The Zito / Ingram crew came to the camp Friday and Saturday for a blast and cast. On Friday the conditions were poor with very little wind. Unfortunately the teal have all but disappeared from our lease and I don't know why? The dosgris saved the day for the hunt mixed with a few greys and redheads.
Saturday we got hit by the rain with similar....
The Paw-Paw's Pirogue Family has been fighting the rain all day loading up for our annual Duck Commander Hunt. We are getting on the road in the morning with our second shipment of DC Special Edition Pirogues and an ice chest full of seafood for the Robertson Family. The trip is one we look forward to all year and we hope to get on some Mallards to go along with the great hospitality and....
For us hunting has remained outstanding with the exception of this morning. We've been counting in sixes pretty routinely. I have made three duck hunts since second season opened. The first two were really good. Today was so so.
Opening day second split a buddy and me went energy spending. We put out about 5-6 dozen finely detailed decoys. Teal, pintail, greys, mallards and wood....
I got a chance to take my son out the last weekend before first season closed. He is 9 and is shooting his .410 at everything so I thought what better time!
We got to the camp Friday afternoon late. We didn't have any hide on the blind, so we went driving around in the mud boat looking for roseau for the blind. Not fun to do in the fog! We made it work though and got to bed about....
pretty good day in Des Allemands, Louisiana. me and my dad shot both ended up shooting our limit and had ourself a pretty good bag of ducks. By the way the birds behind the ducks are coot, (for gumbo).
This morning was another Awesome hunting experience in Delacroix. I shared my blind with my dad and his neighbor Don, both in their mid 70's. My dad has killed more ducks than most of us could even dream about in his life hunting Delacroix but Don is a different story. He has not hunted ducks since the age of 15 and today killed his first ducks in 60 years. It was like I was in the blind with....
Merry Christmas to everyone out there in the LA Sportsman Family. The Paw-Paw's Pirogues Family and Fanny's Family Guide Service wishes all of you the best during this special time of year. Good luck to all the rest of the season and stay safe on the water!
Conditions were very good today. The high water finally is near normal. Winds were right and the ducks were on the move. Still not shooting the grey we would like but its duck hunting and we take what we comes our way.
Sunday was another great hunt for me with regulars Louis, Aaron, and Paul. Their shooting was straight as we finished another 4 man limit of 24. Today the GW teal showed back up and made for the majority of the limit. The hunt was highlighted by killing 7 teal out of a flock of 12 and ending the hunt killing 5 of 7 redheads that made a pass on the decoys. The biggest advise I can share is to be....
My dog was lost in the marsh in Delacroix this afternoon, and we were not able to find her before dark. I am working on getting a plane to search in the morning, but would appreciate anyone who is going out in the am to keep a look out.

she was wearing a camouflage vest, a black collar with tag, and an e-collar.
This morning I help out my cousin Barry with his group. It was a little slower today due to the fog, rain, and lack of wind. We still managed a good hunt with two young hunters killing their first ducks and first redhead with a total of 10 on the strap. The moring ended with a beautiful rainbow as we paddled back to the boats. It's not alway about killing limits. Youngster first ducks and pics....
Since I was a little boy I've wanted to go duck hunting, well I was out at big branch marsh wr and I saw a bunch of ducks and hunter. So I'm planning to grab my gun and waders and try to hunt by my self. I sure could use some help. I don't have decoys or calls or a dog or experience. Please help .
The second split opened with a great hunts with Fanny's Family Guide Service. I had regulars George, Luke, and Pat on Saturday and the ducks were flying. They killed limits of mostly greys with a few teal, 2 redheads and 2 Dogris added in. Our cross wind setup made for some good shot opportunities in tough shooting conditions in the strong wind. With some patience the greys commited and could....
