I am the fisherman formally known as kokopelli. I traded the kokopelli in a new inshore boat my wife calls reel blessed. I fished today north of Grand Isle I caught one 15 and a half inch trout. Water was stained to dirty but still a good day.

Tough weekend in Leeville. It all started Friday night, while getting everything ready for en early morning start I missed the last step on the porch and messed my back up, (tough getting old). Thanks Capt Bob for the advice yesterday. I fished Bayou Blue in my old faithful spot this morning and had to leave them biting. Today’s count.....Kokopelli limit!!! 20 white trout and seven specks with a few hard heads and lady fish in the mix. The key was anything fished Carolina rigged shrimp, cocahoes, artificial’s in 9-12 feet of water.We were back at the camp by 9am.

I had the awesome pleasure of introducing 2 first timers to the wonders of the Gulf of Mexico. My oldest grandson who is 16 and my 72 yo mother. It was an awesome day for a trip to South Timbalier block. wow, some funny looking red fish....must have caught them....
This evenings trip to west little lake was more productive this than this mornings trip. Koko limit not reached but still fun. One 12 1/2' speck one small croaker several rat reds, ladyfish and hard heads. The best part was my three year old grand son learning to cast and doing a dang good job, won't be much longer before he gets a hook to go with his cork, good job Daniel!

Took the better half out this morning looking for some trout. Went to fornation isle and found a parking lot, which soon cleared out. Only caught one hard head and one lady fish. On the way back in we stopped in Bay Rosa and picked up one speck 11 1/2 inches and one small hard head. Its a rare day when I don,t even catch a hardhead, heck I catch them 30 miles offshore and in january inshore, today was one of those days. Fished a few islands in raccourci had a few bites but didnt land one single fish. My neighbor has fished leeville for over 40 years only managed 25 trout with a crew of 4 on board. Of course I can always blame this chest cold for not making a Kokopelli.... Read More

I followed my camp neighbor out this morning to his double blindfold secrete spot and was not disappointed. My wife and I landed 26 nice trout most in the 15 - 17 inch range. They were persuaded to sacrifice them selves to live Terry's shrimp and chartreuse speck rigs all under the cork.

Whitebeans I managed a Kokopelli limit of trout this morning. I started out in D's pond, on nice sting ray. moved around to try several different spots with no luck. I decided to try by the red camp in little lake still nothing. I trolled over to the rock pile in between the red camp and the helicopter pad. First cast with the cork and chartreuse speck rig.... New roof going on the camp Friday so I came down a night early, shrimp are every where hope that is a good sign as to what Fridays morning trip on a riseing tide will bring. I will post the results in the morning.
I got a late start this morning due to thick fog and no running lights. Went to see Terry for bait and then off in search of a Kokopelli limit of fish. Took the wife out with me this evening, and had a good time, one slot red and three 13' specks real fast than the rest of the evening was all throw back trout in the range from 5' to 11'. The wife says if juvenile reds are rat reds than juvenile specs are mouse specks, so we threw back dozens of mouse / mice specks. I will make one more trip in the AM before calling it a week. Fished the marsh this morning on the falling tide first up a puppy drum followed by a small flounder. I eased up to the opening in the marsh to sight cast a few reds, 1,2,3 real quick, two slot reds and one rat red, than the bite quit. Tried a few more spots picked up another flounder. Last spot I picked up two more slot reds followed by the phone call from the wife that breakfast was ready.

The trout eluded me once again on the hard falling tide this morning. I managed 1 small speck, 1 very small croker 5 rat reds two slot reds one small flounder and a Bull Red that towed me half way across Little Lake before I wore him down enough to land and release him (speck rod). All were caught with Terry's minnows under a cork.
