Great fishing this weekend in Leeville. Stayed at BWM and really enjoyed the people and on Saturday night the band. My grandson sat and listened and watched . Thanks to Capt Bob for letting him strum the strings on his guitar. Will be back soon

On Sunday I killed a pig in West Felicana very near the Tunica Hills Angola tract, Upon cleaning the pig my son noticed these long worms about 8-10 inches in the gut barrel. When we got home we goolged them and found they are called Acarius worms. They are in the round worm family and can be contacted by humans. They are apparently not that common around here. Had to get some worm pills from the doctor to be safe. This is just a heads up to ya'll in case you run into this. Let me know if anyone else has seen this.

I have developed a stimulus package to cure all of our economic woes.
There are 40 million people over the age of 50 in the US.
Give each of them $1,000,000 dollars with the following requirements
1. They must quit thier jobs. Unemployment solved

2. They must pay off thier mortage or build a new house. Housing crisis solved.

3. They must buy an American car. Auto industry saved.

Price-$40,000,000 not Trillions.

I will admit to being guilty of bashing other comments and politicans but I think it is time to rise above the mud and act like the hard-working Americans that we are. Let us appreciate what we have and move on.They are hundreds of countries in the world who would take what we have as the greatest system ever. Let us protect that system and quit beating each other up. Let us unite for the common good and show the rest of the world what True Americans are made of.
We have many problems to solve, so let's not add to the list. I for one am going to talk about hunting and fishing like this section is supposed to do and let the politics work itself out.

I have some property in West Feliciana that is select cut with lots of cover and food. I have a good population of all types of animals except quail. Do you think I could stock the property by letting pen raised birds loose? I really would like to do this. I also plan on trapping and releasing some Fox squirrels in my neighborhood on this property as all I have are cat squirrels. Has anyone else tried either of these.

As hunting season wears down and fishing picks up, let us not forget those who make it possible for us to enjoy these things. OUR SOLDIERS. Those who have gone and those who serve now. Without them and thier sacrifices we would not be able to do the things we do or debate the ideas we have. Thanks to them we have the freedom to be what or whom we wish. Next time you see a veteran, thank them, buy them lunch or pay for thier groceries. It is a small thing that makes you feel very big and good.

Too low of air pressure will cause this most of time. Inflate tires to max of 50 lbs for trailer special tires

A comment titled: Nero Fiddles While La Burns in response to a report titled: tony haywards yacht race??????

How about Obama. He went to a ball game and played golf. Do you really think he is concerned about us. If you can blame haywood then some blame should go to Obama, The government has stalled in every possible way they can to the clean up. They even shut down the suction trucks for a while to show us they are in charge. Someone said if rhis really was a war as Obama said we would be occupied territory now.

Two people I know very closely were written up Saturday before last at leeville for being 100 yards across the closure line that was put in effect the nite before. The LDWF is not as nice as they would like you to believe, This was thier first time to even be fishing and knew of the closure but did not the line had moved just hours before. Go figure. another way to add insult to injury to the state's people

A comment titled: TIME TO VENT in response to a report titled: Thread locked, but discussion can continue

Does anyone here believe that the Corps could go any slower with the dredge permit. They are worried about the environmental impact. Can't they just look at all the brown sludge and figure it out. Better to do nothing then no one gets blamed.
Get ready for fish kill pictures from the marsh brought to you by the WLF. Be very skeptical about this because there were hundreds of fish thrown away this weekend. Dead fish that had been caught. People were forced to throw thier fish away by the WLF. More insult to injury.
Advice to Jindal. Screw the CORPS. Start dredging. There is no Judge in LA that would hold you responsible for doing what is right. Go for it
We will support anything that works.

A comment titled: ITS MECHANICAL in response to a report titled: Thread locked, but discussion can continue

Everything in the oilfield is mechanical. Man made mechanical devices fail even with inspections and tests. Now is not really the time to figure it out but the time to take drastic action to stop the damage. Lets ALL hope one of the ideas work. it is to our benifit for it to be successful ASAP. At leaasr BP is trying things. Maybe if the Govt got out of the way things could progress faster. They have been using a certified dispersent but now are told to use something else. EPA in action responding to public pressure instead of good science.

May 22, 2010 at 12:36pm

WLF was issuing citations this a.m. right near the leeville bridge syaing it was closed waters. They posted this closure yesterday p.m. You had to throw all your fish away. Even made a crabber dump all his crabs. Be sure you know the boundries as they are constantly changing

I bought some of these reels for the same reason. The triggers are a very poor design and quit working in a very short time. I exchanged them for some more reels but the same problem occurred. I would not reccommend thes trigger reels at all. They are more trouble than they save

I shoot a A-bolt 7mm-08 using 139 gr Hornady Light Magnum Ballistic tips. I have been shooting this gun for at least 10 years and have never had a deer leave it's tracks. I really like the gun and have killed some 200 lb plus deer with it. It is more than enough gun for anything in LA>

A comment titled: Battery Education in response to a report titled: Trolling motor batteries?

I learned a lot about batteries by researching them. Everything you need to know about a battery is out there. Many batteries are manufactired by one company but sold under several names. You can often find the same baterry for a different price because it has a different name. Minn Kota and Stow-Away are 2 good examples of that. Learn all you can before you buy. With batteries size is important both from an electrical stand point and a physical size. Some of these batteries are quite large. Mine are 14" long and wiegh 61 pounds.

A comment titled: Reserve Capacity in response to a report titled: Trolling motor batteries?

Reserve Capacity (RC) - BCI defines it as "the number of minutes a new, fully-charged battery at 80F (27C) can be discharged at 25 amps and maintain a voltage equal to or higher than 1.75 volts per cell" (i.e., 10.5 volts for a 12-volt battery). This rating represents the time the battery will continue to operate essential accessories in the event of a charging system failure.

A comment titled: INTERSTATE BATTERIES in response to a report titled: Trolling motor batteries?

Just put 2 interstate SRM 29 deep cycle batteries on my trolling motor. Cost $95 each and have a 30 month warranty. Bought in Baton Rouge at the Interstate store. They have 210 minutes of reservew capacity with 675 cca. They are large and heavy but that is because they have a lot of plates.
