  • Father and Son having a great time.
  • Jason with Reese and a nice trout.
  • Yes, Keith did catch one.
Keith, Jason Mouliere and his two boys Reese and Ryley came down for the super trout bite and they were not disappointed. Right of the bat we found some fish but they were small so we didn't stay long on the reef. Next stop was a well cribbing and it was the right one. We stayed there for a couple of hours catcing fish steady when we were alone there (more on that later) the littlest one Ryley....  Read More

Trout season is here and its time to get your dates on the books for this fantastic fishery. Transition is over and the trout are everywhere from the islands to the inshore lakes. HLT plastics are the bait of choice and whether you fish them under a popping cork or tight lined you will be rewarded with some great tasting fillets for dinner. Also right now is great top water action on big trout.....  Read More

  • 4.5#
Yesterday Capt Chris and I went scouting and I promised a little detail of what we did. With a great weather window Chris and I decided to go to Cocodrie and check out the movement of the trout to the beach. We started in the west of Pelto and found fish right away even before daylight. I couldn't see the top water bait it was so early. We could hear the trout hitting the surface all around us.....  Read More

When Raymond Sonnier called and booked a trip a few days ago and asked what day would the weather be better for fishing. Well at the time it showed that today would be best with little to no rain. That changed but we decided to go anyway. The day started out nice in Cocodrie with no rain and about 10 MPH wind. We ran south to the islands and found clean water and hungry trout. Shell reefs in 5'....  Read More

With the weather forecast not looking very good and with slickers in hand Capt's Tommy, Gerald, Austin and Chris took to the waters in search of some big reds that wanted to take an ice nap. Four boats and three directions to find the fish. Capt Chris V was first on the fish with Gerald and I hitting a dead zone. After a couple of phone calls and text messages I put the Skeeter pointed in....  Read More

Just as the sun was taking a peak out for the day the first bull was on. It started quick but faded quick also. The first stop found 3 or 4 fish....  Read More

  • Jason's red fish
Brad, Jeremy, and Jason came down from the north and wanted in on the great bull red fishing. WE were a little unsure of the bite today when leaving the dock because of the cooler temperatures and the low water. When we got to the honey hole the tide was rolling in very hard and I was getting more worried about the bite. Well, as soon as the crab smell got in the water it was game on for about 3....  Read More

Jordan Boudoe and gang came for a bull red trip but ended up with a bull red and drum slam. I started the day with 5 dozen crabs and we went through every one. That made 120 baits and I know that we caught close to 60 or 70 bulls today. Most fish weren't even put in the boat just released happy to fight another day. All these fish are along the coast in deep bayous and they are mixed drum and....  Read More

Sal, Crystal, Penny and Ryan came down to catch some fish and they got real with it very quick. The first stop had birds diving on shrimp with trout chasing, oh what a sight. There was lots of small fish but we put 40 nice trout in the box before we got carried away by the gnats. We could have easily caught lots more but the bugs were so bad that we all agreed that it was too much. We left the....  Read More

I am in need of a deck hand for this fishing season. If anyone wants to come aboard let me know and let me know your experience. Must have transportation to the Cocodrie/Dularge area. A Captain/deck hand would be great.

  • Steve McNemar is a great believer in the High Life Tackle Swimmer Gold Tiger color.
Just got this report from Steve McNemar saying not only do the trout love the HLT Swimmer right now but the bass are tearing it up. If you don't know by now the Dularge area is on fire with trout. HLT Swimmer JR. in Bunker or Glow should be outlawed. they are killing the fish.

I ran a couple of days out of Cocodrie for Top Water and it was game on from the start each day. The cold weather had the reds stacked up in deep holes so that make for easy pickings with either dead shrimp or Black/Gold Ripple shad from Berkley. Under a cork or tight lined didn't make a difference on the catch. The reds made it easy to find them as they were blowing up the pot belly minnows on....  Read More
