I've been hunting North of Crowley this year and the majority of ducks I see fly a little higher. I've tried just about everything with my spread and I'm happy just to get them to take a second look at it, which is pretty rare. I know the ducks want to be in the area because I see them feeding in fields not far away. The only thing I can figure is that they can't hear me. I'm used to hunting in the marsh so none of my calls are really made for open water.

I'd like to hear some different opinions from some of y'all that can work ducks in the rice fields for some good sounding calls that get decently loud, preferably double reed. I'm not trying to go screaming at them like they do in Stuttgart, I just want something that can get their attention.

Any advice is appreciated

A comment titled: RNT in response to a report titled: Loud calls in a rice field

I'm willing to try anything at this point. It's starting to get just plain depressing watching flock after flock flying too high to hear me, or at least they don't act like it. Come second split my blind might sound like a mallard hen version of a hard rock concert.

I hunt with a guy who has an RNT (l don't know the model) but his flattens out when he tries to blow hard. I might have to try the original next time I get a chance, is it a double?

I don't upload my photos onto my computer very often so i don't have my best hunt ever. Here's a picture of some good trophies I got on one of the better hunts so far this year.
