DROVE FROM LAFAYETTE TO FISH LARTO THURS AND FRIDAY. NOT MANY SAC A LAIT, BUT THE ONES WE HAD WERE BIGGGGGG. DOC B AND I WERE FISHING IN AN AREA WITH MANY YOYO'S IN THE TREES( NOT TO MENTION YOYO'S IN BOATS), WHEN WE STARTED GETTING A FEW BITES AROUND THIS PARTICULAR TREE WITH A FEW DRY YOYO'S IN IT, WHEN THIS WINGNUT DRIVES UP WITH HIS OUTBOARD TO THE TREE WE WERE FISHING. AS WE SAT THERE SPEECHLESS, HE PROCEEDS TO TELL US THAT HE IS BAITING HIS YOYO'S, AND ASKED IF WE WERE CATCHING THIS MORNING. NEEDLESS TO SAY, HE GOT AN EARFUL, AND DIDNT COME ANYWHERE NEAR US FOR THE NEXT TWO DAYS.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THE TEAL BAG LIMIT IS DURING THE REGULAR DUCK SEASON?? I KNOW ITS 4 FOR THE TEAL SEASON, BUT I COULD HAVE SWORN IT WAS 6 FOR THE REG SEASON, IF THATS THE ONLY DUCKS YOU KILL. THANKS.
t-sos and i decided to give it a go this past sunday. we smoked the reds, and caught a bunch of specks too. fished the weirs at rollover. cant wait to go back.
went out today with neaux sheaux and bree despite the frigid conditions. caught a few in the early morning before the cold weather sent us back to the truck. bree was the top dog today. must have been practicing his technique in his back yard or something. plan on going back sunday with t-sos if weather permits.

WENT OUT TO THE MARSH YESTERDAY WITH NEAUX SHEAUX AND BREE. GOT THREE LIMITS OF GOOD SIZED REDS, AND ABOUT TEN THROW BACKS. BREE WAS OFF HIS GAME, BUT WE WERE HAPPY TO HELP HIM FINISH OUT HIS LIMIT. LEFT 'EM BITING. CANT WAIT TO GO BACK.
hey, fellers... i need some help. i just bought an xpress hd 20 footer with a four stroke 115 yammy on a 6inch jackplate. bought the boat new and told the dealer to put the jack on because i fish shallow areas alot. heres the problem...the first time i put the boat in the water, i noticed it sits pretty low in the back as compared to the front end. and when coming off plane i have to watch it or the water wants to come in the back. now..would taking off the jackplate help the boat sit more level in the water??some people told me it probably wouldnt matter that much and some have said that it is acting like a counterweight, moving that heavy 4 stroke back away from the boat, making the transom dip. any suggestions???
REDEYE, THINKING ABOUT DRIVING FROM LAFAYETTE TOMORROW TO BIG LAKE. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHERE YOU WOULD TRY FOR SPECKS?
THANKS, P- BACK
HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF THISTLETHWAITE HAVING A LOT OF RATTLESNAKES? I HAVE BEEN THERE A FEW TIMES BUT HAVE NEVER SEEN THESES FEROCIOUS SNAKES. TALKED TO A FEW PEOPLE WHO HAVE TOLD ME ABOUT THESE SNAKES, EVEN A GAME WARDEN. A BUDDY OF MINE TOLD ME A FEW DAYS AGO 2 OR 3 PEOPLE HAD TO BE AIR LIFTED OUT OF THERE BECAUSE OF SNAKE BITES. P.S. IS THERE AN AREA ON THE PROPERTY WHERE THE PALMETTOS ARENT AS BAD?? I'D LIKE TO SHOOT A FEW SQUIRRELS THERE IF I COULD. THANKS.

redeye, you seem to be the man around big lake. any idea where i could catch a few flounder? i've heard possibly in oyster bayou. not sure where that is. planning to go out there monday or tuesday. any help would be appreciated. thanks. oh, yeah, does anyone know if the boat launch at the cameron jetties is open??
went to the south of marsh island this morning. first stop- no fish. went to diamond reef. had four or five other boats already out there. caught twenty big fat purpleback specks in about thirty minutes, then the bite slowed down. picked one up here and there along the reef after that. lsu cocahoes two feet under a popping cork. decided to run back to the point. three boats were right off the point. started throwing new penny colored gulps on the bottom. started catching nice white trout right away. also started catching croakers on the same bait. i kid you not, we could have sat there all day catching croakers one after the other-ON EVERY CAST- they could not resist the new penny gulps. i mean it was ridiculous. we left them biting. didnt feel like cleaning an ice chest full of croaker, but we kept about forty of them. tight lines.
planning to fish the reefs south of marsh island in the morning. anyone been doing any good? hadnt been out there since last week. any suggestions?
after reading finfeatherfur's reports the last few days, decided to make a run through the pass this morning to fish south of marsh island. the water was clear and green and about as calm as you could ask for. limited out before noon with nice specks in the 2-4lb. range- all on plastics. we also got 2 keeper reds, one flounder, a few sand trout, and one bull croaker. spoke to a guy at dago's before the trip who had also been reading fff's reports on this site. hope you guys were as lucky as we were. can't wait to go back.
have never caught sheepshead. i have heard they are pretty good to eat. any suggestions as to where i could catch a few of these things?????
