So i ran out to the new southshore marina off chef pass despite all the rain and hard N/NE winds and it payed off. After i found them i limited out in 1.5 hrs on a matrix shad in the chicken on a chain/chart color.....  Read More

Windy Friday at the Beach. Had the pleasure of fishing with Pat, Brian, and Dan again. They have fished with me for several years now and they are a lot of fun. We started out chasing Trout in Machias and put a few in the box, but the winds made things tough and it looked like they were not gone to let up. We changed gears and ran back into the marsh to find some Reds. Our fist stop put a few....  Read More

Decided to go practice up on my top water casting for marsh bass after the rain broke this evening. Water was real muddy.. Missed 1 bass, caught 6 juve Specks. Missed another half a dozen or so that had tried to bite off more then they could chew. Didn't stop them from pop-in at it though. What a blast! Pop, pop pop, sounded like gun fire..lol

I'd say, it's safe to say....  Read More

20 mph wind and still had good bite on the inside islands and several bull reds we turned loose but the hottest action was was when the wind slowed , we got on the jetties with live shrimp. The bait stealers were not there for a change. No real big trout but in 2 hrs we had a load. I think September will be great if winds die down.

Day 2 with our Marine Corps group. Guys came from Pennsylvania, Virginia, Texas, Missouri, Tennessee, Michigan, and Louisiana. The crew had a big crab and shrimp boil at the camp last night and watched the LSU game!! We departed the lodge in the dark and arrived on location to find a slow falling tide and a super slow bite. Patience and persistence were key today. We had boats all over the Du....  Read More

I am looking for direction on the tide charts posted on Louisiana Sportsman - We enjoy fishing out of Leeville and am told it is best to fish a falling tide. My question is which of the tide charts that are posted on this website do I use for determining the water movement for the Catfish Lake side of the road around Bobby Lynns Landing?

With tropical weather in the forecast and a window of opportunity, my crew of Desert Storm veterans from the United States Marine Corp were fired up to make something happen before the downpour. We arrived in the deep bayou armed with 75 crabs and a lot of smack talkin'. We set the iPilot and never moved. The bites were few and far between with catfish and croakers sucking the meat from our....  Read More

This is a two day report. Yesterday Capt. Jason had Ms. Debbie and her nephew fishing with him. They fished the edge of the Breton Sound catching 75 reds and 3 reds. This was not their first time fishing with us and it is always a joy to fish with them. Their pictures are the last two pics.

For the past several years the government are working on the Bayou Dupont area to increase land. At present time they are spending millions for 360 acers of land. To get their heavy equipment to the area they want to work they need to build a canal for several miles. Here is a picture of the spoil area that was just mud several months ago. Just think how much land we could have if they had used....  Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

It was a rough Saturday morning out of Boudreaux’s Waterfront Motel in Leeville. Aside for a couple of hours early this morning, heavy wind and thunderstorms occupied most of the morning fishing time. The afternoon fishing is also going to be rough as thunderstorms are continuing and the sky is dark. Heavy gusts accompany the thunderstorms so if you’re fishing....  Read More

  • Where and what is history of this camp?
Is this the old WLF camp near Lake Borgne? Found this image uploaded in Google Earth today. Location looks wrong in Google maps, heard it was near Janke's Ditch. Or is this a hoax someone pulled on Google?

I sunk my boat last week off of Old River in the spillway and my tackle boat floated off. I know this is a shot in the dark but just would like to know if someone seen or has it. I'll give money for a reward. Thanks

I have had camps and fished at Cocodrie for 35 years and this is the worst year for trout since 1975

Even the Guide boats have been having to depend on Redfish due to lack of trout

Oil spill. NO.

Over fished YES

Too much pressure on the Trout as I think they have been virtually over fished

Hundreds more fishermen plus guide boats going out daily equals way....  Read More
