There is a constant attempt by some piece-of-filth to SCAM readers of Louisiana Sportsman's online classifieds. Almost daily, this same SCAM artist posts a pair of ATV's on a trailer with a ridiculously low price. There should be some way to TRACK the IP address of this SCAMMER.

Planning a trip Saturday to the Basin in the Bayou Pigeon area...can't wait; there will be cooler temperatures forecasted to be around 60 degrees Saturday morning with a FULL moon for this coming Monday. The bream and goggle-eye should be going back into their spawning beds and the sac-a-lait should be more aggressively biting with the cooler temperatures.

My wife and I went fishing Saturday in the Bayou Pigeon....
I had been hearing the reports coming from the Atchafalaya Basin but have been unable to go fishing for some time. That changed Sunday. My wife and I took the boat out to Bayou Pigeon. It was on!!! We fished for goggle-eye and bream. I fished with a 1/32 oz black Slater's jig while my wife fished with crickets. Those big goggle-eye were hammering everything put in front of them. You could.... The Basin is huge and offers opportunity most everywhere.....
I've made two trips to the Atchafalaya Basin to fish in the Bayou Pigeon area the last two weekends. Caught plenty of sacalait, goggle-eye, bream, bass and catfish on jigs. Threw back a lot of bass that were undersized.
I really enjoyed my time out on the water. But one thing that I saw that I did not like were groups of hunters in boats idling around with loaded guns shooting squirrels from.... Read More

My wife and I have enjoyed two weekend trips to Lake Okhissa in Franklin County, Mississippi. The lake level has risen approximately two feet from this time last year. We found huge bream next to submerged pine trees or briars in four to six feet of water. You have to look close to find the submerged pine trees and briars as these are now just below the surface; but.... Read More

I went up to Lake Okhissa in Franklin County, Mississippi on Saturday. We met one of my co-workers and his wife for the Championship of the Civilized World Bream Fishing Tournament (i.e. bragging rights). We caught some monster sized bream that doubled our fiberglass poles almost to the breaking point. I have caught nice bream in the Atchafalaya Basin...but these bream were H-U-G-E!!! We didn't.... I purchased a used boat with a Johnson 50 HP motor. I knew that the motor needed some work when I bought it. I took my motor to Nolan's Outboard in Zachary and had the motor rebuilt...top to bottom, including the water pump. I was told to run my newly rebuilt motor at half throttle until it was broke in. My wife and I went down to the Atchafalaya Spillway on Saturday, June 23rd. The water has fallen quite a bit over the last few weeks and we wanted to see how the bream, google-eye and sacalait were biting. We put in at Pigeon Landing and went to our favorite honey-hole. We ended up with 97 fish, including 66 bream, 12 catfish, 2 sacalait and the rest were Goggle-Eye.
