Bonne annee' is french for Happy New Year. It's what we say 'down da bayou' this time of year. It's pronounced 'bon non ney'. Growing up it was one of the first french phrases I can remember learning. To translate the whole thing I said ' Happy New Years my fellow sportsman. Good luck to all this year. For my spanish freinds Happy new year.' In spanish 'Feliz ano nuevo' means Happy New Year. I grew up on Bayou Lafourche and was surrounded by french speaking people including my parents, grandparents and family. Now with so many Spanish speaking people I have learned to speak spanish also. Being coon-ass has allowed me to accept all cultures. It's like a big gumbo pot.
