Stinging Hard in St Ba'nard

Note to self: when you cannot put gas in the boat because the cap in frozen shut and you have to scrape the ice off the deck before you work the trolling motor it may be a good idea to stay in bed...but the fish didn't mind!

The weather, gatherings and holidays have had me off of the water for a while so I had to make a trip yesterday while I had the chance. Haven't been to Da Parish in a while so Troy and I decided to make a run to the great wall yesterday. Launched at the Chef a little late to let the sun come up but it was still a blistering ride down the ICW.

The wind blasted us all day long but we worked the Matrix Shad Green Hornet on a 3/8 jig head at the Great Wall and surrounding shorelines to put the sting on 'em. The was really no pattern today as they were both shallow and deep so just had to fan cast the entire time. Set a new personal best with six species of fish caught all on the hornet...final tally:

44 specks (~12 more throwbacks)
8 white trout (all throwbacks)
3 big bass released (breeders not eaters)
2 small flounders (throwbacks)
2 reds (throwbacks)
3 small jack chevelles
