Capt. Paul, I just downloaded your edge file and the waypoints on my unit. When I opened all the files on my computer, there is a color map with all the waypoints on one of these adobe files. Can this detailed map be converted to the unit or does the waypoints only load to the base map in the unit itself? Your Map has a little more detail than the map in the unit.

The Adobe Acrobat .PDF file cannot be installed in a GPS unit. It is provided to give you detailed locations and a general idea where the Edge Waypoints are located. I suggest that you print out the file and bring it on board as a guide and backup.
It will fit nicely in a 2,gallon Zip type freezer bag.
ONLY the specific file that is designated for your brand of GPS unit can be loaded into your GPS as waypoints. These waypoints will appear as an overlay on what ever mapping program you may have for your unit. These files are written in the required protocol for the unit. GARMIN files will not work in a Lowrance or Humminbird and the reverse.
You MUST use the manufacturer's Data Transfer Program to transfer the data from the download to the memory card then to the or to the unit self.
Most units to avoid sticker shock, do not include a detailed mapping in the unit. Most users will have to purchase an approved mapping program to supplement the Base Map that comes with the unit.

Boy was it rough in the lil Alweld today. But, the fish didn't mind. 3rd spot and it was on! Ended up with 25 nice specs and a few white mixed in. The TKO Glow Shrimp was the ticket doubled up on the bottom.

Good Day! Went to the DU yesterday and only took 2 stops. Limit specs and 31 white trout. TKO clear/chartreuse tail shrimp was the winner.
Looking to upgrade my Eagle Cuda 350 S/Map to a Lowrance Mark 4. It looks like it has good reviews but looking to see if anyone has one and if its worth the $200. Looking for pros and cons. It will be going on a small boat for lake and coastal fishing.

Went to Bayou DuLarge for a short trip Thursday morning and caught easy limit. Brought son Thursday afternoon for a while and he caught his limit. I went back Friday morning and caught another limit. Went to Manchac to fish Hwy 51 canals. Wind made it tough. Fished til noon with only 2 small bass to show for efforts, bait was everywhere. Coming back across the pass, seagulls and bait exploding. Well due to the heat for the last 30 days, the only water the boat has been in was from T.S. Lee. How is the water level in False River and conditions? I need to get out and wet the line but don't know if its worth the wild with all the fresh water.

Took a late afternoon trip to the river Tuesday with the weather pushing through. Wind blowing and green water made for a good day. We fished island side and picked up a total of 11 bass with 8 needing no measurement off the docks. 3 averaged +2# and 5 at 1.5-2. They were hanging 6'-8' off the ends of the docks on the shady side. JJ and I went to Bayou Dularge today. It has been several years since we were in the area. Today I noticed the pipeline canal off Bayou Dularge has pipes across the pilings with only one small opening. The cut around the right bank has been attempted to be blocked off too. Help. Driving from Baton Rouge to Bayou Dularge in the morning for fish. I will be launching at the end of the road. Is the store still there, what is the current launch fee and do they have bait shrimp? If not, where is a good place to get bait? Thanks Rat

I have that same motor (bow mount)on a 1546 flat. Works....
I regularly fish Bayou Lacombe in my Alweld 15' with a Yami 25.My question is how many of you would take it out to Lake P from the mouth to Goose Point to fish the northshore? Calm winds of course. Thinking about it later during this week. Thanks TreeRat

yea i would do it, i got a 14' flat with a nissan 8 hp....
I was running my 2 stroke yamaha 25 and while running with 2 tanks this week and trying to empty one to clean it out. The tank ran out about 200 yards fron dock. I switched tanks and while primimg the bulb, it was blowing bubbles into the tank and not through the in-line filter then to motor. Is this a sign of a faulty primer bulb and need to replace? Left the house to attempt a few hours on the river. Started with crank baits and caught on all 5 different colors I threw. Only kept 3 due to size. Switched to chart spinner bait and landed 3 more only to keep 1. Switched back to cranks to land 3 more but kept 1. Not to bad and home by 1. What is the latest on the drawdown?

Lowering the lake will not happen, at least for several....
Help. I live in a subdivision just north of Denham Springs and the last 2 weeks at dark, a red fox runs the rabbits across the back yard. The neighborhood cats are also disappearing. I would like to pop him but due to the closeness of homes, I don't want to take the chance. Does anyone local know of a reliable removal service? LAWLF won't touch it. Thanks Tree Rat.
