Can anyone tell me the pro's-cons of a 35 Whelen vs a 45-70 on an Encore-they are legal in MS during muzzle loader season, and was wondering which is better all around. Distance, knock down, accuracy, bullet drop, etc. Any experience is welcome.

Which bow sight would/did you put on your bow? Just purchased a Hoyt-Carbon element and want your input. I shoot 27 1/2' draw length @ 70#, Easton Axis 400 arrows, QAD Ultra rest-HD will be part of the setup. Need input on stabilizer & sight. Thanks in advance.

Lookin for info on ammo out of the 35 Whelen. Remington Core loc's or Hornady? 200 grain bullets. Anyone experienced both?

Hit the pipeline @ 0730. Watched the blizard and the deer until the branches started cracking @ 9. This nice 8 stepped out on a hunter well deserved. Good job son. Proud Pappa, Kernge.
I'm in the planning stages of a 2009 Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, or Missouri archery deer hunt. If anyone has any good or bad experiences with outfitters or lodges that they've visited recently please share them with me. I'm looking for a 5-6 day hunt with meals and room included. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Had a great huntin season so far. Missed a big buck in Illinois but got a nice 8 in MS. and my daughter Laila got her first deer. Jeremy's still looking. Glad to get us all together for a couple of hunts.

Saturday morning 10/8/05-Got a shot with my new Hoyt Vtec, a pass through on an 87lb doe @ 25yds. Shoulda waited 30 seconds more before I shot cuz a 130lb old grey doe and a hundred pounder came in and stopped @ 18 yards brodside without a clue I was up there.
