Hi guys, I would really like to take my boyfriend on a surprise fishing trip in Louisiana. We are from Austin, Texas and we both love Louisiana and would like to go in August or September. I don't know a whole lot about fishing, but I do know he loves to catch red fish. Are there any trips, guides, or spots that y'all would recommend during that time of the year? I really appreciate it! Jamie

Coming to GI next week for a few days without a boat. Wondering if we can catch fish around Bridgewater Marina, beaches, where??? Can we catch specks now? What lures are best? I'm new to the area and trying to learn all I can. thanks
Anybody know where I can buy frozen pogies, beef melt or other kinds of bait that will work well for Crawfishing somewhere close to Baton Rouge or Henderson? I've seen videos on youtube of people using some kind of bait that looks like sausage for crawfish.
I was planning on running 20 pillow traps or so out of my kayak just for fun near Ramah, Henderson and maybe try Lake Verrett..... Read More
I bough a alum boat and wanting to put a GPS on it. On the transom there was a old transducer Mount that I removed. I read the instructions on the placement of the new transducer but don't really understand them. Should I put it in the same place as the old Mount I pulled off? The new mount is a little bigger and the screw holes wouldn't match up what would be the best way to plug the holes.... Read More
Beads weren't the only thing to be caught this Mardi Gras, at least not around Leeville and Fourchon. Finally getting a break in the weather and with turkey season right around the corner, the ole' lady and I loaded up and headed south for the weekend. As usual, my first move was to check with Capt. Bob Gourgues out of Leeville to see what the recent weeks were delivering for him. Best I can.... Read More

Fished Friday out of Boudreaux’s in Leeville with an old Bass fishing buddy. He purchased a new 2600HPS Pathfinder and wanted to do some running and fishing. He lives in Fla. and was in La. for Mardi Gras and had his new boat in tow. We had a light wind from the Southeast so we escaped the Gnats by running to Belle Pass. When we hit the Gulf surface water temp.... Read More
Only in Louisiana can you have tables that look like this. Hopefully this last front gets out of the way soon because the fishing has just been getting better and better everyday. Kamikaze Vortex Shads and Ultraviolet Matrix Shads were the trick the past couple days. And tube jigs in blue and white and opening night for the sac a lait. Looking forward to a good spring filled with tons of nice.... Read More
Started out the morning with a cool breeze out on the lake and caught a few more nice specks and then went and smoked the sac a lait in the afternoon. Won't be long before the specks really turn on out there in the lake but days like this will definitely keep me entertained for a while. Caught the specks jigging the Ultraviolet Matrix Shad and the Nightruse Vortex Shad again. And sac a lait on.... Read More
