Phillip with a gut bomb!!!
I've mellowed some over the years, once the guys catch a limit of Trout I tell them they can fish for whatever they want. BUT I did have a hidden agenda, I already knew there were big Trout roaming the same flat even with 53 degree and 2 feet or less of water. Should've seen Scott's face when a 20' Trout came out head shaking. The StOoOpiD r-fish they were catching were fun to watch, Scott and Philip were smoking them. They were definitely acting a donkey, r-fish busting up some bait in shallow water.
I have to interject one major point, one which most who fish Delacroix a lot (including Scott) understand. For a Trout purist like me, after catching a limit of Trout those hours are much better spent scouting places we don't fish. We spend countless hours running and pouring over maps and Delacroix is truly overwhelming. There are MANY areas from the back levee canal to Black Bay that hold Trout we don't fish, some of those Trout don't see boats. Catching Trout is easy once you find them but my favorite thing is finding them in an area where I've never fished and where no one has told me to fish. I love my scouting trips and that is something I know we have to and will continue to do.
Scott don't let him pick on ya man. I would have been excited and had funny faces if I was pulling in a big pig. U go bro!! And can't blame John for using a top water on them reds they make a showing when they hit them. Lol. I had one a couple weeks ago crush my cork. Great report Scott. How's class going?
I think the cheese done slid off your cracker Scott, I was walking the dog for Trout not those big dummy, StOoOpiD r-fish ya'll were catching. As for those captains in the west, I never got me no invite to no DO LARGE! I bet they can find them no limits of no Trout so now they want to come take ours, shoot too! Joking aside, I enjoyed fishing with you guys when you were here, definitely looking forward to doing it again.
Scott, you guys are the bomb. John texted me this morning at 7:30 with the news while I had just shot my bird Grey duck. Acting the donkey...hysterical
