Inshore Fishing in Leeville / Golden Meadow in Southeast Louisiana
Capt. Bob's Leeville Report
Hello Again Cyber Anglers,
Fished out of Boudreaux’s Waterfront Motel in Leeville Friday and Saturday. Friday I got in the water late with the intention of shooting a late afternoon show so I idled out of Boudreaux’s canal. When I passed under the bridge the fish were hitting the bait all around the rocks at Margo’s. Tide was barely moving in so I anchored up current and could see the big Specks hitting large minnows and finger mullet. Water temp had warmed to the upper 60’s and the water was a beautiful gulf green. I started by throwing a blue and chrome She Dog and on the first cast hit a 4+ pound Speck. Next 3 casts produced healthy fish as additionally I worked the rocks with large live minnows from Terry’s, rigged both Carolina and under a cork. I also caught Redfish along with the occasional hardhead. Before light ran out I had an awesome episode of Between the Banks shot.
Saturday I left the dock midmorning but this time the bite was brutal only catching 7 Specks, 2 Whites and a couple of Redfish. The morning was brutal but late afternoon to dark was the best bite and produced most of the fish. Where the afternoon Friday produced a quick show, I ended up with only 17 minutes when we ran out of light on Saturday’s filming trip.
This week on Between the Banks you can catch episode #1400 that we filmed in Bayou Lafourche last week and see just how big the Trout get in the bayou and pick up on details and tips. Catch it on LCN and betweenthebanks.com along with Vision Communications. In the meantime good luck fishing…Capt. Bob
