This is pictures of my 3 buck limit this year. I hunt in middle Alabama and it has been a good year. Strangly they are all 8 pts, saw a couple really big ones but couldn't get a shot. Can't wait until next year. The last picture had a spread of about 19 inches. the middle picture deer weighs about 200 lbs

I read a lot of comments on hunting with dogs, some positive and some negative and some from people that have no clue on what they are talking about. We are getting set to plant our food plots. we have in the past for a number of years planted a mixture of rye, oats and wheat. I have been told recently that the planting of rye is almost a waste of money as the deer do not eat it and it has no value to them. I know they eat it, but what i don't know if it is worth the money spend on it.

we at times discussed what was a management deer and cull bucks. Heres a picture of a pretty buck weighting at about 250 lbs that I saw a couple times but didn't shoot because I believe he is on the down side as to antler growth,
His size and statue are very impressive. This is a big older buck that I believe can father some very good off spring. Am I wrong?

does anyone know how to tell the bullet weight(grain) of a bullet by looking at it. I don't see any grain size on the casing.
