Low Tide in Leeville
Sunday morning I took the old man fishing in Leeville. The water was very low (2 feet lower than normal), but the tide was rising all afternoon. Of course we headed west when everyone is catching limits of specks to the east. Our first stop was in the self named 'south east' canal. Water was dirty. Saw reds chasing baits at the mouth of cuts. Cocahoe's under a cork and carolina rigged did the trick in 1-2 feet of water. Then we fished the pockets and points on the south shore of deep bayou. Gin clear water. Cocahoe's under cork and slow reeling salt and pepper bayou chubs picked up a few nice fish. Let the 3 big girls go, kept 8 slot reds.
