Too nice of day to work or stay home.Ran down to Bienvenue and dropped a line.Nothing too insane but steady quality fish were coming over the side at all our stops.Can't ever remember seeing so many shrimp poppin this time of year.We clocked 50 speckles,7 reds,1 bass and one white bass by 1:30.Tiger bait matrix and hardbaits got it done.All the usual winter haunts have life,great wall and.... Me and old Pal Stafford fished Bayou B today and had a awesome day caught fish at every stop we made.The trout are all over right now and became a nuisance while trying to get reds.All we threw was matrix tiger bait on a 3/8 head.Ended with 50 beautiful trout, 2 drumses,1 red and a bass.

Fishing keeps getting better all the time from the east to the west and all points in between seeing fish all over the Pontchatrain basin,very few areas are unproductive right now,and will only get better.All I have been fishing is the matrix in really any color but been using tiger bait color mostly.Made a quick afternoon trip yesterday here's a pic

Fished the ICW the past two days,yesterday caught 47 trout 30 reds (no we didn't keep 30)fished again this morning with a three hour window landed 22 trout 10 reds 1 bass 1 flounder released another 20 or so reds,fish caught on matrix shad midnight mullet on a 3/8

Made an early morning run to Bayou Bienvenue yesterday and the moral to the story is sleep in a little,as the bite got really strong around 11 am.We got in a great redfish bite along the rocks in the channel caught our 15 in no time and played catch and release for awhile and anyone who says redfish are trash obviously hasn't looked into the eyes if a young lad tied up to one of these brutes.The.... Fished from 9:00 till 3 today and from the first drop till I left the sacs were on.Caught and released around 70 sac a lait alot of Dinks but alot of slabs too.I used the baby shad in salt and pepper back for more tomorrow

Sac a lait are strong on all the rivers on the northshore mouth of gum bayou is really good right now tightlining jigs or shiners

Man I been hammering the speckled trout but now ready to....
Had a blast fishing this morning in the lake.The fishing was slow to start but once it did we had a consistent bite.Started out with topwater had some gorgeous trout crushing our plugs.That faded out a bit so started chunking the catch 2000 and it was game on again.When that died out started bumping the Matrix shad on the bottom and got our other 22 fish to fill our limit.I was extremely happy.... Made a solo trip this morning,got on some good ones with a nice kicker mule trout.Was a great morning called it a day early,well for me anyway.Mirrorlures and tightline plastic worked about the same but better quality on hard lures.

The fishing is incredible right now as it seems every time I get to go limits are the norm except the fish are getting bigger.Lost two fish today that were well over 5lbs and Im being conservative,they were absolute MONSTAS!I will be thinking about what I should have done different for a long time.But we had a great day on the water catching our limit and playing catch and release for a while.... Did a little perch jerkin down in the bayou,was slow but managed 19 decent ones in some less than ideal conditions.

Made a trip to Rigolets today.It only took one stop to limit out on specks and a bonus doormat.The mirrorlure 52mr ch was hands down the winner but we caught good on the lemon drop hybrid too.

Hit the lake Friday,found an area with alot of shrimp popping the surface and came up with 45 trout 1 rat red and a flounder.Nearly all the fish were caught on the copperhead deadly dudley tightlined.Its been a while since I have seen color make that much difference but it absolutely did.The tide quit and so did the fish keeping us 5 from our limit but it was still more than I wanted to.... Got or limits easily in the afternoon,the only thing we used were gulps under a cork, the fish were liking it and I wasnt in the mood to argue with em,not 5 minutes from the marina some white trout mixed in but most were pretty nice for bird fish

I dont think I have ever caught as many fish as I did yesterday.I fished two points with a cut and landed over a hundred Bass.The fish were in a frenzy,packs of 1-3 lbrs chasing bait.I went through a bunch of worms cause when I was reeling one in there would be as many as 4 other bass following the hooked fish and snatching the worm off the line,truly incredible and a day I wont soon forget

Got out around 2:30 this afternoon when the tide would be falling and as luck would have it actually was,the fish were in a pretty good frenzy hitting a variety of artificials,I lost some really nice specks on a little swimbait I was throwing but it was a great evening we landed 38 specks 2 reds and a lone flounder
