Hitchhiking Pelican

Even Pelicans know it's better to fish from a Hobie!rnrnThis guy followed me around yesterday and kept getting real close. I took a couple of picks when he was right next to me. Then all of a sudden he decided he wanted to get in the 'yak with me.rnrnHe would even let me pet him. I let him ride along for a little while until he tried to eat my camera!

Pelican

I'm wondering if it was a pelican that was impacted by the oil spill and had lots of human contact while being cleaned of the oil

New Orleans Pelicans

Your good 'Buther , you must really be a zoo-ilogist or a pelican whisper ----- have you'll ever witness the pelicans flying in large single file formation then breaking off one by one diving into the water , a memerible site ----also like the way they catch the uplift of air caused by the Causeway and 11 Bridge and ride the rails and never flap a wing

The atmosphere you project. Chris must have a good one. I have a friend with a good one. He has a lizard and black bird come drink whiskey n coke on the porch swing with him. For true.

Human contact

I agree with butcher. It was probably hand fed as well.

Pelican

Man don't make friends or feed them nasty things. They will get use to people and you will get mad when the try to get a fish off your hook and hook themselves. They will follow you around and become a nusiance till you pick up and leave a spot where you are catching fish at. I repeat do not make friends with them or porpoise 'PLEASE'.
