rnrnCapt. Non Stop Trout Catching 6-7-15
Herbie Borderlon and his wife joined me today on the big Bluewave. We had trout hitting the deck before the sun came up on Shrimp Creole Matrix Shad and Ultra Violet. The action slowed quickly and the Sharks moved in. We caught the most sharks that I've ever seen, it was time to make a move. Our next stop had the trout coming in on double rigged Matrix Shad, it looked like we were getting on a good run.....then nothing!! Stick and moved three times, then we hit Silver. My crew went to work and the K2 filled up nicely!! Great time fishing with you today!!rnrnrnBig thanks to Capt CV for taking care of David Jones and crew from North La the last two days. They said they have fished all over the State and have never caught and had such a good time with anyone else they have fished with!! rnrnAlso want to thank Capt Gerald Ellender for the great teamwork today. We were both able to bust up some nice trout!!rnrnCapt Marty LaCostern985-856-4477rnwww.absolutefishingcharters.com
