Fishing in Southeast Louisiana
I am looking for a spot to take some children fishing. I can do maybe an hour drive for New Orleans AT most. I have been to the catfish ponds in Holder and the one that is or used to be in Zachery. I have been to City Park in N.O. I am also open to crabbing if it is a productive spot. I just want them to catch something.

Other Hunting in Southeast Louisiana
I am new when it comes to nutria hunting. recently my good friend and i went to our hunting ponds in point a la hache. We brought along the trusty .22 winchester rifle, but it wasn't cutting it ! These swamp rats are huge. the two we killed were both thot through the eyes. Now i know that many people are better shots then us, but we hit all six that we saw in the head, but only managed to kill....  Read More

Recipes in Outside Louisiana
4 lb. Black drum was delicious. After taking advice of previous posters. I fileted and removed red pieces. Broiled in butter, olive oil, lemon juice, saltnpepper and garlic. It was great. No worms were found. Next time I think I will scale and grill whole. 'Never trust a fisherman who doesn't eat his catch'. Caught with shrimp on Tony Saprito pier in Sarasota Fl, late may.

Need a suggestion for a new tree stand. I have a Summit Viper SS( I think that's the model). I need another that is lighter and easier to pack as I will be hunting public lands. Thinking about Millennium unless someone have a better suggestion?? Also need recommendations for climbing sticks Thanks

Inshore Fishing in Bayou Bienvenue in Southeast Louisiana
Video of catching a big alligator gar while fishing plastics around Bayou Bienvenue last fall. This is a very freak occurrence in my experience. I fought it gently because the hook was a thin wire 2/0 with a 12lb mono leader.

i was in the surf at elmers island and threw out a double rig and hooked up on what ended up being a 40' bullred. i was getting spooled and had less than 10yrds left on my reel and couldnt stop it, so i start moving out to get some line back and then the bull heads towards caminada, but theres a boat anchored and fortunately he pulls his anchor and I'm now swimming to keep my head up. this....  Read More

Yesterday I had a guy from Central Arkansas looking to try his hand on some reds and trout in Delacroix Island. There was a stiff wind and stained water but we were still able to put some nice trout and a few reds in the box. If you would like to schedule a trip with Capt. Jimmy Corley you can contact him by phone at (504) 258-4431, by email at cap.jimmy.corley@gmail.com, also you can go check....  Read More

Good times out on the water today. First spot had 110 trout willing to come aboard then nothing. Made one move and picked up the last 15 for our 125 speck limit. Everyone on the boat was getting doubles back to back and couldn't believe how fast the fish were coming in. Double rigged matrix shad pulled every one of the fish on the boat.
For your day catching fish give me a call.

You now cant run a mud boat in Plaquemines Parish unless you are on your private land and/or you have written permission from who you are leasing from. If you have to pass through public land or someone elses property to get there your are doing so illegally.

Inshore Fishing in Leeville / Golden Meadow in Southeast Louisiana
Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

The Speckled Trout bite continued this week out of Boudreauxs Waterfront Motel in Leeville. Monday and Friday morning were a little rough with the 10-15 Southeast wind, and a stalling front, but even mother nature could not stop the big Trout as they are now pigging out. Limits are easily obtained as long as you exercise patience.

This week the new moon....  Read More

How many trout are you aloud to catch in one day? Does it change if you give your fish away? What happens if you and 3 others fish catch 100 trout and you give yours to the others now do they have too many in their possion?

O.K. there's something I've been thinking about regarding the Federal Snapper Commercial(Charter) vs. Recreational season length. If I'm understanding my recreational boat will get 10 days while the charter boats will get 45 days.....????? So we all know the story when you factor in working during the week and weather I might get 1-2 trips, and that's if me and my crew get's lucky enough....  Read More

  • Dulac, Louisiana fishing charters with Captain Clark Trosclair.

The company that I usually deal with for the Houma Oilman's Rodeo decided that they were not going to participate this year. So I teamed up with Topwater Charters for Friday and Saturday. Friday we caught speckled trout and bullreds. Saturday we caught speckled trout, redfish, and drum. We used live minnows, live shrimp and crabs for bait.
