Its people like that, who endanger our right to hunt. People who do that should honestly be shot imo.
Sadly tho, there is no law stating how much of the animal you have to keep but there are many laws stating you cannot dump them on or near roadways or populated areas....
Once again, that's a damn shame.
What about a couple of other sernios , like somebody shot a deer and couldn't find it for a day or so and when they did they find it they didn't think the meat was good or someone else found the deer and they wanted the cape and horns for a mount or maybe practicing taxadermy ---------------------- now it could be a horn hunter or maybe a lazy drunk that shot the deer then got blitzed and left it ungutted in back the truck while he splet it off -------no matter what happened it really tee's me to see it and I got to agree it makes the sport look bad , I live in Lacombe and the back road ditches around here are littered with carcasuses this time of year
I'm more of a meat hunter , but I shot a really nice buck a few years back . The deer was really big and it hurt me that I lost him after knocking him down .
I went back and looked for that deer everyday for 3 weeks . At that point all I wanted were the horns but never found him . It's possible that someone found their deer too late to save the meat .
The bullet wound does look like it was infected compared to the freshly caped out head .
If someone just killed that deer for the horns , they should be caught and severely punished , because that is a real shame .
I don't know if any of you have been back out there but i went down lake road sunday evening and there were 2 whole does in the canal about 20ft past the first small bridge. Both were missing the backstaps and nothing else........ I didn't get a chance to snap pics, but wish i had. It really is crimminal that people dump these deer out there every year and nothing is done.
Really ticks me off to see that.
